Added indicators for items that are obscured by the environment. Fixed a bug where the camera would sometimes drift when starting a boss level. Update#39: The Takeover is now released!Nov 9, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsAfter more than four years of hard work and almost as much time spent in Early Access the time has finally come for The Takeover to be properly released on Steam. I want to thank you all for your support, feedback and constructive criticism, you helped shape this game and pushed me to deliver something more than I had originally envisioned. No matter how the game ends up doing I'm proud of it and I will continue to support it post release making sure it's as polished and balanced as possible. If the interest is there in the following months I would love to do content updates with new modes, characters and stages. Thank you all so much! AntonisUpdate#38Oct 28, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThis update contains: -A new playable section for stage 1. -A new game mode called Challenge. This mode can be unlocked by completing Arcade mode in any difficulty. -Numerous optimizations, updates and bug fixes. Thank you! Update#37Jun 23, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsHi everyone, In these past couple months we've been working on getting the game ready for release, both for PC and consoles. The game had to be upgraded to the latest version of Unity which in turn means no DX9 support. For the people that need to play the game under DX9 a new folder has been created in the game folder, most commonly found in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\TheTakeOver\dx9 containing the game as it has existed up to this update. Unfortunately any future content updates and DLC will only work for the new version of the game. Thank you!Update#36Jan 30, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThis update makes Jackson and Relay mode unlockable content. Finishing the game with any character will unlock Jackson and finishing the game with Jackson will unlock Relay mode. End of level boss fights for stages 2,3,4,6,7 have been reworked with new attack patterns and animations. The game over screen has been updated and can now be skipped. There are also numerous small visual, audio and optimization updates including new sound effects and revised color grading. Thank you!Update#35Jan 7, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsFollowing the rest of the main characters Connor has been updated to better reflect his stats. All of his animations and combos have been created again from scratch. The way the super move bar fills up has been changed. It's now tied to a new combo counter, the longer the combo the faster it will fill up. This update also contains many subtle gameplay/timing changes aimed at balancing the game. Killed enemies will no longer drop grenades in easy mode and the drop rate has been decreased in higher difficulties. The ability to save button mappings is back again, please let me know if you encounter any issues. Thank you! Update#34: New Playable CharacterDec 18, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThis update contains: -A new playable character. -An option for disabling enemy health bars and names. -Ethan's combos and animations have been polished and updated. -Megan has been updated, her sprites and animations where created again from scratch. -Bug fixes and optimizations. Jackson and Fight Relay mode are meant as bonus unlockables and they will be so when the game is properly released. They will remain unlocked for testing purposes while the game remains in Early Access. The ability to save button mappings has again been temporarily disabled as it made the game unplayable for some people. Thank you!Update#33Nov 11, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThis update reinstates the ability to save your controller mappings, further tweaks the combo system and adds new animations to the playable characters. Some people experienced problems with their controllers when running the game via Steam last month. Part of the efforts to fix the issue was to remove the ability to save the button mappings, however it appears this was not part of the problem so its now back in the game. If anyone experiences issues again please let me know. The combo system is also slightly tweaked, you are now given three options on how to finish a combo with a punch: -Holding up while finishing a combo will launch the enemy vertically, allowing for juggling opponents in mid air. -Holding down will smash enemies in to the ground for quick extra damage. Megan does not have this option. -Not pressing up or down will result in a normal finisher. Thank you! Update#32Nov 4, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThis update contains some significant gameplay changes including a new game mode which allows you to switch between the three playbale characters during gameplay, adjustments to the combo system and the ability to juggle enemies in mid air. The jump button will now also cancel any attacks. Between this and the previous update the gameplay has been smoothed out considerably, especially when the player is getting crowded. There are still a few bugs to iron out before release however this could be the last update before the game leaves Early Access. Some people experienced issues with their gamepads this month, unfortunately I was not able to recreate theses problems on my end using an XB360 or an XB1 controller however there have been updates to the input method. Please let me know if you experience any problems. Thank you! Update#31Oct 19, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThis update contains: -Tweaked combos for Ethan and Megan. -New animations. -Super move is now independent of regular special moves. -Special moves will cancel all other animations. -Grabbing an enemy from behind will now allow you to throw him forward. -Car and Jet stages now work as bonus stages, failing them will not lead to a game over. -No continues for Hard mode. -Several bug fixes, gameplay balance changes and optimizations. Thank you!Update#30Sep 21, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThis update contains several bug fixes, improvements and replaces the existing save system, unfortunately any saves up to now will be reset.
