New Game Announcement: WanderstopJun 8, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHi all, this is Davey, the writer and originator of The Stanley Parable. I'm making this post to let you know that I've just announced a new game that I've been working on for a number of years, called Wanderstop. Wanderstop is a narrative-centric cozy game about managing a tea shop and going through difficult changes. It's certainly a departure for me, a style of game I've never really worked on before, but I'm pretty dang happy with what we've managed to create. Our announcement trailer does a pretty decent job of capturing the narrative tone and the gameplay that you can expect: The game will be out later this year. If you'd like to wishlist it on Steam, here's a link. Thanks everyone!!People are horny for Stanley Parable's narrator now, I guessApr 11, 2023 - PC GamerStep aside Ghost, there's a new videogame character sending the internet into a horny frenzy. I'm not quite sure why or how this has happened, but The Stanley Parable's narrator has been receiving some rather favourable attention across TikTok and Steam reviews lately. By favourable, I mean people being down atrocious for this transcendental being... Thanks for all your support and good luck finding all of the New Content! The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is coming in AprilMar 30, 2022 - PCGamesNIt's been quite the wait, but The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe now has an official release date, and it's coming out soon. The expanded edition of the groundbreaking 2013 indie game will launch April 27 on Steam, and it'll be adding a wealth of new content to Stanley's introspective adventure. The Stanley Parable is a game that in ages past was somewhat derisively called a 'walking simulator,' but it's a rather biting and stark look at the fundamental ideas of game design and the relationships players form with game worlds and mechanics. Playing the game involves interrogating your own inclination to either follow the directions the game provides or attempt to break the rules, and The Stanley Parable's dryly funny narrator remarks on each decision you make. As we've reported, the 'Ultra Deluxe' edition of the Stanley Parable will include new content, meaning new adventures for Stanley and the long-suffering narrator, and new endings to discover. Originally scheduled for 2019, it was delayed to 2020 - but as we all know, that was a bit of a weird year for release dates. Read the rest of the story... The first-person adventure, a seemingly simple story of an employee dutifully following an offscreen narrator's instructions, quickly branched off into absurd, baffling, hilarious, and sometimes disturbing pathways as it explored the nature of choice and free will in video games... As that year drew to a close, the release was pushed back to 2020, "probably before summer, but it sort of depends on the specifics of how development goes". That didn't work out either. Oh, is it your first time at CDC? Don't worry, it's just like every other conference. You walk around trying to make small talk with people you probably don't know and everything that comes out of your mouth sounds like a bad Mad Libs sheet. It was originally expected in 2019, then this year, and now we won’t be seeing it until at least 2021. The co-developers at Crows Crows Crows revealed the bad news on Twitter by, uh, borrowing some corporate ‘our game has been delayed’ images and slapping their own info over the top. This week, the house of Sweeney are giving away The Stanley Parable and Watch Dogs. One is a sprawling, meta-textual comedy narrative about control and the nature of stories themselves. The other has a bloke with a neat cap. You’ve got until next Thursday to grab ’em for free, at which time they’ll be replaced by Figment and Tormentor X Punisher. (more…) The Stanley Parable Responds to Your Letters and EmailsNov 28, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsLots of people have been reaching out about an update on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, so we asked The Narrator to respond to a few of the letters and emails we've received. If the above video is broken in Steam you can watch it on YouTube here. The Stanley Parable's narrator answers your (definitely real) release date concernsNov 27, 2019 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun Is that a tingling in my ears? Has Kevan Brighting’s soothing voice returned to comfort my lobes? The Stanley Parable‘s narrator is back in a new trailer, and he’s got some concerning news regarding the development of the upcoming Ultra Deluxe edition. Reluctantly, regrettably, and due to popular demand, it appears the labyrinthine adventure’s second remake won’t be launching as planned this year. (more…) The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe's release date announcement is a journeyNov 27, 2019 - PC GamerThe Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, which promises to torment Stanley with new choices and endings, was originally due out this year, but with 2019's end fast approaching, the game is running out of time. In the most Stanley Parable way possible, developer Crows Crows Crows has announced that we're going to have to wait a bit longer. News of a delay is usually greeted with understanding because nobody wants a rushed game, but I've not seen a developer put quite such a creative or positive spin on it, but then The Stanley Parable is pretty weird. It's milking it more than a little bit, but I could listen to the narrator respond to letters all day. Despite the narrator's protestations, however, it sounds like things haven't been going as smoothly as the developer might have hoped, so the release date is being pushed back until next year, hopefully before summer. In terms of script length, it's half of a new game, so the Ultra Deluxe won't be skimping on the new stuff, and Crows Crows Crows is working on console ports, too. It's not clear if the PC version will be a standalone, expansion or an update to the base game, but the developer wants to make both versions separately accessible. One of the devs behind The Stanley Parable made a free MMOAug 8, 2019 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunIndie developer Crows Crows Crows, whose founder William Pugh is one of the developers behind The Stanley Parable, has released a free browser-based MMO. It is described as “a mix between Journey, RuneScape and that time U2 s new album got auto-installed on everybody s iPhones.” The Club – a blocky 90s-Internet styled multi-player discothon whose name is surrounded by the animated GIF flames of a Geocities fan page, and whose club tracks sound like a DJ set by David Lynch – is a mission-less, non-competitive, online music listening game. It is hell. It is perfect. (more…)
