Come and Play Winter Survival at G-Fusion 2024 on May 18th and 19th!May 6, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/38695406/c1efba2256c3f830fcd941236fc01e85dc8ad6b1.jpg How’s it going? We are thrilled to announce that Winter Survival is going to attend the video game fest called G-Fusion 2024 in Guangzhou, China! G-Fusion is a video game fest hosted by GCORES. Winter Survival will be exhibited at booth on May 18th and 19th . We can’t wait to see you there! G-Fusion 2024 Website Ticket PurchaseGame Update #11 is here!Apr 30, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsImprovements Disabled camera sway during placement of objects to allow more precise placement. Left Wall Slope / Right Wall Slopes should now be rotatable (Q and R keys by default). New animation set when limping while there are no items in hand when afflicted with "Sprained Ankle". Balancing Adjusted jump height so that it feels like you can actually jump properly. Some of the “jump puzzles” have been adjusted accordingly. This change has actually been done in game update #10 already, but was missing in the patch notes. Drinking from the canteen will now restore thirst 2.5x faster (~4 seconds to fill full bar at default settings). So drinking speed from the canteen is more in-line with the drinking speed from a river. Heat gain while positive increased 5x (you should be able to warm up much faster in any situation where you are warm). You will no longer gain insanity when cold if you are gaining heat. The insanity circle for heat will stop as long as your heat is rising. Stack size on Stone, Flint, Large Stone, Wooden Log Chunk, Large Branch and Branch increased to 100 in order to take less slots since you are likely carrying or storing a large amount of these. Berry Bushes will now grant you 3-5 berries instead of 5-8. Berries now restore 1 hunger and 1 thirst instead of 5 to reduce reliance on berries as main food / thirst source. Rosa Fruit adjusted to 2 instead of 5 as it is more rare. Fox will now run away with higher speed if noticing the player or wolf. Bugfixes Fixed torch durability not always showing the correct amount when interacting with Torch Holder. Removed debug "flying red ball" that could appear in various places. Removed wrong 'version' from the Main Menu (it was showing v1.0.0 in bottom right side). Fixes to limping animations with spear and canteen when ankle is broken. Removed random Borscht lying on the floor in Fox Glade. Fixed an issue where you could get stuck on Sickness scenario if you put syrup recipe fragments into the chest. Fixed an issue where "Shelter Campfire" would always 'visually' be on and have no sound regardless of actual state. Fixed an issue where Infected Wound could keep coming back repeatedly even after removing it. Fixed an issue in Story mode with Bonfire where adding resources sometimes did not complete the objective properly or replaced the bonfire for an interactive one. Crashes Fixed a crash related to an invalid event trying to be triggered when saving, loading, or triggering during gameplay. Fixed a crash related to Item Holding. Fixed a crash with Alert widget when animal despawns. Fixed a crash that could occur when crafting Trolley Storage Upgrade. Visuals Adjusted textures on Trolley Crafting Station to be nicer. Minor tweak to grass and snow brightness. Fog values adjusted slightly. Fox Snack model updated. Changed the mesh of the Bridge near Trolley Gate / Fox Glade. Game Update #10 - Combat and Trolley ReworkApr 25, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsNew & Improvements The Combat System has been reworked to offer a smoother and more dynamic experience when fighting using a spear. We also tweaked a lot of the damage values to be in-line with all these changes (see Balance section). Block has been added to combat allowing you to block attacks and mitigate damage. Blocking drains stamina. By default, hold the Right Mouse Button to block. With the addition of Block, the Throw mechanic has been tweaked, too. Use the V key to change to throwing and charge the throw with the Left Mouse Button as before. If you don’t like V as the key to do so, please remap it to a key of your liking in the Options. We got rid of the disorienting animation when impaling. Impaling can now stun a target and the stunned state is now shown with a new Stunned marker on the animal. Dealing damage to the animal interrupts the stun. Wolves regained the ability to make the player bleed with a bite attack! 15% change to apply a bleed effect with bite attack and 10% with knockdown on Survivalist difficulty. 10% change to apply a bleed effect with bite attack and 5% with knockdown on Explorer difficulty. Trolley has seen various improvements. Apart from various smaller fixes and tweaks, we reworked the Trolley Switches and Levers. You now need a lever in order to activate a rail switch. Your previous switch settings have been reset with this update. Don’t worry though, you’ll find the levers close to the corresponding switch. The switches also have new visuals and they now show the direction they have been switched to. Trolley Torch Holder Upgrade - we added an additional upgrade to the Trolley, now you’ll have a source of light to ride through tunnels and in the night without the need to drain batteries on your flashlight.. Trolley Storage Chest - another upgrade for the Trolley allowing you to have a mobile storage with 600 storage capacity. Both upgrades are available in the Trolley Upgrade station in Endless mode upon reaching Adaptation level 25. Compass and Compass Markers - now you can use compass markers to navigate around the environment. In Endless mode you can find the compass hidden in the environment, but in Story mode you’ll get it along with your other equipment in the backpack. Recipes for Compass Marker are available on Adaptation level 10 in Endless mode and immediately after finding the Compass in the Story. Wooden and Stone Markers can be crafted, so no matter where you are, the necessary resources should be easily available. Interact with the crafted and placed Compass Markers to select icons and colors that will indicate this location on your compass and make your navigation easier. Foxes - we added a new inhabitant to the Fox Glade which is the area in Endless that you can find behind a Trolley Gate. It may be hard to hunt it with a spear, but try to use the newly added Fox Snack to lure it into a trap. The Fox Snack is craftable on Adaptation level 9 in Endless mode. Added a schematic for a small Spear Ho...Game Updates for the Next Two WeeksApr 19, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThere will not be an update for the weekend today as we are working on larger updates for the end of next week and the following week. And we’d like to take a moment to give you a preview of the things that you can expect in terms of game updates over the next few weeks: Combat Rework We have reworked the combat system quite significantly. The aim was to make combat smoother and slightly more dynamic. A good example is impaling with the spear. While it made some sense for your character to fall on his butt when impaling a wolf, the recovery time and looking sideways while falling turned out to be rather disorienting. We have thus reworked combat starting with the spear as it is currently the primary weapon. It is much smoother now, we added block, made tweaks to throwing and also stats. Axe will be next. We never intended for the axe to be a weapon as such, but will now lean more in that direction. Trolley Trolley is intended to take on a more important part of the game in the future, to become the basis of a mobile base. Apart of more fixes and tweaks, we are adding new functionality and mechanics to the trolley. Storage is one such thing so you can have mobile storage. We are even adding a holder for a torch to the trolley so you don’t have to relay on batteries when it gets dark (that’s why we increased torch duration in update #5). There is also a mechanics coming where your trolley might suffer damage or break, along with new items to loot in order to perform the necessary repairs. Side Quests Side quests are coming to the game and will either lead you to explore some special places or add new smaller locations. The idea is also for side quests to provide some unique rewards. Side Quests will be available both in Story and Endless Mode. Survival Adventure Speaking of Endless mode, we will rename it to Survival Adventure since the name Endless was a really bad choice. We also make it the first selection and Story the second one. In the future (after Story Act II) we will be adding more scenarios to this mode to have more interesting choices than Sickness and House scenarios. The idea here is to add scenarios that introduce players to different ways to survive and play the game. New Animals We know we need a better variety when it comes to animals and we will be adding new ones, starting with foxes and mountain goats. While some will not have any special behaviours, some others will be more complex. Case in point the fox. It will react to wolves in the vicinity and the fox will be different when hunting it. You can’t trap it by placing a trap and put some bait in it. It’s a cunning animal and it will steal the bait. You will however be able to attract it with a special bait in your hand and for example place a trap in front of you. Those are the highlights of what’s coming next week and the week after. Some smaller things not explicitly mentioned above build upon the changes to combat, so we can't release them before releasing the combat chang...Hotfix for load issueApr 13, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsThis hotfix should fix the issue of some players being unable to load certain saved games caused by an item that got corrupted with game update #9. Should you still encounter the problem of not being able to load your saved game or crashing upon loading it, please send us your saved games to [email protected] You saved games are located in the %LOCALAPPDATA%\WSS\Saved\SaveGames\Survivor\ folder. Update #9 ready for the weekend.Apr 12, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsNew & Improvements You can now mark your Favorite Schematic in the Crafting Tab. Added Leather Patch recipe at adaptation level 31 allowing you to repair the 4th tier of clothes. Added detailed description for ‘RRI’ in the Journal. Improved UI hints for repairing damaged clothing with repair patches. Chicken of the Forest Tea recipe is now added to the booklet when you pick up the mushroom for the first time. This change does not work retroactively, yet. Added ‘Other’ tag to the list of displayed death causes. Added a loot table to "road kill" wolves, meaning wolves killed by the trolley. Added new checkpoint and clear reset point to the “Footsteps of a Friend” quest. The path to the Overgrown Village has been reworked to make it more visible. Balance Stone throw damage has been reduced . Changed rabbit HP, so it’s still killable with single stone throw , but the stone not being overpowered for unintended purposes. Added the correct weight for the foundation item for the endless home scenario . Adjusted weight of various items: rabbit skin dried rabbit skin rabbit foot boar skin dried boar skin broken boar tusk deer skin dried deer skin deer antlers broken antlers wolf skin dried wolf skin animal bone small animal bone fur pieces Bugfixes Blocked possibility of starting Cold Wave with the use of keyboard shortcuts. You don’t need to click twice to close the end screen at the end of Story. Fixed a bug that could cause you get under the game world when sliding down the rope near the first hot springs. Fixed secondary interaction problem with character picking up the snow. Fixed issue with exploration music after Mike jumped off the cliff. Update #8 arrived!Apr 8, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsNew & Improvements You should now be able to track clothes durability in the Status screen. Drinking "Hot Water" will now remove "Core Coldness". You will now receive a message when trying to place a campfire on a foundation that is not supported. Added option in the menu to disable screen prompts (eg. "Not enough resources") - by default it is disabled, so screen prompts show. Mushrooms and Salt Crystals now are consistent with other gathered resources and have an interaction time rather than being instant pickup. Note: there might be some cases where old crystals / mushrooms will still appear in the same place once you had them respawned in the save game. After you pick them up again they should no longer respawn and only the new ones should exist from there on. We did a bit of work on the Trolley in Endless mode, overhauled a few systems in order to prepare the Trolley for future updates as there is quite a bit to come for our Trolley both in Endless and later in Story Act II. While you can’t see most of it in the game in this update, while reworking the states for the rail switches, these are now handled differently so their state should now save and load correctly. In Endless mode all levers have been set to always work and be unlocked from the start - for the time being. Upon release of Story Act II is released, the functionality of levers will change. Also, the pieces of destructible objects smashed up by the Trolley (like the tunnel entrance barricades) should now disappear after a while and no longer block the trolley movement if unfortunately positioned. Balance Cargo drop event duration has been adjusted and now lasts 50% longer, so you have more time to head out and search for the cargo drop. Adjusted weight of various items: Cave Moss Animal Bone Small Animal Bone Fur Pieces Bone Needle Fabric Metal Wire Bugfixes Blocked the Unstuck feature while driving a trolley, climbing a rope, pulling a box or climbing a ladder to prevent unexpected issues and unwanted behaviour. Fixed wrong mesh and name for cargo chest. Cloth Path description changed - describing that it can be used for specific subset of clothes. Pieces of destructible objects smashed up by the Trolley (like the tunnel entrance barricades) should now disappear after a while and no longer block the trolley movement if unfortunately positioned. Visuals Minor visual fixes along the riverbanks. Fixed a hole in Act I cave. New icons for bandage and wolf meat. Game Update #7 is here!Mar 29, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsNew & Improvements A new cave added in Story Act I area in both Story and Endless game mode. Fabric Bedroll has a new mesh so it actually represents an unrolled bedroll. If you have a schematic / recipe in quickslot you can now hold the quickslot button to show the materials needed by the specific recipe (for a quick lookup). There will now be a message on screen when trying to use flashlight, but have no battery. New schematics will have a golden outline to show them as new when seeing them for the first time. Balance Rebalanced gains for Leather Straps recipes so that bigger skins give more straps (Wolf: 8x, Boar: x10, Deer: x12). Changed the amount of planks required for the "Wooden Halfwall" (from 10 to 6), "Wooden Quarterwall" (from 10 to 3) and "Wooden Ceiling" (from 10 to 8). Bugfixes Fixed an issue where you could throw a spear through the 'Red Tree'. Fixed an issue where Coimetrophobia - Fear of the Graves sound was not playing properly. Fixed some of the reported floating grass/foliage issues. Fixed an issue with a few stew recipes where they had wrong names in them. Fixed an issue where you could put an item into the chest and still have that item equipped after. Collisions changed on some drawers for them to be less likely to push the player around when opened often resulting in jittery camera movements. Fixed an issue where the Fur Patch did not repair clothes in all cases. Removed Trauma removal from Sugar. It not only didn’t work correctly, but we are looking at alternative ways to allow limited reduction of Trauma in a more meaningful way. Removed "PROLOGUE" wording from the Load Game Interface and show Difficulty setting in its place instead. Fixed an issue where averaging freshness would not take the amount of items in the stack into account. Fixed an issue where on older save games the trolley would have a detached or misaligned cowcatcher which would make it impossible to break through the barricade at the end of the tunnel in Endless mode. Fixed an issue where Fire Cover would not save properly. Added better icons for Spoiled Mushroom, Spoiled Tea and Garlic, Sap Torch and Leather Scrap. Fixed an issue where you could walk under the foundations if placed on uneven ground. Battery widget should now disappear from the UI when the battery runs out. Fixed issue where preplaced furniture would not count for completion of quests in Home Scenario. Fixed an issue where "Craft the Wall" was not completable in Tutorial after changing the recipe for Wooden objects. Fixed issue where "Thatch Door" was called "Wooden Door". Prevented extinguishing the fire in the Introduction section of the story. Fire Cover and furniture now properly display tooltip when being destructed by hammer. Moss will no longer rotate when respawning (Might still be rotated in old save games). Liberty Cap will now spoil to the correct spoiled item. Fixed a broken interaction tooltip for killed animals. Food containers are now given back properly even when being ad...Upcoming Game UpdatesMar 27, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsWith Easter coming up, we have to alter our schedule for game updates/patches for this and next week. We decided to skip the early week update we intended to do today and roll its content into a larger game update this Friday. Similarly, there won’t be a smaller update right after Easter, but again a larger one at the end of next week. Going forward, we also want to change how we approach updating the game. The idea is to have a smaller game update early in the week (on a Tuesday in most cases) that will mostly focus on balancing and tweaks (unless there is a critical and time sensitive issue that requires fixing). That smaller update will be followed a much larger and more significant game update at the end of the week (on a Friday in most cases). These end of the week updates will contain new things and bigger changes and improvements. “Why the change?” you might wonder. We are not slowing down, quite the opposite actually as we are approaching the point where we will be adding new content to the game soon and this in turn requires more testing internally. It will be more efficient for us to split game updates into lighter ones early in the week and heavy ones at the end of a week since many of the bigger changes and fixes simply require more testing. So the bigger things get more time in testing throughout the week rather than just a couple of days.Hotfix v12735Mar 22, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHotfix v12735 Just a tiny hotfix to address one issue that didn't make it into today's update: Fixes an issue that caused crafted beds to not save correctly. Game Update #6 just arrivedMar 22, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update #6 We listened for the feedback about the game's pricing. Quite a lot of players feel the price was fine for what the game is going to offer after the content on the road map has been delivered, but is not justified for what the game is offering now. While we are willing to concede this point when it comes to Story mode, the majority of the game happens in Endless mode and unfortunately too many player don't even look at it. We have thus decided to lower to price of Winter Survival to $18.99 and hopefully people will give it another shot, if not now then at least when the next discount comes around together with the release of Story Act II. New You can now open the Adaptation screen directly. The default key bind is "N". Added notification on screen when there is a disorder to recover in the Adaptation screen. Destroying storage items with a hammer now drops the bag with a timer that allows you to temporarily retrieve resources. Added a message when Unstuck is not possible due to combat. Added soup buffs to the journal for information purposes. Item splitting has been improved. You can split a stack of items by half by clicking RMB with shift as before, but also: CTRL + RMB to split a single item from the stack. ALT + RMB splits 5 items from the stack. Balance Added and adjusted some more unstuck points. Increased Storage Wardrobe capacity to 300 (up from 220). Decreased Large Storage Chest capacity to 200 (down from 250). If you have any items in chests that are above the max weight limit (after this change), they will still be in that chest, but you can't add any more items to that chest until you get the chest below the new limit. Bowls are now required for taking soup and stews off the campfire with you into the wild. You can still eat it directly from where you cooked it without a bowl. Bugfixes Fixed an issue where input could be partially blocked after throwing a spear during Wolf Attack. Fixed an issue that prevented Blackberries from spoiling correctly. Dragging recipes from quick slots in the Crafting Menu will now have proper icons. Fixed a bug where the "Footsteps of Friends" quest would stay on screen after being finished. Fixed another issue related to the health bar in the status tab. Fixed an issue where food containers and food in campfires would visually stay even after the campfire has been destroyed. Locked rails that allowed you to fall through the world around the Large Gate area. Various small gamepad adjustments. Slightly moved buff icons so they're less likely to overlap with the temperature widget when having percentages and names enabled by pressing "R". Fixed an issue where Felt Temperature was not updating correctly when equipping or unequipping clothes. Furniture (Table and Chair) will now save properly. Fixed an issue with mouse input not being available when dying in Wolf Combat in some cases. Fixed animation clipping issues in various hiding spots. Fixed an issue where a challenge’s description might b...Game Update #5 is here!Mar 19, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update #5 (v12398) Unstuck feature and some important bug fixes along with further balancing changes/improvements. And we will go with normal update numbers going forward as nobody could remember the long build numbers anyway :P New Loot window now closes automatically when you press "Take All". "Unstuck" feature has been added to the In-game Menu. Its purpose is to free you when you get stuck somewhere and can't get out. It moves you to the nearest "safe location". Unstuck is not usable in combat. This is still EXPERIMENTAL. It is NOT intended for Story mode - while it could "unstuck" your character, it might break a story related quest or progression. A later update will make Unstuck compatible with Story mode. This feature is intended for Endless mode at this time, since players gained access to areas of the game world we haven't really intended for them to get access to just yet. Unlike Story mode, the game world in Endless is a lot larger and still changing, so there is risk of places where players might get stuck and unable to get out on their own. Balance Increased durability of Bone Knife, Stone Spear and Bone Spear. As these items are made from better materials and require a workbench to be crafted, they should last longer than their basic counterparts. The basic Torch received a slight increase in duration while the Sap Torch now lasts twice as long. Bone Jaw Trap recipe no longer requires leather straps, but instead requires Rope. Wooden Shelter Building Parts now require nails and wooden planks instead of rope and large branches. Amount of metal scraps and nails across all areas increased to compensate for increased requirements now (i.e. nails for wooden shelter parts) and future recipe changes. Changed threshold of the stench debuff to trigger activation at 66% of smell value instead of 50%. Made some resources in Home scenario area also to be available in other scenarios / game modes and not exclusive to Home scenario. Nails now weigh 0.1 instead of 1.0 (we are rebalancing weights of items in general, so you’ll see some changes over the next updates). Bugfixes Fixed an issue with the save system where Trauma and some other stats have increased or decreased incorrectly upon loading a saved game when using custom difficulty. Fixed an issue where clothes displayed wrong stats in the tooltip while in inventory slots (the stats on the tooltip shown on equipped clothes were correct). Fixed an issue where drawbridges would not save properly and reset to their original state on loading a saved game. Fixed an issue when an animal could not be looted if you already looted it (without taking items), saved and loaded that saved game. Fixed an issue when drying a Deer Skin, would return the same Deer Skin rather than the intended Dry Deer Skin. Fixed descriptions of Winter Wheat and Flour. Fixed an issue where Tanning Solution would require the wrong type of water. Fixed an issue where burning venison would make it turn into Burned Pancake...Game Update v12211 ready for the weekend!Mar 15, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update v12211 New You should be able to destroy Beds, Storage Chests, Drying Lines, Item Holders, Drying Racks, Sap Tap, Fire Covers, Furniture (Chair, Table) and Crafting Tables with the hammer now. . Note: if you find individual items you would expect to be destroyed that can't be destroyed, please report it. Toy Train and Broken Bowl can be used as fuel for fires. More items to follow in the future. Added two new recipes: Break Branch - allows turning 1x Large Branch into 2x Branch. Break Stone - allows turning 1x Large Stone into 3x Stone. These recipes will require a hammer in Endless mode in a future update/hotfix, for now they work without a hammer in Endless the same way they are intended to work in Story mode. Balance Crafting Sharpened Softwood Stick (Spear) is now available at Adaptation level 4 in Endless mode. A reminder here: a spear is more like a last resort to defend yourself - it is a tool for hunting. The most effective means to deal with wolves is swinging a lighted torch to keep wolves at bay or to scare a wolf away. Throwing snowballs directly at a wolf will now put them into combat state. Reduced the capacity of chests in the world to be in-line with the crafted ones. XP is no longer awarded when crafting construction objects and then cancelling them. XP is only gained when the object is indeed placed. Added a few extra Garlic spawn points across the game world to make RRI Syrup more easily craftable. Cave Moss now respawns. Added more Cave Moss nodes in various caves. Tuned respawn times of various resources (mushrooms, tall grass, rocks - the ones with interaction time) to be slightly lower. Changed RRI Syrup recipe to be available on level 5 on Endless mode instead of Level 17. (New) Cure is now available to be crafted at level 17 instead of having to be found in the wild. Note: Sickness scenario still has its own way of obtaining these and those remain unaffected. Bugfixes Dead animals should now properly store their inventory on save/load if they have been interacted with but not looted. Campfires should now return proper resources per campfire when destroyed by hammer rather than generic ones. Fixed an issue where Wolf was not able to be skinned with a Bone Knife properly. Fixed several quest issues in "Sickness Scenario" which should now be smoother regardless of order of syrups found. Fixed a mistake in the Home scenario where "Proper Campfire" was required to be built, but instead Shelter Campfire made more sense. Added Wooden Ceiling and Slopes to the Adaptation system. They become available at Adaptation level 28 (Ceiling) and Adaptation level 29 (Wood Slopes and Roof). Looted animals should now despawn correctly when you move a far enough distance away from them. Removed a limit of 20 cyclical saves (was limited for testing purposes). We are still investigating potential issues with potentially disappearing checkpoint saves. Backup your saves occasionally and/or save often on beds/campfires until we can ver...Game Update v12119 arrived!Mar 14, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update v12119 New Clock added to the Status tab to show more precise time of day. Added basic spear crafting recipe to Act I (in shelter). Campfires should now be destroyable by hammer (more items to be added soon). Currently all campfires will return the same resources. In an upcoming update they should return the intended resources, but we wanted to get this functionality out asap rather than waiting for everything to be done). Balance Large storage chest now has capacity of 250 instead of 80 (which was smaller than small storage chest now). Changed recipe for basic spear (softwood stick) to allow it to be hand/self-crafted, meaning requiring no workbench. The recipe requires a large branch and a stone knife (in a future update any knife will do). The knife will not be consumed in the precess, since you are just sharpening a stick. Bugfixes Fixed an issue where temperature would be significantly lower than expected after exiting shelters (-10° extra to the intended temperature) in Endless mode. Animals should no longer spawn from "Cooking Outside Event" as long as campfire is in shelter or a cave at the moment of it being lit up. Fixed an issue where "Cooking Outside Event" spawning of Bear or Boar could trigger prematurely. (In story mode it should only be unlockable around Bonfire quest time). Fixed an issue where event spawned animals (Cooking Outside, Sleeping Outside) would stay forever and cause potential pile up of animals in an area. Running away a good distance from the area should make them go away. Fixed an issue where stamina would stop being regenerated after dodge (There still seem to be a few potential ways to bug this out. We are looking for more reproduction steps on how this happens). Fixed an issue where through crafting we could stack items at higher than intended stack sizes which could lead to errors, or even crashes. Fixed an issue where animals would look 'alive' after being killed and skins being relootable. (Their bodies will still stay there forever for the moment, we will fix this in future hotfix). Blocked usage of Quickslot Items during traversals which could lead to getting stuck or losing input. Temporarily removed fox skins from loot tables until foxes are fully added to the game. Removed "Large Campfire" recipe that could sneak into player crafting booklets. Remnants of the old Prologue / Demo. Fixed one case where we could lose sound completely after going into the adaptation screen (Core). Fixed an issue with fuel item (branches etc.) duplicating on loading a save game. (There still might be some in world from older save data, but new ones should no longer duplicate). Fix for Leather Waterskin not being craftable. Visuals Fixed an issue where after hitting a specific tree its trunk would not match its stump and a minor texture fix for one of the trees. Fixed an issue with texture on bridge pillars. UI Bait Widget had a visual update. Added visual representation for items for how many will be crafted when...Winter Survival is available on GeForce Now!🔥Mar 13, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHey, survivors! ❄️ While most of you probably enjoy the game on Steam, we'd like to let you know that Winter Survival is available on GeForce Now as well. The quick fixing of the crash issues was possible thanks to everyone using the crash reporting tool. So keep doing it :) Balancing The Story Woodcutter Hut Shelter when sleeping now restores: +14 energy per hour slept (was +12). The thirst and hunger gains have been reduced to -1 thirst per hour (was -3) and -6 hunger per hour (was an outrageous -14) respectively. Heat loss reduced to -3 heat per hour (was -6). Endless mode and craftable beds have been rebalanced similarly. Stability Fixed a crash when toggling Instinct Mode on/off while being near certain items. Fixed a crash related to setting weather data on events. Game Update v11769 has arrived!Mar 12, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update v11769 New Added custom difficulty slider for XP gained on cutting trees. When a new debuff / buff is gained, its name should now be shown on the UI for a short period of time. Few treasure sites are added to Story Act I and Endless Modes. Semi-Automated Crash Report system has beed added. When crashing you can now utilize the Crash Reporter itself ("Send and Close" or "Send and Restart") to send us the crash reports directly which should help with finding and resolving crashes faster in the future. Balance Increased the fuel capacity of campfires by 50% - which should make them last longer. Increased storage Woodcutter Hut chest capacity to 150, and craftable Small Storage Chest to 100. Respawn time of most plants and mushrooms increased as most would respawn before the previous spoil. Increased spoil time on meat and cooked items so they last longer. Bugfixes Fixed a bug where Bone Spear was not craftable. Fixed an issue where dried skins would show up in booklet as a craftable recipe. Fixed an issue where you could duplicate items by transferring them while dragging them. Character no longer has hammer between legs in Inventory Screen. Made more random items not be able to be put on quickslot if they don't have an use. Fixed an issue where Fur Clothes required Materials that were only craftable at a later level. Fixed an issue where rope that had interaction disabled, re-enabled itself when loading game. Fixed an issue where Insanity Gain Multiplier was not properly being applied to the slider in Custom Difficulty settings. Fixed an issue that prevented Spears show up in the Weapons/Tools tab in the Inventory when filtering. Stability Fixed a crash related to nullptr item in inventory. Fixed a crash related to drying skins on the skin rack when loading. Fixed an issue with FPS drop after loading in specific circumstances (Duplication of Item Holders). Fixed an issue when dropped items after loading a saved game could be picked up many times, leading to fake items in inventory and causing crashes in the long run. There is still an issue with branches / fuel items that we are resolving for next update or hotfix. Localization Fixed an issue with Korean (welcome screen now shows the continue button correctly). Fixed an issue with Chinese and Korean where books could not be readable directly from inventory. That's it for today. We are off to work on the next update...Game Update v11659 is here!Mar 8, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsGame Update v11659 New Added Hot Water recipe to allow creating drinkable water that does not make you lose heat, but gain heat instead. It requires normal water that you can find anywhere from your canteen. You can drink that Hot Water directly from any campfire or pick it up and carry it around in a Cup (craftable item). In Story mode Hot Water recipe should be available after the first night. Added ability to save the game on Campfires, too. Insanity Gain Multiplier avaliable in custom difficulty settings for Endless mode. Balance Glue Stick recipe added when the player picks up sap. Both in Story and Endless. Will not be available if you already looted sap in Story mode before. A retroactive addition will be added in a future hotfix). Sap drop rate from trees increased. Removed Fox Skin Drying recipe from Drying Racks until foxes are added. More Ivy added to Boar Biome (Endless). Increased the capacity of the Canteen from 200 to 300 (50% increase). Hot Springs temperature increased further. Insanity gains reduced by 20% in Survivalist and 60% in Explorer mode. Insanity heavily reduced on being "Cold" by 87.5% and reduced from being "Icy" by 50%. No change when Freezing. Weight on many items has been readjusted. Adjusted fuel values on many burnable items so they grant more fuel (most of the fuel values have been doubled and sometimes even tripled). Finishing quests now awards XP. Objects can now be placed in the Sawmill. Spear throw damage increased by 50% in Survivalist difficulty. It should take about 2 hits in Explorer and 3 hits in Survivalist to kill a wolf by throwing. Even less when hitting the head as the damage here becomes even higher. Next week additional spear and combat changes will follow. Nails and nail boxes now have higher stack amounts. Remember, you can open nail boxes to extract nails. Reminder You can press "R" to see % of your stats and extra information on HUD. Bugfixes Fixed another issue related to Wolves duplicating in Story mode after Quick Resets. You should no longer get a random axe head in the inventory when axe gets destroyed (Legacy problem from original demo). Fixed destroying campfires, when removing walls or other building objects as they were wrongly detecting overlap. Removed ability to put Big Stone into quickslot since it does not have any function. Fixed an UI issue related to showing wrong health in Status tab when custom difficulty options were enabled. Minor fixes related to changing difficulties when using custom difficulty. Fixed an issue where you could pick up items from campfires without necessary containers (Cup, Bowl). We are looking for feedback on this system in general. Should no longer play "Ow, my ankle" text and voice lines when Wolf gets trapped or when getting overloaded with weight. Fixed an issue ...New Update coming tomorrow!⚒️Mar 7, 2024 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/38695406/33455a16dfa479913f507a55f1867c7697a861d4.jpg While we planned to release another update to the game today, we added a bit more to it than initially planned (based on the many suggestions we've received) and will hence release it tomorrow evening. That being said, I’d like to give you some of the highlights from tomorrow’s update so you’ll hopefully have something to look forward to: We will address the problem of Icy Water in canteens allowing you to warm it up and drink warm water. Storage chest will be craft-able earlier in story mode. We've rebalanced spears significantly. More in tomorrow's patch notes. Rebalancing of trauma/insanity generated from Cold Related effects will be reduced as well as trauma/insanity gains from all effects. You will even be able to disable it completely in Endless mode. Fuel gains from branches and other small burnable stuff will see a significant increase You'll be able to save at any campfire instead of only beds to make saving more accessible, except during combat. Like mentioned, these are just some of the things from tomorrow’s update. There is quite a bit more that is still being worked on and some even already tested. Rest assured, we're still gathering as much feedback as possible from you, folks, so keep those comments coming. We're reading them almost 24/7. ~Your humble marketing guy - SewekHotfix v 0.1.0 is here🐛Mar 6, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsBalance: Adjusted the amount of food and water given to the player after first Sleep in story mode to make it more forgivable.
