The Walking Dead Onslaught

The Walking Dead Onslaught Combat Rebalance Patch is Now LiveOct 19, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsAfter launching The Walking Dead Onslaught in September, we have been listening and processing the valuable feedback we’ve received from our player community. Today, we’ve just pushed a major Combat Rebalance Patch, which is now live. Before we dive into the details of the Combat Rebalance Patch, we do want to give a big shout out to the many players who gave their time and energy to provide constructive feedback and submit bugs to our studio. We’ve spent a lot of time evaluating what we could do to help players achieve our goal of walker-slaying fun, and have made significant changes to our Combat System and Walker Behavior as a result. We’ve got the full details to share with you below: The Walking Dead Onslaught Combat Rebalance Patch 1) Significant Ranged Weapon Combat Overhaul All ranged weapons have been tuned to allow for one-hit kills to the brain at close range; less damage is dealt to the jaw and significantly less damage is dealt to the neck and below. Ranged weapons now have custom fall-off damage over distance, which can be improved via weapon upgrades ("Refined Powder"). This excludes the Lever Action Rifle, Revolver, and Crossbow. Simulated weight on heavier / longer ranged weapons has been adjusted for better usability; this weight can be neutralized by stabilizing (two-handing) a weapon. Ammo Pickups now grant less ammunition per weapon, increasing ammo scarcity. All ranged weapons have had their maximum ammunition and upgraded ammunition capacities re-balanced to the new weapon damage values. Ranged weapons brought into a Scavenger run as part of the player loadout now start with a single magazine's worth of ammunition rather than the maximum for the weapon. The ammo bonuses granted by The Forge have been increased from +40% at max level to +125% (+25% per upgrade). Increased blunt melee damage on all ranged weapons (pistol whipping). The "Copper Tips" upgrades for the Heavy Pistol, Lever Action Rifle, and Crossbow are now more effective; penetration values have been increased. The Basic Pistol is now less accurate at range to compensate for its new one-hit kill capability. 2) Significant Melee Weapon Combat Overhaul All melee weapons have had their damage values tweaked; less damage is dealt to the jaw and significantly less damage is dealt to the neck and below. Sharp melee weapons (blades and axes) now stick inside of a Walker's skull on kill and will resist easy removal; higher quality sharp melee weapons such as the Katana and Battle Axe have the least resistance of removal. Dead Walkers no longer automatically detach from sharp melee weapons when impaled. While impaling a Walker with a sharp melee weapon, player movement is restricted for as long as the weapon remains stuck in the Walker. Additional simulated weight has been added to heavier / longer melee weapons; this weight can be neutralized by stabilizing (two-handing) a weapon. Reduced blunt melee damage for sharp melee weapons when striking with the hilt or other no...New Hotfix Now LiveOct 8, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, We just pushed a stability patch fixing multiple crashes along with several bug fixes, including one which, in some cases could prevent player progression. SurviosHotfix 1.0.1 Now LiveOct 2, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, After our release of The Walking Dead Onslaught this past Tuesday, we were met with a lot of feedback from you: the fans of TWD, the fans of VR, and our Survios player community. From the beginning, our goal with TWD Onslaught was to deliver an action-packed gameplay experience set in the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead, where players would feel empowered to slay walkers and have fun doing that. However, it has been made very apparent that this game has not fully delivered that promise and we are taking this very seriously. We want you to know we hear you loud and clear, and have been taking this week to humbly evaluate and process all of the critical feedback and suggestions you have delivered here on Steam, on our Discord, and across the internet. We’re working on delivering a Gameplay Patch that will address some of the core combat, progression feedback and bug reports we have been receiving in the hopes of achieving our goal of delivering a fun, walker-slaying experience. We’ll have more details to share in the following weeks as we continue evaluating and assessing the changes and fixes that will be included in this patch. In addition to the upcoming gameplay patch, we have also pushed Hotfix 1.0.1 today that addresses a handful technical bugs and minor fixes. Details below. Patch Notes for Hotfix 1.0.1 (Released October 2, 2020): Fixed collision on chain-link fences to prevent teleporting through locked areas. Removed "red hand" FX for when tracking is having difficulty finding the controllers, increasing immersion. Fixed infinite looping audio bug caused when rack up screen was clicked through too quickly. Fixed an issue which caused the player to be stuck if they exited the game during the rackup sequence, reentered, and selected to replay the mission. Fixed several crashing bugs discovered by the players. We are also working directly with Virtual Desktop to ensure The Walking Dead Onslaught is compatible with this app and Quest players will be able to access and play the game. Lastly, if you have bugs or feedback please check out our FAQ first, and if you still do not find a solution please reach out to [email protected] and we’ll help you directly. The Walking Dead Onslaught Is Now AvailableSep 29, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsThe Walking Dead Onslaught Is Now Available on Steam. Best, The Survios TeamThe Walking Dead Onslaught Developer UpdateJul 21, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsTo our fans, our future survivors, and the VR community. As we continue to work on The Walking Dead Onslaught from the comfort of our home offices, bedrooms and basements, we wanted to take a moment to share an update with you. In recent interviews with Venture Beat , ScreenRant and UploadVR , we provided new details on the changes and improvements being made to The Walking Dead Onslaught since announcing the game’s delay last November. Of those details, we discussed the team’s decision to remove the cooperative mode in favor of going all-in to build the best possible single-player experience. Our mission for The Walking Dead Onslaught has always been to deliver an authentic, immersive experience for fans. This includes those who have followed AMC’s groundbreaking show from the beginning, those of you who have played and loved Survios games since Raw Data, and those who just want to have a good time killing walkers in unspeakably gruesome ways. We’ve focused our attention on making key changes that make the game better from our perspective and bring us closer to realizing our goal. Some of these big changes include: Enhancing how players experience elements of AMC’s The Walking Dead by including more authentic and immersive elements from the world of the show. Refining our combat systems to deliver even more brutal, satisfying walker encounters. Expanding Alexandria to play a much larger role in the game where players can construct buildings, upgrade and customize their arsenal, interact with characters from the show, and more. We pride ourselves on being actively engaged with our community. We know many of you were excited for co-op. Similarly, based on the reaction to the interviews mentioned above, we know the removal of co-op is disappointing to some of you as well. Let us be clear: this was not a decision made lightly. In the end, we all agreed that simply adding the mode without the proper resources to bring it to our level of polish and quality was not something we could bring ourselves to do. It was clear to us after several rounds of internal playtesting that co-op wasn’t reaching our own standards of fun, which we have since built up with significant improvements to the campaign, combat, and a meaningful progression system that connects you to the universe of AMC’s The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead Onslaught will mark our 7th title being built from the ground up exclusively for virtual reality, and we couldn’t be here today without your faith and support in our studio and our games. We are incredibly lucky to have the privilege of building these immersive experiences for you, and a key part of that involves experimenting and learning how we can best play in the virtual space. We hope you can trust in us to deliver something special that will meet the value and quality that we deliver with all of our games.
