Thanks again for your ongoing support. Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/8197643fdb539e6e0d3b2c69031b2bafc4ecdc57.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/4c643615e02585b4e41ebb58fa554226cdff7a05.png Offering a sacrifice in Hannuman’s Grotto should now provide a reward, as intended. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/a09677cb86cd4055e7935a91374f4bafeda7d323.png Fixed an issue with VoIP. Conan Exiles Producer LetterMar 10, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHello Exiles! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Scott Junior the new Executive Producer for Conan Exiles. I joined the Exiles project in January and I’m excited to work with the development team and with the amazing community we have. There are a lot of exciting things planned for 2020 and I wanted to give you a quick glimpse into what the team is currently working on: Follower Management UI In today’s update we introduced the Follower Management UI. The goal of this system is to allow players to manage their Thralls in an efficient manner. You can now see where they are on the map, check their stats, rescue them if they end up in a non-retrievable location, and break bonds with them. This is the first step in our efforts to improve how Followers work in Conan Exiles. You can find more information about this feature here. Follower Commands Step two is our Followers Part 2 update. The goal of this patch is to allow players to have greater control of how their Thralls behave. It’s too early to give exact details on how this will work, but we are planning to add Thrall Commands, rework some of their base AI, and add additional default behaviors. We also want to make Thralls and Mounts work better together, which includes allowing an active Mount and Follower at the same time. This update is still early in the process, so some of the above may move to a future update. Thrall Limiter We will start a process of adding a Thrall Limiter feature to official servers. We have talked about this feature before, but the short version is that on Official Servers players/clans will have a max number of followers allowed. Exact numbers are still being evaluated, but you can expect an in-depth explanation of exactly how the Limiter will work before it is released. In addition, you will receive at least 2 weeks notice so you can prepare properly. TestLive Client Changes are currently underway to how the TestLive Client is used. Updates will stay on the TestLive Client longer than they have before to give players time to give feedback, and to give us the chance to react to this feedback before the update is released. The Followers Management patch was on TestLive for three weeks and had four updates based on player testing/feedback. Thank you to everyone that has been involved in this round of testing, your input is appreciated! Undermeshing The team is working on several ways to combat Undermeshing and other exploits that allow players to build outside the intended area. Some of these changes are risky and may have unintended side effects, so we want to make sure our solution is tested thoroughly before it’s released on all platforms. TestLive Client currently has one enabled, so give it a try and let us know if anything isn’t working properly (or try to Undermesh on the Testlive Client and let us know if you still can!). That’s it for now. We have a lot of other great things in development that we will be communicating soon! -ScottPC Patch (10.03.2020)Mar 10, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings Exiles! We’re excited to bring to all of you a long-requested feature, the Followers Management system! From a new tab in your player menu you’ll now be able to get information and manage your followers at a glance, adding a few new QoL improvements as well. Check their stats, location in the map, break bonds or -new in this patch- rescue them. All of it from a new snappy screen we’re sure you’ll grow to love during your adventures in the Exiled Lands. We’ve improved on this feature thanks to all the feedback our community has been sharing with us during its Testlive period, with multiple fixes and refinements We’re also bringing a slice of fixes and improvements to the game, starting with addressing some of the most reported issues with Thralls’ AI, extra improvements against undermesh locations as well as general bugfixing. Additionally, we'd like to introduce you to our new Executive Producer, Scott Junior! You can find the producer letter here that details things we're currently working on, as well as some things planned for the future. Thanks again for your ongoing support and feedback. Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/58696926e8f6c287a844de9add296096778eb538.png New Follower Management System! With great power comes great responsibility! Following up on our follower leveling system, we're introducing the Follower Management System. From this screen you'll have at a glance an overview over your army of followers, giving you extra control even from a distance! You can access it from a new tab in the player menu. From this new screen you will be able to: View your current number of followers! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/46cc0e9a721c2b7c6d11eb37ab06200f45cd0e04.jpg If you have the population cap enabled in your server or single player game, you will be able to check your current quota of followers as well as the maximum you're allowed based on the server settings. Quick and easy! On official servers, however, you will still have to wait to see this count as we are not enabling the population limit just yet. We will inform beforehand when this change is coming. Check stats, rescue and break bonds from a distance! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/d207069b3e8959ebd926288c079b1a8e4d4a937e.png From the management screen you can now break bonds with those followers you're no longer interested in keeping. Just click on them and select "Break Bond" from the menu. Much easier than having to deal with the emotional trauma of doing it face to face. We have also added a new extra functionality. Tired of those pesky followers who chose to disappear in the middle of the night? You can now recall them to your position (as long as you're within your claim) to keep them under control. However, this power comes with a few caveats: When they get rescued, and to avoid possible abuse of this...Weeklong Funcom Steam Sale!Feb 24, 2020 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/af7abef3b477d80cba12043b29393ed352fc975d.png Happy Monday, all! PC Patch (30.01.2020)Jan 30, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings Exiles, We’re starting the year with a new patch focusing on bringing many fixes into the game, addressing exploits, general and UI issues among other things. We’re also laying down the first layer of quality fixes for NPCs and followers, which will be the focus for our next patch in a few weeks. With this patch we will also enable on official servers a feature introduced with the December update which limits the visibility of players in the player list. By default, players will be listed as invisible unless they choose to participate in chat. At that moment, they will be visible in the player list for the next 5 minutes. It was clear that many of you felt strongly about the newest movement changes. We also agree that we didn’t leave enough room for testing, which is something we’ll take a closer look at next year and work on improving. The designers feel that the momentum feature is an essential part of the mount experience. So while we’re keeping it in, we also made some adjustments based on your feedback. This change is part of today’s patch. Please check out the adjustments and let us know how they feel. It was clear that many of you felt strongly about the newest movement changes. We also agree that we didn’t leave enough room for testing, which is something that we will work on improving. The designers feel that the momentum feature is an essential part of the mount experience. However, while we’re keeping it in, we are also making adjustments based on your feedback. This change will be part of a hotfix going out within the next few days. Please check out the adjustments once they are live and let us know how they feel. This will also be discussed in our stream later today at 5 pm CET. Make sure to tune in on either Twitch, Mixer, here on Steam or Twitter (Periscope). We do appreciate all of you and thank you for your ongoing support and for being part of our community.Riders of Hyboria Pack Now AvailableDec 5, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsMounts have arrived in Conan Exiles! The time has come! Saddle up and ride into all the goodness packed into our newest free content update! We couldn't let this year go without a bang. We worked hard to make this happen and are very excited to bring you one of the most anticipated and long-requested features since the early days of the game! Coconut clapping Mounts! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/a1fdb78eb761d3772ba534e2c0696f5b1fb6e74c.png From a foal to a majestic and loyal Warhorse, you can now breed and train your trusty steed and ride into battle (or where adventure calls you) with the new Mount system. Not only can you use your horse for faster traveling, but you'll also be able to engage in combat with many single-hand weapons, bows and a new weapon archetype: Lances! And what better complement to this new feature than the new Follower Leveling System? That's right! You can now level up and perk up any companion you bring with you as a follower -be it a Thrall, pet or your new mount. As a thank you for all your ongoing support, we've also squeezed in the possibility to rename your own thralls, so they can be more unique to you and reflect the time and effort spent in training them. Please note that with this update we're introducing a follower cap system that will limit the number of pets and thralls you can have active. While private servers can opt in or out as soon as the patch goes live, this change will be disabled on launch for official servers, giving you time to manually cull those followers you're ready to part with. We will enable the limit on official servers at a later date, but we will announce it in advance. You can read more about this system in our recent write-up and our Frequently Asked Questions. We have also continued our work in balancing and overhauling more aspects of the combat system. We spent some time bringing improvements to the dodging mechanic, which along with a new momentum-based player movement focuses on a fighter's commitment to their actions, raising the skill ceiling during fighting situations. Trebuchets also get an overhaul, as well as the movement system, plus a myriad of tweaks and balancing to weapons we'd love to hear your feedback about. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/25298994/12fd9ba2c17bcb3a7012f1cfbf8a84167a5955b1.jpg This patch as well marks the release of our new DLC pack, Riders of Hyboria. You can now ride with both force and style with exclusive horse skins, three new armor sets and weapons as well as new stable-related building pieces and placeables. This is the fourth and last DLC pack included in the Year 2 Season pass, also available individually. For more details you can read the full announcement here. And of course, we've packed in tons of other general bugfixes, QoL improvements and refinements based on player feedback you've been sending us. Thank you all for being the best community this side of the Exiled Lands! Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your ...PC Hotfix (02.12.2019)Dec 2, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHey everybody, We’re releasing an additional fix for a code injection exploit. Conan Exiles is Back in Steam’s Top 10 Most Played Games After Almost Losing its Entire Player Base in Early AccessMay 18, 2018 - GitHypThe early access debut of Conan Exiles was one of the most successful launches of 2017. Yet, after its first month, the hot new survival game saw a huge decline in its player base on Steam. With a peak of 53k concurrent players that placed Conan as the #6 most played game on Steam at the time, everything seemed great for Funcom’s new open world multiplayer title back in February 2017. But negative feedback from players told a different story. And by July 2017, it seemed that Exiles would be the latest in a long line of survival games that simply wouldn’t be able to survive on Steam with a peak of only 3k players left. [caption id="attachment_350873" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Conan Exiles' Peak Concurrent Players on Steam via GitHyp[/caption] Most games that lose 95% of their players in such a short time span aren’t ever able to recover even half of their player base ever again – even when going free-to-play. Yet, last week's official launch of Conan Exiles at $39.99 has almost completely revived the game with its population back to a peak of 49k concurrent players. Conan’s successful comeback is due in large part to the developer’s commitment to improving the game. When it debuted on Steam, feedback from players was Mixed with many complaining that the $29.99 game was unplayable in its current state. Since coming out of early access last week with a $10 higher price tag, reviews from players have changed to Mostly Positive -- placing it back in Steam's top 10 most played. Although players are still reporting numerous bugs (as is usually the case with most open world games), Conan Exiles’ time in early access has been time well spent and a great example of how to do early access right. The player base isn’t likely to explode like PUBG and Fornite, but it’s sure to retain players for a much longer period now that it’s off to a more stable second start.Conan Exiles Has A Huge First Week In Early AccessFeb 8, 2017 - GitHypWith little staying power in the MMO arena over the past two decades, Norwegian developer Funcom’s decision to revamp the Conan franchise with a focus on survival mechanics is paying off big time. Conan Exiles has become Funcom’s biggest hit yet by scaling down the server sizes and scaling up the combat, base-building, and adult content. Last week, Conan Exiles entered early access on PC for $29.99 and Twitch viewers flocked to the channels of streamers who played the visually-impressive new open world game. Viewers couldn’t get enough of the gameplay and hilarious character builder that featured both male and female endowment sliders and genital physics – a feature which Twitch continues to allow to go completely uncensored. As a result, Conan Exiles peaked at #1 on Twitch with 170,892 viewers. And while the viewer counts have dropped off over the past week, the audience has still been high enough to keep Conan in Twitch’s daily top 10. [caption id="attachment_239826" align="aligncenter" width="771"] Conan Exile's Viewer Count per Hour on Twitch via GitHyp[/caption] In its first week in early access on Steam, Conan Exiles peaked at 53,174 concurrent players and held on to an average daily high of 37,608 players -- an impressive number for an early access game -- which placed Conan as high as #6 on Steam and has kept the game in Steam’s top 10 most played games. Although the game continues to rank high in terms of player counts, the user reviews on Steam have been mixed... but that hasn't stopped Conan Exiles’ playerbase from increasing by 18% since launching -- going from an average of 22,658 players per hour last Tuesday to 27,611 pph yesterday. Oddly, we saw a similar upward trend with Steam’s most popular multiplayer survival game, ARK: Survival Evolved, where despite mostly negative reviews, the game’s playerbase increased by 23% over the course of just one month back in September. ARK's early access launched in June 2015 with a peak of 63k players and currently sits in Steam's top 3 most played games after a recent sale that slashed its price by 67%. [caption id="attachment_239825" align="aligncenter" width="771"] Conan Exiles' Player Count per Hour on Steam via GitHyp[/caption] Funcom’s recent success comes at the expense of 24 years of trial and error. Back in 2001, their sci-fi MMO, Anarchy Online, couldn’t compete with the fantasy-themed hit, EverQuest. While their 2008 follow-up attempt at fantasy, Age of Conan, also struggled to find a fanbase and currently only manages to break 100 concurrent players each hour on Steam. The developer’s more recent second attempt at sci-fi, The Secret World, only averages around 360 players per hour after launching in 2012. And their last MMO, Lego Minifigures Online, shut down only one year after its launch in 2015. With all their experience making multiplayer games, Funcom should have all the tools to keep the hype train running… but there are already serious server problems which the developer has publicly addressed. With competitor ARK: Survival Evolved still in early access and still pushing out paid DLC and still seeing an increase in players, it’ll be interesting to see if Funcom follows the same format and if Conan Exiles can manage to retain its current booming playerbase.
