Warplanes WW1 Fighters

Warplanes: WW1 Fighters – graphics update is now availableApr 5, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsWe continue to improve Warplanes: WW1 Fighters, which has been a huge success thanks to a great community. Our goal is to improve the entire Warplanes trilogy. Each game has taught us something. We try to utilize gained experience retroactively, updating older titles and implementing features we developed more recently. We don't want any group of fans to feel left behind. We strive to ensure that fans of WW1 Fighters, Battles over Pacific and Air Corp have the best experience possible. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39832566/1cdbf8cb0b3c76bf877657c7d21ccb889bb5048f.png This time, the changes mainly focus on graphics. As you have noticed the build weighs more. That's thanks to high-resolution terrain textures and new trees, so you'll be dogfighting over better-looking, more diverse terrain. Subtle tweaks in lighting should improve the overall graphics quality. Terrain generation has been improved, making it smoother. We've improved the look of cities by replacing textures and adding new buildings. Changelog: ● New hi-res terrain and tree textures. ● Dynamics shadows on player planes. ● Improved lighting. ● Improved cities – new buildings and textures. ● Takeoffs and landings physics tweaks. ● Adjustment of several airplanes specs. ● Various bug fixes and improvements. We hope that you’ll enjoy the changes. Until next time pilots!Warplanes: WW1 Fighters – multiplayer update 4.3 is now liveOct 3, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWe are pleased to announce that the 4.3 update for Warplanes: WW1 Fighters is now available for download. We focused on the wishes of our dear community that continues to wage epic battles in multiplayer mode. One of the most common wishes was the ability to choose maps in multiplayer mode. The host can now choose from 25 locations known from the singleplayer and co-op modes. We refreshed each map and added cities and other buildings, roads and rails. Of course, anti-aircraft artillery has been disabled so as not to affect the balance of gameplay. You will also notice a compass in the cockpit. The design is based on historical references. The Central Powers and the Entente have their own unique models. By default, the compass case is fixed, but you can unlock its realistic rotation caused by gravity in the Settings. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39832566/373b21887ee819a61d9f45f5614421bb6ebcf270.png Multiplayer now has an option present in the legacy version – the host can set the limit of respawns. We've also added the Team Flare Mayhem mode to give you more options to play. Full Changelog: New mode: Team Flare Mayhem. Selectable maps in multiplayer mode. All maps have been refreshed; cities, buildings, railroads, ships, etc. have been added. The cockpit of the aircraft includes a compass. In addition, in the Settings player can unlock the movement of the entire compass. The host can set the limit of respawns in a session as in Legacy Multiplayer. In Legacy Co-Op mode, the host can set the number of players. Various bug fixes and improvements. We look forward to your feedback and would like to thank you for your continued support. For now we’ll focus on Warplanes: Air Corp, and we encourage you to follow the development of this production. Of course support for Warplanes: WW1 Fighters will continue.Improved graphics and new Multiplayer – update 4.0 now availableOct 20, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsUpdate 4.0 is now available. It introduces a number of changes and fixes that revamp the game and add new functionality to the multiplayer. It is the biggest update to Warplanes: WW1 Fighters and we have been working on it for the last 3 months. The change you will definitely notice is the graphics. We released the first version of the game in January 2020. Since then we have learned a lot. We utilized this knowledge for Warplanes: Battles over Pacific, and now we want to revamp the first installment of Warplanes as well. We improved the skies, shaders and terrain, aircraft lighting, and reflections in the water. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39832566/a08afda33233d297d68d288bba014d44de0e11af.png The biggest changes have reached the multiplayer mode. We listened to your feedback and in order to introduce some of the desired functionality, we had to take a bold step and created standalone multiplayer. At the moment, the game has two modes – Multiplayer launched from the main menu and Legacy Multiplayer, the core rules of which have remained unchanged, but it too has received features and new content. Legacy Multiplayer (available, as before, from within the Campaign) We added a second board so that you can manage your planes in an intuitive and easy way. We added a requested feature of enabling friendly fire in the Team Deathmatch, Co-Op and Raid modes. 15 new maps available for PvP modes. NOTE: In Legacy Multiplayer planes are shared with the Singleplayer mode. Multiplayer (new, launched from the main menu) All planes are available from the start and are fully upgraded. Player gains experience that unlocks more ranks. Ranks unlock new decals (over 60 new pictures!). Host can select which planes are allowed in the session. This gives you the possibility to exclude some planes or even to create a session with only one playable plane. We added a requested feature of enabling friendly fire in the Team Deathmatch, Co-Op and Raid modes. Added favorite bar in the respawn window. You can add up to 3 planes to favorites and pick a respawn plane swiftly. 15 new maps available for PvP modes are of course also present in the new Multiplayer. Important Information Leaderboards have not been reset. The modes are compatible with each other – players from the new Multiplayer as well as Legacy Multiplayer can play with each other. The exception is for the new Multiplayer sessions with the Allowed Planes option enabled. This feature is only available in the new Multiplayer. There are no differences in game balance between modes. We hope that you’ll enjoy the new update. Since the update required a lot of changes, please let us know if you encounter any bugs or problems. Feel free to use our support form or leave a note on our Discord. Warplanes: WW1 Fighters – first Steam discount, price increase and future plansJul 25, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsDear Steam Community, We’d like to share some updates on Warplanes: WW1 Fighters and our studio. As you may know, Warplanes: WW1 Fighters is also available for Oculus Quest devices on App Lab. We are proud to announce that due to positive feedback on App Lab and Steam, Warplanes will be available to purchase from the Oculus Store on July 29, 2021. How does it affect the Steam version? Of course the growing user base will revive multiplayer. The new store presence strengthens our position on the VR marketplace and allows us to allocate more resources into development of new projects and supporting released titles. We’d like to assure you that Warplanes: WW1 Fighters will be getting the same updates no matter the platform. We are strongly against platform exclusive content or DLC-s, therefore we don’t have plans to include such in any version. If the given platform holder doesn’t oppose it, the game still supports free cross-platform multiplayer. On July 29th, Warplanes: WW1 Fighters’ price will increase to $19.99 across all platforms. Our decision was based on many factors related to team expansion and funding of our future projects. We want to remain 100% independent and our back catalog is our main source of income. Before we increase the price, we decided to create a discount – all players that wishlisted our game on steam will get a notification and will be able to buy the game at a lower price. At the moment we are still working on Warplanes: WW1 Fighters. Certification for the Oculus Store allowed us to find some issues and tweak the game. The update will be released simultaneously with all platforms. After that, we’ll then focus on the next project, and supporting Warplanes: WW1 Fighters.Update 2.4 – multiplayer improvements and fixesJun 11, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsDear pilots! 2.4 update brings general stability improvements for the multiplayer mode. Warplanes: WW1 Fighters supports cross-platform multiplayer across PC (SteamVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Viveport) and Oculus Quest. Therefore providing the best experience for all devices was our top priority while working on this update. We addressed the disconnect issue while playing long sessions and some rare bugs we caught during additional testing sessions. See you online!Update 2.3 – Spectator modeMay 6, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsUpdate 2.3 is dedicated mostly to multiplayer mode and it fixes some minor bugs. Changelog Spectator mode added – now after reaching the limit of respawns you are placed in other players’ planes as a spectator. Switch between players using A/B/X/Y buttons (on most controllers). Matchmaking improvements. Information about about number of players and sessions is displayed while searching for open game. Fixed bug causing wrong position of the camera after exiting multiplayer (SteamVR only) Don't forget to join our Discord to meet new companions for multiplayer.Update 2.2 – Co-op Mission Editor and Quick Play modeApr 30, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsUpdate 2.2 is now available. After post-release hotfixes and implementing HOTAS support we needed some time to polish and optimize the game. Update is introducing Co-op Mission Editor allowing you to create missions and raids available in the multiplayer mode. We also adjusted the interface and hopefully made the navigation through the game easier. Finally a small feature: Quick Play mode. Press one button and a random mission, on a random plane will be launched. Perfect if you want to quickly show VR to your friend or just play one round when you have a short break. Changelog Co-op Mission Editor (beta) Quick Play mode. Settings are now available from the main menu. Controls help screen – quickly check the control scheme for your VR controller. Long press of any analog stick now resets the camera. Dead zone on analog sticks adjusted. Shaders optimization (improved performance on low-end machines). UI and UX improvements. Minor bug fixes. Co-op Mission Editor When you’ll launch Warplanes WW1 Fighters on Steam (not through SteamVR Home), a pop-up window will show – select Co-op Mission Editor. It's a standard “2D” application and it doesn't support VR. Editor is self-explanatory, you’ll be able to quickly create missions and raids (raid is created when you add more missions to the same campaign). Fully functional editor is also available in a demo version of the game. Update 2.1 – HOTAS and gamepads support, private lobbies in multiplayerMar 16, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThank you for reporting bugs and posting your ideas. We are humbled by a warm welcome on Steam, and thankful for feedback from a new group of players. Let’s start with a feature requested by the Steam community since the release – HOTAS and gamepads support. We are giving you a variety of customization options and hopefully you’ll be able to adjust controls to your preferences. Head to the settings to set up your device after first launch after the update. Please mind that your controller should be plugged in and turned on before launching the game. Otherwise it may not be detected. We are utilizing Revired plug-in to provide support for various controllers. Check the Revired compatibility list if your device is supported. HOTAS support is also available in the demo – let us know if you experience any issues or you want us to tweak something. Second requested feature are private lobbies in multiplayer. You can create a password protected room where you can invite your friends and play PvP or Co-op together. After the match is finished, you’ll end up in the same lobby together, so you play another round or even change the mode. If you are looking for partners for multiplayer we are inviting you to our Discord. Changelog HOTAS and gamepads support . Private multiplayer lobbies. Co-op gunner’s seat issue fixed. Junkers D.II stalling issue fixed. Rewards for Co-op missions increased. Further controllers compatibility improvements (WMR) PCVR only]. What’s next? We are working on a simple and intuitive mission editor that allows you to create Co-op raids and share them with the community. Another important task is polishing the UI and enhancing UX. After those changes the game should be more intuitive and simpler to navigate on. Hotfix 2.0.2, controller compatibility list and HOTAS supportMar 9, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsOn Friday we’ve released 2.0.1 hotfix for the most common issue with missing grip on VIVE Wands and WMR controllers. We are still getting reports that thumbsticks and some buttons on WMR controllers (ex. Lenovo Explorer) are not working properly – we’ll deal with those issues this week. Hotfix changelog VIVE Wands and WMR controllers – partial compatibility added. Resetting position issues fixed. Comfort mode on distant FOV adjustments. Pause during taking off bug – fixed. Number of devices makes testing of all configurations quite difficult – so any detailed reports are much appreciated. We are a small studio that just entered the VR market. We don’t want to treat you as testers, we don’t want to sell you a game that doesn’t work as you expect either. That’s why we released a demo and we kindly ask for your help. Controllers compatibility list – help needed This is our compatibility list. If you own hardware from a not supported list (Not tested controllers), we’d be extremely grateful if you could install the demo and report the issues and your hardware name. To make it easier, we also listed probable issues and expected behaviour for specific controllers. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39832566/cd4828ae02ac37bca2ec787fbf146d00675af2d9.png Tested controllers No compatibility issues known: Oculus Touch (Rift, Rift S, Quest, Quest 2) Valve Index VIVE Cosmos HP Reverb G2 Not tested controllers WMR controllers Lenovo Explorer Samsung HMD Odyssey+ Other WMR controllers Are there problems with the grip and punching machine gun handle (faster reload)? Is moving the left thumbstick up / down causes increasing / decreasing speed of the plane (alternative controls of virtual throttle from the cockpit). Is pressing the left thumbstick opens Steam overlay? Is pressing the menu button opens the pause menu (settings)? VIVE Wands (gen 1 and 2) Are there problems with the grip and punching machine gun handle (faster reload)? Is pressing menu button on the left controller is causing switching plane (2 planes must be unlocked and set to “Fly to mission”, possible in the demo) Is moving your finger up / down on the touchpad causes increasing / decreasing speed of the plane? Is pressing the left touchpad (click) copens pause menu (settings)? Is pressing the left system button opens Steam overlay? HOTAS support After resolving those issues we plan to work on HOTAS support starting with Thrustmaster T.16000M, after your initial feedback we’ll do our best to expand the list of supported devices. What's your expected controls with HOTAS support? Our idea is to combine motion controllers for menu navigation, dropping bombs, using flare gun, and add HOTAS for flaps and rudder. Let us know wthat you think. Thank you for your feedback and warm welcome on Steam!
