This was due to a harmless but alarming-looking desynchronisation between client and server, which has now been resolved. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where crafting reagents would be destroyed upon exiting the game if they were in-use in the crafting UI. Gameplay Changes: The drop ranges of affix tiers 9 and 10 are now capped at Item Level 200. A new affix tier has been added: tier 13! Tier 13 affixes have a very rare chance of rolling on rare and legendary items with an item level of 217, and offer a +50% increase in power over tier 12 affixes. Tier 13 affixes will appear in orange text in item tooltips. Bug Fixes: Magpies rejoice! The Diamond Mines of Morkai project can once again potentially reward Genesis Stones. Patch 1.1.7.9May 30, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patch 1.1.7.9 on PC, patch 1.1.7.17 on XBOX, and patch 1.011 on PlayStation. Various crash and hang fixes. Patch 1.1.7.8May 22, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patches 1.1.7.8 on PC and 1.010 on PlayStation. This patch will arrive on XBOX at a later date. This patch changes how Infinity Difficulty scales and awards bonus Attribute and Gate of Fates points, along with the usual selection of bug fixes. Gameplay Changes: Infinity Difficulty has had its scaling adjusted, and now has a more pronounced difficulty curve. Because of this adjusted scaling, far fewer skulls need to be spent to reach higher difficulty levels. Successful Operations on Infinity Difficulty now reward the same amount of skulls spent to launch the operation, rather than double. As before, spending Skulls and completing an Operation on a higher Skull spend for the first time will award some player power. Successful Operations below 100 skulls will award one-time bonuses of 5 Attribute points for every Skull spent, and 1 Gate of Fates point for every 5 skulls. After the first 100 skulls, successful Operations will grant 1 Attribute point for every 2 Skulls spent, and 1 Gate of Fates point for every 50 Skulls spent. These rewards are capped at 1000 Attribute points and 40 Gate of Fates points. Records for previously attained "Highest Completed" Skulls have been adjusted in-line with the new scaling and Skull spend, but will be adjusted no higher than 100. For example: a record of 573 Skulls turns into 57, while 80,000 Skulls turns into 100. Any missing bonus Attribute and Gate of Fates points will be awarded accordingly. The amount of Skulls previously earned by players remains untouched. Skulls for the Skull Throne. Bug Fixes: We have given Demetra a stern lecture about withholding services from her customers. Players can once again level up and duplicate skills. Fixed an issue where the level 30 version of Imbued Veiled Eclipse could not be obtained. Cleaned up the gamepad input prompt bar in the Skills and Modifiers Screen. Fixed various instances of "Undefined" being show in the Character Sheet in some languages. Resolved a navmesh issue in the Necropolis area of the campaign. Fixed an issue where the HP values in enemy health bars would break at certain thresholds. Console Only: Fixed an issue which prevented projectile VFX for the lightning variant of Livor Mortis from displaying. Fixed an issue which prevented some of Artic Spear's VFX from displaying. Fixed an issue which caused the player character to turn into a hideous squiggle monster if the player reconnected their gamepad whilst the Cosmetics Menu was open. Resolved instances of placeholder icons for one of the deluxe edition armour sets. Patch 1.1.7.7May 12, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patch 1.1.7.7 on PC, patch 1.1.7.16 on XBOX, and patch 1.09 on PlayStation. This small patch brings further fixes and small tweaks to tide things over whilst we cook up further improvements to Infinite Difficulty. Improvements: Added additional music to Stormfall when in Champion of Stormfall mode. Enjoy community-favourite tracks from the OST whilst bargaining with Mohabi. Further refinements have been made to the gamepad targeting system and should make it much easier to interact with what you want when you want. Improved input latency on gamepad. Slightly increased the number of secondary dungeons in applicable environments. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where improving a non-Weapon Item's Quality would not improve the Item's stats. Fixed an issue where the Slicing Dash Skill Modifier for Evasion would convert the Skill Damage type to Shadow, regardless of the selected Elemental Variant. Console Only: Other further crash fixes. Fixed an instance of a missing icon in the Transmutation Forge. Patch 1.1.7.6May 5, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patch 1.1.7.6 on PC. This patch addresses the variety of environments and enemies in Endgame Operations, along with various bug fixes. Improvements: We have done a pass on how often particular biomes and enemy types spawn in Endgame Operations, to bring some balance and variety to what players typically encounter. Some environments, such as the Red Wastes, were overrepresented, whilst others were rarely encountered. For enemies, the Cult of Souls faction were the most encountered, whilst the Cult of Fury and Bandits were seen less often. We have also done a pass on the spawn rate of secondary dungeons in eligible Operation types. Some environments would not spawn a secondary dungeon, and thus deny the player access to a trade shrine and result in a prematurely full inventory. Where appropriate, there should now always be a secondary dungeon available. Balancing: Annihilation Skill Weapon Damage has been increased from 250% to 300%. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where the Consequence Reversal Active Skill Modifier for Aether Jump would not remove Crowd Control effects. Fixed an issue where the Howl of Battle Active Skill Modifier for Flight of Gaavanir would not generate Rage on Hit if there was only one target. Fixed an issue where the Drums and Bells Skill Modifier for Flight of Gaavanir would not grand movement speed to the player. Fixed an issue where some elements of the minimap would still be visible when using the map overlay. Further improved the detail on Iosonic Rain's Active Skill Modifier tooltips. Fixed an issue where frenzied enemies would break the cardinal rule of entertainment media by attempting to attack the player's pet dog (or wolf, or tiger, or dragon). You. Do. Not. Hurt. The. Dog. Fixed an issue in Phase 1 of the Lambach encounter where the text indicating that the pods should be destroyed would be unhelpfully small. Fixed an issue in Game Settings where the "Reset to Default" button would not reset audio volume options. Changed the error message displayed when attempting to sell Enneracts to Demetra to be more helpful. Fixed an issue in Demetra's Skill Duplication menu where the selected skill would unintentionally change. Fixed an issue where some menus could be opened during cinematics. Fixed an issue on gamepad which prevented full navigation of the Skills & Modifiers screen. Fixed an issue where some level 80 versions of the Imbued Legacy of the Willbreaker unique shield had a level requirement of 60. Fixed an issue where some level 80 versions of the Imbued Prototype: Deliverance V2 unique weapon had a level requirement of 60. Fixed an issue where menus could be unintentionally opened whilst the chat box is open. Fixed a series of issues which could arise from kicking a player out of a multiplayer session whilst the joinee was loading in. Fixed an instance of missing SFX Various Localisation fixes. Various crash fixes. Hotfix - Patch 1.1.7.5Apr 28, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! This is a small hotfix for two outstanding issues from 1.1.7.5. Please note that your game version will not change. Pushed a new localisation file to restore broken text in the Stomfall overview and War Table UIs in non-English versions of the game on PC. Stings of Krearion has been tuned back down to a more reasonable power level. However, it has been left more potent than it was before 1.1.7.5, with a 300% Skill Weapon Damage (up from 200% pre-patch).Patch 1.1.7.5Apr 26, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Patch 1.1.7.5 is now live. This patch brings further balancing changes to the game, and various bug fixes. Improvements: Added an option to enable or disable the "panning effect" of the camera when using a controller. The new option's checkbox can be found in Gameplay Settings with the label "Controller Camera". Balancing: City Building: Significantly increased the cost of the Uber Lambach boss fight project. While we want unique items to be readily available to players, the low cost of the project made them just a bit too available. Items: The Ahriman affix that increases maximum ailment stacks by 1 can now allow up to 2 maximum stacks. (Only on Helms, Gloves, and Pants). The following Ahriman affixes have had their minimum and maximum values increased: +X% Health, +X% Health Regen, +X% Force Shield, +X% Minion Health. Stats: The Cooldown Reduction cap has been increased from 120% to 200%. Skills: Annihilation: the base Skill Damage has been increased from 200% Weapon Damage to 250% Weapon Damage. Arctic Spear: the Sublime Fracture ASM has had its Damage Multiplier increased from 0.33 to 0.55. Bladestorm: the base Skill Damage has been increased from 200% Weapon Damage to 240% Weapon Damage. Blood for Blood: the Bonus Damage granted by the base skill has been increased from +10% to +15%. Blood for Blood: the buff granted by the Feed on Pain ASM has been increased from 1% to 4%. Gunslinger's Brand: the Wild Gunman ASM has had its remaining shot Damage increased from 0.2 to 0.66. Havoc Orb: the Disintegrating Payload ASM has had its Damage Multiplier increased from 0.15 to 0.35. Hunting Swarm: all variants have had their base damage reduced from 0.6 to 0.4. Iosonic Rain: The Angel of Death ASM now correctly fires in a frontal cone. In addition, the tooltips for the majority of Iosonic Rain's ASMs have been tweaked to display more practical information and detail. Livor Mortis: all variants have had their base damage reduced from 1.0 to 0.8 (with the exception of the standard variant). Phantom Blades: the base Skill's Weapon Damage has been increased from 250% to 300%. Phantom Blades: the Gliding Friction ASM has had its Damage Multiplier increased from 0.25 to 0.5. Plagueburst: the base Skill's Cooldown has been reduced from 20s to 12s. Plagueburst: the Foul Guardian ASM's Area of Effect tick rate has been increased from 1 second to 1.66 seconds. Slayer's Flurry: the base Skill Damage has been increased from 200% Weapon Damage to 250% Weapon Damage. Slayer's Flurry: the Cosmic Ambush ASM has had its Skill Weapon Damage bonus increased from +20% to +50%. Slayer's Flurry: the buff from the Zealous Blades ASM has had its maximum stacks reduced from 20 to 10, but the damage for each Solarfall: The base Skill Damage has been increased from 200% Weapon Damage to...Patch 1.1.7.4Apr 13, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Patch 1.1.7.4 is now available. This patch brings improvements to Infinity Difficulty and the campaign save system, along with fixes for bugs and crashes, both big and small. Improvements: Infinity Difficulty. Players can now more easily spend large quantities of skulls. Mouse & Keyboard behaves in the same manner as when adding Attribute Points: use Shift+click to add 5 skulls, or use Ctrl+Click to add 50 skulls. Or, if using a controller, simply press and hold the designated input. We are aware that the Campaign save system can be obtuse, particularly in the early stages of Chapter I where there can be long gaps between save points. To rectify this, we have added two new save points to the early game: one just before you meet Ilthain for the first time, and one part-way through the Svriir Caves after finding the "Tributes Chamber" waypoint. We will examine other similar areas of the campaign and adjust accordingly in the future. Improved the server-side pipeline for animation loading. This should improve responsiveness during gameplay. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where players in the final phase of the Ahriman fight would encounter a crash or disconnection if the player had completed the "Ward the Palace" project prior to facing him. Fixed a peculiar issue where the side-boss Golmuth, Flayer Philosopher, would bend the rules of time and space and trigger Chapter II's intro cinematic if he was defeated by the player. Fixed an issue during Ahriman phase 3 where Ahriman would get a bit tired and incorrectly stay in place when below 50% health. Fixed an issue which prevented Summons from attacking Lambach Tentacles or Haunt Stones. Tweaked the VFX display of "Avenger" Autoturret's "Consensus" ASM buff for better visibility. Fixed an issue where the UI panel announcing Ahriman's arrival could be clicked through. Fixed an issue where the Lightning and Sacred variants of the Imbued Legacy of the Willbreaker Unique Shield were appearing as "Unknown Items". Fixed an instance in multiplayer where party members could trigger NPC dialog for the game host. Fixed a multiplayer issue where re-joining a game in progress could cause a disconnection for the host and a black screen for the joinee. Fixed an issue in the campaign in Chapter II where interaction prompts would fail to appear above Valeria or the dying shaman. Fixed an issue in the campaign in Chapter I where the Primordial Guardian would not follow its stage directions and would stubbornly refuse to appear destroyed and remain interactable, despite dying. Fixed various niche instances of client and server crashes. Updated various instances of missing localisation text. Patch 1.1.7.3Apr 5, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Patch 1.1.7.3 is now live for PC. This patch addresses the player power issues that arose from the Infinity difficulty tier and resolves the associated character loading issues. It also brings a number of other improvements to controller gameplay, online behaviour, and, of course, bug fixes. As always, if there is an ongoing issue you don't see a fix for here, be assured that we will address it in a subsequent patch. We would also like to re-remind players not to complete the ""Ward the Palace"" project in the Regent Assembly as it can cause a disconnection or crash during phase 3 of the Ahriman fight. We are actively working on a fix, due in the next patch. Improvements Infinity Tier. A cap has been introduced to the player power rewards that can come from Infinity difficulty tier. The maximum number of Attribute points that can be earned is now 500, and maximum number of Gate of Fates points is 20. Characters that have previously engaged with the system will retain as many additional Attribute and Gate of Fates points as they would have otherwise earned, up to the new cap. Both their Attribute points and Gate of Fates points will require redistribution. We will explore further changes and refinements for the system in the future." Summons should now typically have a lower targeting priority over merchants, portals, loot, and other objects when playing with a controller. Improved the targeting behaviour of Gunslinger's Brand on controller. The "Auto" and "Lowest Latency" server selection dropdown options will once again choose more appropriate local servers. Further improvements to performance for large friends lists. Bug Fixes Players who could no longer access their characters after investing a large number of points into their Gate of Fates should once again be able to load their affected characters. Note that their Attribute and Gate of Fates points will require redistribution. Resolved an issue where particle effects and audio would no longer trigger in Chapter I after some time had elapsed. We are investigating similar issues in the other Chapters. Resolved an issue where the Flame Wave attack of Ahriman's Spectres during phase 2 would disappear prematurely. Fixed an issue which caused the War Table's difficulty shield emblems to have stretched backgrounds. Rectified instances where the central portal would be missing from Ahriman Lieutenant arenas. Fixed an issue which prevented Skeleton Cultists from using their full range of abilities. Resolved an issue where VFX from the Ahriman fight would remain in place and still be visible during subsequent Operations. Fixed various visual issues on certain armour pieces on the female player model. Tidied up various elements of several cutscenes. Tidied up Ilthain's quest marker in The Only Lead. Fixed various client and server crashes. Patch 1.1.7.2Mar 28, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Wolcen patch 1.1.7.2 is now live. This patch contains several fixes for client and server crashes, as well as some online improvements. As always, thank you for your invaluable feedback thus far. We are settling into a weekly build and release pattern for patches, so you can expect fixes for further outstanding issues in the near future. Fixed several issues which caused some elements of the Ahriman fight to be missing. Resolved two issues which would cause client and server crashes with particular interactions between the Flamethrower variant of the Punisher Exoskeleton enemy and the player. Resolved an issue which would cause a client crash when using a particular combination of Skill Modifiers for the skill "Gunslinger's Brand". Resolved an issue which would cause a client and server crash with a particular interaction between a Cult of Souls Soul Casket and the player. Resolved an issue which would cause a client crash with a particular interaction between a Cult of Souls Risen Executioner and the player. Improved the level of consistency between the "arena" area environments for Ahriman's Lieutenants Operations. Fixed an issue where quest markers would not appear after returning from the first portal area in the "Final Struggle" segment of the Ahriman encounter. Resolved an issue where SFX would play on a loop after killing an enemy with a particular boss modifier. Online Improvements: Improved the client and server side memory management of Dungeon tiles, which should reduce both their loading times and their load on the servers. Optimised logging on the server, which should improve performance slightly. Added general performance improvements to the Friends List. We have made changes to, and are continuing to tweak, the behind-the-scenes configuration of the Asia-Pacific region so that it can handle more player traffic. We advise players not to complete the "Ward the Palace" project in the Regent Assembly as it can cause a disconnection or crash during phase 3 of the Ahriman fight. We are actively working on a fix. We are aware that players in all regions sometimes have trouble connecting to their specific server of choice. This is sometimes by design (in instances where a better ping can be achieved elsewhere), and sometimes by anomaly. We are working to improve this. Patch 1.1.7.1Mar 22, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Here is the first in several upcoming patches that are being deployed specifically to resolve various post-1.1.7.0 / Chapter IV issues. If there is a known issue that is not present here, please be assured we are working hard on delivering a fix for it as soon and as safely as possible. Thank you all for your feedback thus far, and your continued patience and support. Resolved a UI softlock when accepting rewards from a completed Restock: Havar project in Champion of Stormfall mode. Fixed an issue in the conversion system which would leave some characters stuck at the end of Chapter III with no objective. Resolved an issue where Ahriman would drop too much loot (or none at all) depending on the game mode. Fixed an issue where bosses on the 2nd level of Expedition Operations would become incredibly shy and fail to spawn. Achievements for beating Ahriman and completing Act 4 should now be achievable. Fixed an issue where Heimlock and Valaria would have doppelgangers present at the end of the Ahriman fight. Fixed an issue where the player character would briefly appear in T-pose before the Wrath of Sarisel score screen. Fixed a particular voice line of Valaria's where she would mistakenly misgender the Ascended if they are female. Fixed an instance of missing lip-sync for Ilthain. Fixed a VFX issue with Iosonic Rain where the two pistols could become offset depending on the player's weapon types. Fixed offset VFX for the unique item "Canalised Staff". Improved looting behaviour on Gamepad when trying to pick out a particular item from large stacks of dropped items. Fixed the "stretching" effect on certain elements in the War Table UI. Fixed an SFX issue associated with Skeleton Cultists. Fixed miscellaneous instances of placeholder text and missing localisation. More localisation fixes are on the way. Developer Update - March 2023Mar 21, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHello everyone, Now that we have put Chapter 4 in your hands, we are entering a new development phase dedicated solely to improving the existing game. While we are very proud of our teams and their efforts in developing and testing the game, we are aware that it is not perfect, and nothing beats player feedback when it comes to identifying bugs and improvements for gameplay features. We will continue actively monitoring, gathering, and analysing the feedback you send us. Even if we cannot respond to every individual, please know we are very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to send us their valuable feedback. We want to assure everyone that we will focus on fixing outstanding issues over the coming months, improving core gameplay, and refining key features. To that end, we are working to establish a patch release roadmap to share with you. While our production team is still finalising the roadmap, it begins this week with Patch 1, which is currently undergoing the final stages of testing and will address the following major issues, amongst others: It will resolve a UI softlock when accepting rewards from the Restock: Havar project in Champion of Stormfall mode. It will fix an issue in the conversion system which would leave some characters stuck at the end of Chapter III with no objective. It will fix an issue where Ahriman would drop no loot (or too much), depending on the game mode. And more, to be detailed when the patch releases. Some issues take more time and nuance to fix than others, or, in the case of game features, we must take some time to carefully gauge how impactful changes would be for the broader player base. If you do not see an issue in this list or the lists of future patches, rest assured that we have seen your feedback and will address it to the best of our ability. And finally, the community team would like to note that we will be shelving our traditional "monthly development update" communication in favour of smaller and more frequent updates akin to this one as part of this new patch deployment cycle. Thank you again to you all.
