We’re back once again with a new update, addressing some of the most common bugs reported so far. It looks like our save corruption system had a few holes — which should now be fixed. This time, our major focus has been on fixing as many bugs as possible. We've also addressed some balance issues and quality-of-life requests. We'll keep working on these updates until all bugs are resolved and the game's balance reaches a state we're happy with. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is already working on future content. And speaking of future content — we’ve been getting questions about it non-stop lately, and yes, we will be publishing a roadmap for the Early Access content very soon. Spoiler: Mod support is included in the roadmap. Thank you once again for your support and understanding. We’re a small team with only one programmer, and we can’t fix everything as fast as we’d like to. 🙏 Enemy spawn rates under our radar We've noticed a couple of bugs regarding enemy spawn rates, and by fixing them the enemy spawn rate got too low. We've been tweaking the numbers to make them fair and consistent to players, but It may need further tweaking in the next update. Please share with us how you feel about the enemy spawn rates! One of these bugs was dividing the enemy spawn timer by two every time the player changed a "chunk", which is something that occurs very frequently when moving around. This meant that enemies would spawn much faster than intended, and that items that modify the enemy spawn rates (talisman, swarm potion, etc) wouldn't work properly, or at all. Tinkerlands v0.1.4.0 - You can now switch between Windowed, Fullscreen, and Borderless Fullscreen modes. - You can now switch between game-level and OS-level mouse input. - The player now slides off object edges. - Updated English/Spanish localization for "The Nurse" / "La enfermera". - Buffed the items "Sanctification" and "Soul Reaper." - Reduced the mining power required to break Desert Bones. - Blood Slimes and Blood Biome interactables now provide Blood Essence. - Increased the spawn rate of Peridot in the Jungle. - Spider walls can now be mined with the Omnitool. - Items can no longer be reforged back to quality. - Items that do not consume MP will no longer receive MP-related affixes when reforged. - Torches placed in the second quickbar slot now emit light. - The Hoe can now be used on dirt. - The Frog Prince Altar now includes a guaranteed teleport point. - Cave entrances now include a guaranteed teleport point. - The teleport cutscene is now faster. - Gamepad cursor now functions correctly when zoom level is increased. - Buffs can now be removed by right-clicking them. - Pumpkin, Goblin, and Trichroma Islands are now less rare. - Increased the lighting radius of torches. - Event end notifications no longer duplicate for each player. - Coral Door can now be broken. - "Curse of the Swamp" notifications ...Tinkerlands v0.1.3.0May 27, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44666338/17760fb7cdf1e2efb4bac49502389ba6003bee3b.png Hello everybody! We are back again with a new update, this time we've been focusing on fixing (or at least reducing) the corrupted save data issues some people are experiencing. There's only so much we can do about it, since If the game is forcefully closed (via alt+f4, disconnection or crash) the save data will be mostly unusable. We now make a check that the save data has been succesfully written, and If it failed during the process, the game will try to load a backup. We've also implemented a backup system for player save files, using the same method mentioned above. We sincerely apology for the issues this might have caused, but we are determined to fix all the issues and bugs, starting with the major ones like this one. We've also heard your feedback about game balance, and this time we come with some quality of life changes, new items, a new NPC and some economy balance. We've been working non-stop in the last 48h to solve the major issues from all the reports we've received. The biggest issue we've seen is that chinese players cannot play properly using Steam's connection (TCP/IP still works fine) so we've been working on setting up a dedicated server for the Asian region. Apart from that, we've been working on fixing the major crashes (there are quite a few still to fix) so we hope that the game gets a bit more stable with this update. We've also heard your feedback about balance, and we've made some modifications to the game to hopefully make the game more balanced and enjoyable. We are still processing all your reports, tickets, reviews and forum posts (I'm only one person and there are hundreds of them!) and It'll take some time, but we are going to check every single one of them. Thank you once again for your support and comprehension, we are a small team with only one programmer and we can't fix everything as fast as we would like to. 🙏 Dedicated server in Asia region We've received your feedback about the multiplayer issues. Sadly, this issues are related to the Steam servers and there's nothing we can do. We provide an additional connection method via TCP/IP that doesn't have any of the latency or disconnection issues, but we understand that not everybody is savy enough to open ports or join a virtual lan network. You can access this dedicated server by opting-in to the "china-dedicated-server" beta branch, by right clicking the game in your library, going to properties and then to betas. We want everybody to be able to enjoy Tinkerlands multiplayer, so we've been working these past two days in setting up a dedicated server on Asia. This is still a work in progress, and might be buggy as we had little time to work on it, but let us know any issues you might face with it and we'll be working on making it stable as fast as possible. Tinkerlands v0.1.2.0 Saving now locks the game until It's completed We've seen quite a few reports of corrupted save data, because players would crash, disconnect or forcefully close (via alt+f4) the game during an auto-save. To prevent (or reduce) the occurence of this issue we've made saving lock the game until It's completed. We have also added a button to the ingame menu to save the game whenever you want, without the need of exiting the world. We are going to rework the save system so It's transparent to the player, so stay tuned for future updates. Added button to consume all buffs in inventory We will include this into keybindings and on gamepad in the next updates, but for now you can use the B button to consume all the potions and other misc buff you have on your inventory. First of all, I want to give a huge thanks to all of you for playing our game, and supporting us. It's been overwhelming seeing so many of you having fun and sharing doubts and knowledge about the game. We also received over 500 tickets and we are checking every single one of them, It's gonna take some time but we are going to make sure that they are all processed. We have already collected the most common ones, and we are working towards applying them, starting with this first patch. Tinkerlands v0.1.1.0 Locked mouse to the game's framerate This sounds like a bad change, but we suspect this might be the cause for the silent crashes some people are experiencing. We'll investigate further from here and will find an alternative way to detach the cursor from the game's framerate, but It's better to do something about it while we investigate the issue. If you get a silent crash after updating, please let us know! Fixed an issue that would duplicate the Enemy Director, making it spawn more enemies each time This was an oversight on our end, every time you travel to a different island, the enemy director had a chance to duplicate itself. This meant that enemy spawn rates were increasing every time you travelled. Tuned down aggro from enemies in Jungle and Pumpking islands Some monsters aggro range was excessive, making it look like they are spawning non-stop (which was also related to the bug above this) but It was a matter of enemies following the player forever and from very afar. Increased Stack Sizes We've heard your feedback. Most of the misc and building items stack sizes have been increased to 99 and 999. We also have plans to add bigger containers in the near future. Fullscreen mode is now borderless This was an issue specially for players that have different text input methods, where they would get thrown out of the game while typing. This change should avoid this issue entirely. Balance changes It's still early to make big balance changes, but we've been hearing (and enjoying) your suffering. But in order to make some things less painful, we've added new recipes for better HP/MP potions, aswell as reduced the time it takes for fishes to escape. Also, enemies won't be doing more critical damage to players. It’s time for our monthly development update! November has flown by, and as always, we’re here to share the latest progress on Tinkerlands. This month, our focus was on creating, implementing, and testing exciting new content for both single-player and multiplayer experiences. Here's a look at what we’ve been working on: Enriching islands and biomes We keep working on the new islands and test them extensively. While the initial designs are promising, we realized they could use additional refinement and more content variety. We’re also exploring the idea of dividing these islands into distinct yet thematically connected biomes, creating immersive environments for you to explore. New NPCs and the new quest system Two new characters are joining Tinkerlands: the Carpenter and the Fisherman! And we’ve also added a quest system for NPCs, where they’ll ask you to do various tasks. By helping them, you can earn special rewards or unlock new features. Every suggestion, comment, and bug report brings us closer to making Tinkerlands the best it can be. Now, let’s talk about what’s new and improved in the game! New Additions Added direct connection option. This allows players to connect directly using tcp/ip which should be more stable (and have less latency) that connecting through Steam. Added Slime Voodoo Doll craft recipe. Added different pot with flowers recipes. Added Bonemerang recipe. Added Iron Door recipe. Improvements & Adjustments Spawn point will be now updated when the current spawn point is deleted. Reduced dash immunity of Iron Device and Technomycotics Boots from 1s to 0.6s. Corrupted King HP and defense have been increased. Bloody Pistol charge time reduced from 1s to 0.6s. Bloody Knife attack speed has been slightly reduced. Bloody Knife hits have been reduced from 4 to 3. Jelly Knife attack speed has been slightly reduced. Pressing the menu button while the tutorial hasn't been finished now shows a warning message. Bosses now have immunity to freeze and slow status. The merchant now sells flower pots. Updated flower pot recipe to use normal wood. Flowers can now be placed. Hot Drink recipe has been changed to use grass instead of flowers. The use of Life Flower and Mana Flower is now restricted when at maximum HP and MP. Dynamite, Bomb and Minibombs now have damage values. Monster spawn has been reworked to be more efficient. Increased the effect of the Talisman accesory. Bread buff duration has been increased from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Grappling hooks are now detached on arrival. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug that would prevent cutscenes from progressing in multiplayer. You know what they say—no rest for the wicked! And that’s us right now, thanks to all the amazing feedback you keep sending. We’re not stopping until every Tinkerlander is loving their time in our tiny adventure. But before we jump into the fun stuff (like improvements!), there’s something we need to mention. We’ve come across a particularly tricky bug that’s out of our control because of how Steam works. How to deal with "Error in action number 1" crash If you’ve played the prologue before, you might run into the "Error in action number 1" crash when launching the game. Don’t worry—it just means Steam cloud trying to load some older game files. To fix it, head over to %appdata%/Roaming/Shipwrecked/players and delete the player files. You should also turn off Steam Cloud syncing by right-clicking the game, going to Properties, and unchecking the Cloud option. Alright, now let’s get to the exciting part—what’s been improved in the new demo! Most of the potions sell price was reduced. Added a limit to the Blood Armor lifesteal bonus. Minimap is now closed when the player dies. Island/Worlds save location was moved to a new folder. The game will still load games from the previous folder if no new worlds are found. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug that would duplicate sprites in some worlds. Fixed a bug that would prevent players from interacting with objects in some worlds. Fixed a crash that would occur when opening the map and the crafting menu at the same time. Fixed a bug that would make all items dropped from breaking a container lose their affixes. The game will now warn and try to fix islands that were corrupted due to Steam cloud save. Big Wooden Chest can now be open from all sides. The player will no longer move when dashing while the game is paused. The player will no longer move when on a minecart while the game is paused.
