Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem

The studio behind one of the best-looking ARPGs, which you probably forgot about, is back with a game that blends Diablo with TarkovJan 15, 2025 - VG247Do you remember Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem? It’s a Diablo-like ARPG from a small indie team that came out in the D3-to-D4 drought. It spent years in Steam early access development, following a very successful Kickstarter campaign. It took so long, in fact, that many simply lost hope that it would actually come out resembling the initial promise. Read more Server Shutdown and Online Character ConversionSep 17, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended, We will begin shutting down Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem's servers today after the delay communicated earlier this month. Your online characters will be available in the cloud and can be converted for offline play with the patch that is also rolling out today on all platforms using a new button, “Import Online Character”, which can be found in the main menu and on the landing screen. All achievements are still available for completion, including “Dawn’s Healing”, which will now require you to revive an NPC companion instead of a player. Additionally, any achievements completed online prior to the server shutdown will be retained. Purity in Sacrifice! The Wolcen TeamDelaying Wolcen Server Shutdown - September 17thSep 3, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsDear Wolcen Community, We’ve read your comments, and, seeing that quite a few players are still doing their best to get the Dawn’s Healing achievement, we have decided to postpone shutting down the servers until September 17, 2024. During this time, we will work on finding a good equivalent for it that can be unlocked while playing offline. We would also like to confirm that there will be an "Import Online Character" button in the game’s menu that downloads and converts your online character to an offline one, even when the server are already shut down. The Wolcen TeamLong-suffering Diablo rival to end development and multiplayer supportJun 2, 2024 - PCGamesNBack in February 2020, when Diablo 4 was still a glimmer in Lilith's eye, Path of Exile 2 was just beginning to surface as an idea, and Last Epoch was but a newborn babe looking to find its feet in the initial throes of early access, Wolcen looked to be the big new kid on the block. An ARPG with no class restrictions and a beautiful world to explore, it showed a lot of early promise. But bugs, technical troubles, and balance woes left the newcomer in a rough spot that it never recovered from, and now it appears the curtain call has finally come. Read the rest of the story... Read more The Future of the gameMay 30, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsDear Wolcen Community, Thank you for your unwavering support and patience. It’s been a while since our last update, and we apologize for the silence. However, we had to make serious decisions that required careful reflection and time. Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. We are fully aware of the challenges that have emerged from the early technical decisions made regarding the game's architecture, challenges that are insurmountable without a complete technology overhaul. We have diligently updated Wolcen, enhancing every facet of the game from introducing new chapters and items to improving UI, animations, and the meticulous balancing of skills, items, and gameplay, alongside technical enhancements. Despite these efforts and the team's dedication behind our patches, we've encountered foundational hurdles that prevent further improvements under the existing framework. It is with a heavy heart that we announce a significant change: Starting September 3, 2024, Wolcen will no longer support multiplayer functionality. Additionally, we will cease further development and support for the game. This decision allows us to focus on new projects, carrying forward the lessons learned from Wolcen. We are committed to excellence and driven to create new experiences and adventures that we hope you will be eager to join. We want to assure you that Wolcen will still be available to play in single-player mode and to purchase at a new, permanently reduced price. Your feedback has always been invaluable, and it will continue to guide the development of our future projects. We've learned a lot from developing and supporting Wolcen but more than that, we have learned a lot from you and we are internally preparing to make sure lessons have been learned and we will be ready to have a stronger connection with all of you, and our community. Thank you for your continued support. We are excited about the future and cannot wait to embark on these new journeys with you, setting new standards for what we can achieve together. The Wolcen Team Steam Cloud for Wolcen: Lords of MayhemNov 3, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended We have enabled Steam Cloud saves for Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem! Tier 13 affixes have a very rare chance of rolling on rare and legendary items with an item level of 217, and offer a +50% increase in power over tier 12 affixes. Various crash and hang fixes. Patch 1.1.7.8May 22, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patches 1.1.7.8 on PC and 1.010 on PlayStation. This patch will arrive on XBOX at a later date. This patch changes how Infinity Difficulty scales and awards bonus Attribute and Gate of Fates points, along with the usual selection of bug fixes. Gameplay Changes: Infinity Difficulty has had its scaling adjusted, and now has a more pronounced difficulty curve. Because of this adjusted scaling, far fewer skulls need to be spent to reach higher difficulty levels. Successful Operations on Infinity Difficulty now reward the same amount of skulls spent to launch the operation, rather than double. As before, spending Skulls and completing an Operation on a higher Skull spend for the first time will award some player power. Successful Operations below 100 skulls will award one-time bonuses of 5 Attribute points for every Skull spent, and 1 Gate of Fates point for every 5 skulls. After the first 100 skulls, successful Operations will grant 1 Attribute point for every 2 Skulls spent, and 1 Gate of Fates point for every 50 Skulls spent. These rewards are capped at 1000 Attribute points and 40 Gate of Fates points. Records for previously attained "Highest Completed" Skulls have been adjusted in-line with the new scaling and Skull spend, but will be adjusted no higher than 100. For example: a record of 573 Skulls turns into 57, while 80,000 Skulls turns into 100. Any missing bonus Attribute and Gate of Fates points will be awarded accordingly. The amount of Skulls previously earned by players remains untouched. Skulls for the Skull Throne. Bug Fixes: We have given Demetra a stern lecture about withholding services from her customers. Players can once again level up and duplicate skills. Fixed an issue where the level 30 version of Imbued Veiled Eclipse could not be obtained. Cleaned up the gamepad input prompt bar in the Skills and Modifiers Screen. Fixed various instances of "Undefined" being show in the Character Sheet in some languages. Resolved a navmesh issue in the Necropolis area of the campaign. Fixed an issue where the HP values in enemy health bars would break at certain thresholds. Console Only: Fixed an issue which prevented projectile VFX for the lightning variant of Livor Mortis from displaying. Fixed an issue which prevented some of Artic Spear's VFX from displaying. Fixed an issue which caused the player character to turn into a hideous squiggle monster if the player reconnected their gamepad whilst the Cosmetics Menu was open. Resolved instances of placeholder icons for one of the deluxe edition armour sets. Patch 1.1.7.7May 12, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patch 1.1.7.7 on PC, patch 1.1.7.16 on XBOX, and patch 1.09 on PlayStation. This small patch brings further fixes and small tweaks to tide things over whilst we cook up further improvements to Infinite Difficulty. Improvements: Added additional music to Stormfall when in Champion of Stormfall mode. Enjoy community-favourite tracks from the OST whilst bargaining with Mohabi. Further refinements have been made to the gamepad targeting system and should make it much easier to interact with what you want when you want. Improved input latency on gamepad. Slightly increased the number of secondary dungeons in applicable environments. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where improving a non-Weapon Item's Quality would not improve the Item's stats. Fixed an issue where the Slicing Dash Skill Modifier for Evasion would convert the Skill Damage type to Shadow, regardless of the selected Elemental Variant. Console Only: Other further crash fixes. Fixed an instance of a missing icon in the Transmutation Forge. Patch 1.1.7.6May 5, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! Today we are rolling out patch 1.1.7.6 on PC. This patch addresses the variety of environments and enemies in Endgame Operations, along with various bug fixes. Improvements: We have done a pass on how often particular biomes and enemy types spawn in Endgame Operations, to bring some balance and variety to what players typically encounter. Some environments, such as the Red Wastes, were overrepresented, whilst others were rarely encountered. For enemies, the Cult of Souls faction were the most encountered, whilst the Cult of Fury and Bandits were seen less often. We have also done a pass on the spawn rate of secondary dungeons in eligible Operation types. Some environments would not spawn a secondary dungeon, and thus deny the player access to a trade shrine and result in a prematurely full inventory. Where appropriate, there should now always be a secondary dungeon available. Balancing: Annihilation Skill Weapon Damage has been increased from 250% to 300%. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue where the Consequence Reversal Active Skill Modifier for Aether Jump would not remove Crowd Control effects. Fixed an issue where the Howl of Battle Active Skill Modifier for Flight of Gaavanir would not generate Rage on Hit if there was only one target. Fixed an issue where the Drums and Bells Skill Modifier for Flight of Gaavanir would not grand movement speed to the player. Fixed an issue where some elements of the minimap would still be visible when using the map overlay. Further improved the detail on Iosonic Rain's Active Skill Modifier tooltips. Fixed an issue where frenzied enemies would break the cardinal rule of entertainment media by attempting to attack the player's pet dog (or wolf, or tiger, or dragon). You. Do. Not. Hurt. The. Dog. Fixed an issue in Phase 1 of the Lambach encounter where the text indicating that the pods should be destroyed would be unhelpfully small. Fixed an issue in Game Settings where the "Reset to Default" button would not reset audio volume options. Changed the error message displayed when attempting to sell Enneracts to Demetra to be more helpful. Fixed an issue in Demetra's Skill Duplication menu where the selected skill would unintentionally change. Fixed an issue where some menus could be opened during cinematics. Fixed an issue on gamepad which prevented full navigation of the Skills & Modifiers screen. Fixed an issue where some level 80 versions of the Imbued Legacy of the Willbreaker unique shield had a level requirement of 60. Fixed an issue where some level 80 versions of the Imbued Prototype: Deliverance V2 unique weapon had a level requirement of 60. Fixed an issue where menus could be unintentionally opened whilst the chat box is open. Fixed a series of issues which could arise from kicking a player out of a multiplayer session whilst the joinee was loading in. Fixed an instance of missing SFX Various Localisation fixes. Various crash fixes. Hotfix - Patch 1.1.7.5Apr 28, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGreetings, Ascended! This is a small hotfix for two outstanding issues from 1.1.7.5. Please note that your game version will not change. Pushed a new localisation file to restore broken text in the Stomfall overview and War Table UIs in non-English versions of the game on PC. Stings of Krearion has been tuned back down to a more reasonable power level. However, it has been left more potent than it was before 1.1.7.5, with a 300% Skill Weapon Damage (up from 200% pre-patch).
