The leading strategy publisher has acquired the rights to the game’s engine and will work collaboratively with other developers to produce DLC broader in scope than anything released before. The studio’s relationship with Slitherine dates back to 2015, with the release of Star Hammer: the Vanguard Prophecy on PC. Moving forward, Black Lab Games will work on new projects that are still to be announced. Marco Minoli, Director of Publishing at Slitherine, said: “With Battlesector, Black Lab Games created one of the most tactically rich and comprehensive strategy games within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is still enjoyed by thousands of players today. We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to Black Lab Games for its hard work and unwavering dedication to the project over the last few years." “Looking to the future, Battlesector will remain a key title within Slitherine’s portfolio, and we’re excited to expand upon the game in new and exciting ways that players have yet to experience. Paul Turbett, CEO and Creative Director at Black Lab Games, said: “Having the opportunity to develop a game set in the iconic Warhammer 40,000 universe has been an amazing experience. We at Black Lab Games are grateful to Games Workshop for letting us play in their universe, to the players who have joined us on the journey so far, and to Slitherine for making it all possible. I can't wait to see where the game goes from here, and I'm confident it's in safe hands and has a bright future”. Playstation players can already buy the DLC, but it will be playable once the patch is made available. The T’au is the latest faction to step onto the battlefield of Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. The technologically advanced race has arrived to spread The Greater Good across the galaxy with 14 new units that are playable in the game’s dynamic campaigns, skirmishes, and in multiplayer. Specialising in long-ranged weaponry, the T’au has a diverse selection of unit types that use their technological prowess to gain the upperhand. Using its high-tech sensors, the XV88 Broadside Battlesuit can pinpoint enemy weak points that can be easily exploited. The XV25 Stealth Battlesuits can blend seamlessly into its surroundings to get the drop on foes and the formidable XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Team has access to a variety of devastating weapons. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39808373/60110a439f3597b249b4419d79f58917e6eaa25a.jpg Each of these units feature distinctive, finely crafted models and unique special abilities. In addition, players can access brand new HQ abilities that benefit the entire faction. Read more.Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - T'au DLC out on February 15thJan 30, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsT’au will arrive as a playable faction in Battlesector on February 15th. The young and technologically-advanced race is the latest playable faction in Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. Fourteen new units are available to extend the Greater Good to all the species of the galaxy. Assault Teams Pathfinders scout to prepare the battlefield for the Fire Warrior Strike and the Fire Warrior Breacher Teams. Their sophisticated target-painting technology allows them to hit even the most agile of targets. Those Teams are led into war by the Cadre Fireblade, whose presence amongst their ranks inspires them to fight even harder. Jet-boost Elites The XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Team is an armored elite who is ready to take down anyone who stands in their path, thanks to their wide range of weapons. Nobody is safe from the sneaky assault of the XV25 Stealth Battlesuits, ready to eliminate the targets with the burst cannon or the fusion blaster. These tough and well-armed suits boast jet-assisted speed that allows them to cross the battlefield in bounding leaps. A Battlesuits Force Advanced targeting systems in the T’au Battlesuits allow them to continue operating ranged weapons effectively, even when engaged in melee combat. The XV88 Broadside Battlesuit has a high-tech sensor that constantly analyzes enemies on the battlefield, providing the pilot with a myriad of weak spots to exploit. Enemies don’t have the time to react when the XV95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit approaches them with the Camouflage Field activated. It’s almost impossible to take the XV104 Riptide Battlesuit down. Its Shield Generator improves its survivability on the battlefield. Vehicles made for war The TX4 Piranha is armed with a Piranha Burst Cannon or a Piranha Fusion, while the Hammerhead Gunship is equipped with a Railgun or Ion Cannon. These Machines of war are often a double-edged sword; powerful when pointed towards your opponent, but dangerous when they themselves are destroyed. Due to the presence of powerful anti-gravitic thrusters and jet engines, this unit is prone to exploding when it has lost all of its health, damaging adjacent units indiscriminately. A life to the pursuit of the Greater Good The Ethereal is a member of the fifth caste of the T'au species, forming a ruling elite. The Sense of Stone, giving him a nigh-supernatural resilience, and the Zephyr’s Grace, allowing him to swiftly and silently move across the battlefield, make the Ethereal a resilient and inspiring leader. Strategic and aggressive, the T’au Commander can pilot a hulking heavily armored Enforcer Battlesuit, or a highly maneuverable Coldstar Battlesuit. Equipped with Burst Cannon (Enforcer) or High-output Burst Cannon (Coldstar) and the T’au Flamer. T’au Commanders are the heroes of the T’au Empire and its most effective leaders. As masters of the strategic arts T’au Commanders direct the forces under their command with great skill, allowing them to inflict maximum damage on the enemy. Every unit features distinctiv...Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Dev Diary #12Dec 1, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsDev Diary #12 - Servitors Deployed ++ Thought of the Day ++ Those without faith in the Emperor are but an empty vessel, a pointless husk; only through His will can your pitiful existence have meaning. A lot has happened since the last Dev Diary in March this year. Battlesector was displayed at Warhammer Fest in Manchester, featured in the Warhammer Skulls Festival to highlight the release of the Orks faction pack, and the Chaos Daemons of Khorne were released as a playable faction in late August. Despite that, our duty to the Emperor isn’t complete, so we are here to share some news about a massive upcoming feature that will be available for free to all Battlesector players. A feature that has been requested frequently, and one that we’ve always wanted to add was support for user-generated content (UGC). Recently, we’ve been working on a new Map Builder, that will allow any player to create and share their own custom maps. Using an easy-to-use in-game tool, you’ll be able to arrange terrain pieces to construct maps to your own design. You’ll start by configuring the maps’ size and ground type. You’ll also be able to control the map lighting settings, so whether you want to create a fog-shrouded manufactorum or a blazing desert on Baal Secundus, the choice is yours. You’ll also be able to configure which objective types are supported. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39808373/dcacb004e5e30d5eb82da9745bed9a24ba286007.gif Once you’ve made a map, you can share it with the world, via an in-game cross-platform upload system. Player-created maps - whether it’s one you create yourself or one you download - will be available for use in skirmish mode, multiplayer (Live and Asynchronous), or can be added to the pool of maps used when a new Planetary Supremacy campaign is generated. Finally, we plan to add the ability to join multiple maps together to create your own campaigns. There is still some way to go before this feature is ready, so look for an update early next year. We can’t wait to see what creations you come up with. - The Black Lab Games Team https://store.steampowered.com/app/1295500/Warhammer_40000_Battlesector/Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector - Primaris Invictor Tactical Warsuit out nowNov 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome back everyone, We have really exciting news for all the Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector fans. A towering slab of muscle and aggression, the Warboss is only rivalled in size by the Meganobz in their Big Mek built mega armour or the super stompy Deff Dreads. More Dakka Orks might not be famed for their accuracy but what they always bring is the most dakka and the Battlesector boyz are no different! Lootas wield heavy-duty Deffguns, that lay down terrifying amounts of dakka whilst the Flash Gitz love to show off their snazzy weapons that are right killy and give the enemy a solid krumpin’. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2305830/Warhammer_40000_Battlesector__Orks/ Warhammer 40,000: Gladius Free-to-keep week Gladius is going to be free-to-keep on Steam for the duration of the festival! As per usual, please let us know what you think of the list of changes. Your feedback is essential to keep improving the game. The team is currently hard at work. We'll have news about new content soon. Changes since 1.2.46 Changes Below is a summary of changes made to Planetary Supremacy. Note that existing save game files from prior versions are unlikely to load with this build. A legacy branch with the current live version of the game (with the Preview version of Planetary Supremacy) will be kept available as a legacy branch/build on Steam, GOG and Slitherine Standalone. Doubled the number of tiles to battle over on the Overworld Map. Some tiles are vacant and can be claimed without a battle. Removed the starting battle. When the campaign states, the opening animation is played. Then, the first moves occur on the overworld map. The 3 main armies now start at 1500 or 2000 points (depending on difficulty settings) Neutral faction armies now have more unit types in them and are larger - either 1250 or 1500. The resource tiles have been renamed, and are no longer themed as Imperial assets. Auxillary Force (formerly Vox caster relay) gives a 300-point bonus to the army cap. Expanded Authority (formerly Manufactorum) potentially gives +1AP The Expanded Authority resource now works by building up charge from performing actions on the Overworld Map. When fully charged, an extra Action Point is awarded for 1 turn. Once the Action Point is used, the resource must recharge again to provide the next Action Point. Rapid Resupply (formerly Munitions Depot) reduces unit cooldowns by 1. Fighting for resource tiles uses a new objective type 'Sieze and Control'. The attacker gains points for each unit in a zone near a resource asset on the map. The defender gains points for killing the attackers' units. In Planetary Supremacy battles, all AI units are now activated when the battle starts. Added a difficulty setting to control requisition cost for the enemy, separately from the player. Revised the AI that controls the two AI opponents. The AI should now be more aggressive in attacking the human player. Ensured that Neutral factions will always have an HQ Commander unit in their army. All of the procedural maps configurations used in Planetary Supremacy have been adjusted to reduce chokepoints and support bigger armies. The “Preview” label has been removed. Other changes: Added ‘Sieze and Control’ as a new objective type in single-player skirmish mode, and multiplayer. Added an option to enable using melee weapons by default when attacking a unit on an adjacent tile. Enable this setting in the Options menu under Controls/UI. In all non-narrative battles, the HQ Commander can now be chosen from available HQ units in the army loadout phase. Click on the HQ Commander icon next to an HQ unit to make it the HQ Commander. Implemented a new battlefield promotion system. If your HQ Commander is killed...We are joining Warhammer Fest 2023Apr 7, 2023 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39808373/0220b0fa153569ccbd532be0523593f5155d357e.jpg From April 29th till May 1st we will be showcasing our Warhammer titles at Warhammer Fest in Manchester. In short, a lot’s been going on, even if we’ve been a bit quiet lately. In December, we released a massive update that included the Sisters of Battle Faction Pack, and the new Daemonic Incursion game mode. Since then, we also released an update with support for Valve’s Steamdeck. With Daemonic Incursion out, we’ve turned our attention back to Planetary Supremacy. Our goal in the coming months is to bring Planetary Supremacy out of preview and into full release. Some of the changes we are making include a much bigger overworld map, better AI, and bigger battles. We are also making adjustments to the higher difficulty settings, to increase the challenge for more experienced players. Capturing resource tiles will use an all-new objective type, called Seize and Control. The attacking team needs to secure a zone and hold it, whilst the defender attempts to prevent them from doing so. We’ll make this new objective type available for single-player skirmishes and multiplayer as well, so you’ll have another way to play skirmishes. In addition, we are also working on a number of quality-of-life improvements that the community has requested. We’ll be adding an option to make melee weapons the default for units attacking an adjacent tile with units with both ranged and melee options. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39808373/a30bbe7b5d01383d5ede0b7d5374f25efa199b03.gif For any game modes outside the narrative campaign, we’ll be adding an option to select which unit is your HQ Commander. Also, if your HQ Commander is killed in action, and you have another HQ unit alive in your army, they’ll receive a battlefield promotion and take over as the new HQ Commander. These are just some of the changes we’ve been working on, which we can’t wait to share with you in the coming months. - The Black Lab Games team. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2011980/Warhammer_40000_Battlesector__Sisters_of_Battle/
