We're doing the Alpha on Itch to fix bugs, gather feedback, and polish the game up before the Steam launch. If you purchase the Alpha on Itch, not only will you get to play the game right now, you will also be able to transfer your Itch version to Steam when we eventually release there. We wanted to showcase just how extensively we are re-imagining the space roguelite format and what exactly the dark techno-gothic setting does for this kind of game. For those of you who prefer reading, here's where we took it: Powerful, customizable commander units, each with their own unique abilities SIGNIFICANTLY more emphasis on crew combat and boarding actions, with over 70 different crew types, each with their own unique characteristics including passive/active abilities, resistances, and equipment slots. Over 140 different types of wargear to outfit your crew, including weapons, armor, consumable, and psychic powers, all of which have the potential to drastically alter the performance of each individual unit. Multiple bosses A streamlined map interface that focuses on strategic decision-making. Say goodbye to the days of having your run tanked by forgetting to double-check pathing decisions on the star map. Points of interest such as merchants and repair points are telegraphed in advance so you can always plan your route with maximum tactical awareness. Weird and grim techno-artifacts such as: ...DEMON LANCE: Drains the life force of all crew aboard your ship (both friend and foe) and uses it to supercharge your starship's lance weapons ...CORPSE EFFIGY: Infuses your poison abilities with spectral torpor, halving the repair speed of affected crew ...HATE MATRIX: Makes all of your crew's non-lethal spells lethal using the power of HATE 12 Torment difficulties (for now) which will gradually ramp up the variety and challenge. We want to see you reach your peak potential as the last sane commander in a galaxy gone mad. And of course the usual weapons, shields, and life support systems you'd expect to find on a starship, but also displacement weapons, graviton field generators, profane altars to the dark gods, and more...
