Development continuesFeb 4, 2022 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34380915/b7c5e3f9ba44a6f10a9a6c1110039afbec8adeb5.png Hello Everyone! It has been quite some time since the last update to the game. But I am happy to announce: Development continues. The development of this game was halted due to PC issues on my part, and then losing the game files because what are backups or even version control. So I made the game again from scratch with the new knowledge I had, a more modern unity version, and some assets I could scrap together from Discord. (It's so great when a VoIP service is your very own version control) Now when I started making it I directly decided: Let's implement multiplayer and work with that! What could go wrong? Everything I tell you. With the new version when you start the game you will be prompted to either host a local game, join a game of your friends (currently you should forward port 7777 if you are the host) or, if available, join a public server of mine. If you host the game it should feel the same as if you play single-player to you, if you join a friend or a server you currently experience the whole load of ping. Fixing this has no priority as of now, but will be of priority for the games final release. Once this is done, achievements will only be handed out by dedicated servers (as long as they are online). Every player will have their own save-file (currently only 1 per user, multiple are also planned for full release), which can be advanced on any mode. A few new quests have been added in the meantime. The base game will be changed from free to 1.99$. This is not due to my insatiable greed, but to enable community features like counting the game as a perfect one when all achievements are achieved. Therefor I also added a Demo version, you can not earn achievements in it or climb the steam leaderboards (at least I think, if you actually can be happy). That Demo version incorporates the entire game except steam features that are only unlocked via purchase. If you want a free key to the paid version, or have any issues with the Demo, please join the Discord and feel free to ask!Mini update: Leaderboards and QoLApr 17, 2020 - Community Announcements+ The harbor can be closed with esc. (Escape) + Added Leaderboards - Removed feature that made other ships able to push the player out of the harbor. - Removed feature that made enemies spawn on islands again. You will get an entry on the leaderboard once you kill your first enemy. It will however take the in-game counter for your leaderboard entry.Mini update: New voiceactors and bugfixesApr 12, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsIn this patch not much changed. We changed the voiceacting to something... a little more professional, and we fixed a few bugs making it possible to get money faster than intended. The game will not automatically reset. If you want to experience the new voices reset it in the menu (Esc button).Groid store publicationJan 12, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsSo you are waiting for another the seven deadly seas update, but are afraid we're going to pull the cube world on you? Well fear not because at least we didn't take any money from you... yet ;P Groid is a new title from us that will be worked on until it is finished and then released. No early access bs this time. This game has been started work in a game jam, but now will be evolved into a full release. The pricing of the game will be 0.99USD or an according translation into your currency. Once this is released work on tsds is going to continue. The crash on the asteroid really hurt you. An exoskeleton is all that keeps you standing, however it is just a help, so with broken legs giving inputs is not a good idea. But you managed to save a grappling hook and a laser pistol from your shipwreck. One for each hand. The crash was so hard, you now are in a deep cave-system in the comet you crashed on. It all is quiet, until you hear some weird noises and see some green being running towards you... If you are interested you can find it on the following store page and add it to your wishlist so you will get notified once it is finished and release: Store pageUpdate 0.7 "Wood for everyone"Nov 14, 2019 - Community Announcements+ New item: Wood. It can be bought for 6 gold and sold for 2. + Repairs now require wood. 2HP = 1 Wood. Therefor repairing yourself is 1 gold (25%) cheaper/HP than the instaheal. + The information panel in the harbor shows how many fish/gold you own. + The harbor now has a button for resources (fish and wood) Weapons (Cannons) and Miscallaneous (Everything else). The brown bar at the right is for scrolling, but because there is enough space for everything its useless. + The inventory is now better labeled so you actually know if your items are equipped or not. + A controls menu has been implemented. The controls cannot be altered yet but its a good way to look up how they work. ~ Fixed an issue with what you got 4 billion fish if you sold them while finishing the 1st quest. ~ Doubled repair speed. ~ Fixed an issue that showed "Toast" or the last message that was displayed after respawning. - Had to reset all savefiles for all players. This is due to the infinite Fish bug. Im working on a compensation for this kind of stuff for future updates if it happens again. Informations: Restarting currently also resets your settings. Fix will be in fututre updates. (Hopefully) We saw all your reports about bad communication and an even worse tutorial. This will also be addressed in (hopefullyy) the next week. If you close the game via windows (The red X on the top right, alt + F4, or task manager) it can be that some stuff gets saved, like quests or stuff you get via quests, but other things like your resources/gold will be lost. So always try to quit via the ingame method. This will save everythingPatch 0.6 "More and better"Oct 24, 2019 - Community Announcements+ Not accepted quest are found in the tavern now. The story will automatically progress, everytime there is something new, after it has been activated. + New story-quest for the beginning. You first get a fishing rod and then a cannon for free. + Quests pick off from where you left if you close the game. + Stored items are now saved as such. No need to store them again on restart. - Removed the rod you get at the beginning because you get it via Quests now.Patch 0.5 "Get working"Oct 19, 2019 - Community Announcements+ Quests (A single quest currently, but will become more.) The first quest can immediately be found when opening the inventory (Stats & Storage menu). A voiceline for it will start the moment you move your ship the first time. + The ship now has a limited amount of fish to discourage AFKing. The Sloop can carry 30 fish and the Giekewer 80. However if you pick up loot from enemies you can carry more. + UI for the Tavern. A place where you will be able to start future quests. + UI for the Inventory (Stats and storage UI) that displays a list of all currently active quests. + Option to change volume of music/voices respectively. ~ Changed the Stats & Storage button to a visual button. ~ BugfixesVersion 0.4.1 "More, stronger enemies"Oct 13, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsAs promised (the first promise I met ;P, I should become politician instead of game developer) I added the Giekewer as an enemy for the game that weekend. The always spawn with 350HP and between 4-6 cannons. The loot drops accordingly to the difficulty of your current enemy.Update 0.4 "The storage update"Oct 10, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsLast weeks patch wasn't really much and I promised you quests and a new UI to store your stuff and look everything up. I only got the UI for storage working sadly. On the weekend there will be a patch that introduces new enemies because you are pretty OP at this point. Until the next real patch I hope to get done some stuff that was promised before. Bu for now you get this new UI. All graphics in that UI are placeholders and the whole thing is subject to change.Hotfix to gamebreaking bug intrduced in 0.3.1Oct 4, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThe update yesterday introduced a bug that, instead of killing your current enemy, just produced an infinite amount of new enemies until the game crashed. This bug has been fixed. The version has been updated to 0.3.2.Changelog 0.3.1Oct 2, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsI couldn't get the planned features in this week. The next week is very stressfull too but I will do my best to implement new features to make the game more fun and last longer! But therefor this weeks patch only contains minor improvements on the bugged side of life: + Added a loading bar. ~ This time really fixed the issue that you sometimes spawned on the island. ~ Therefor also fixed the same bug with enemies. ~ Fixed bugs that a ship could have too many items when loading older saves. - Removed unity logo from splash screen Keep in mind if your old spawn location is saved on the island just press "Suicide" and you will spawn on the sea. There is no penalty for doing so yet(!) If I make it next weeks update will contain quests for the beginning part of the game (with a full on story coming with it) and a new interface where you can see your stats and change to older ships!Changelog version 0.3Sep 26, 2019 - Community Announcements+ New Ship, the "Giekewer". + Sails. One Sail improves your speed by 15% basespeed. + New map. + New water textures. + This changelog, duh. + "Anti softlock" (suicide) button. ~ "Fixed" spawning on islands. ~ Fixed issues with the savefile. ~ Doubled the drops from enemies to make combat more appealing. ~ Reduced amount of fishing rods on the sloop to 4. ~ Changed the discord Icon to something bigger. - Removed the old map. - Removed the old water textures. We hear youSep 22, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsI feel like it is very unresponsive. You guys write a review, or even report it via the ingame form and get no feedback at all. That's why I'm here to tell you: We see all your suggestions, issues, etc. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34380915/18ee4f52f9bb715fba6204ae7a2fe6d3c8e00db1.png This image shows just a few of the reports we received over the last couple days. We work hard to get all of the issues you have resolved. For example the next weeks update will contain at least one new ship, sails to go faster, new water (maybe no animations, I'm sorry my friend who makes that is one lazy dude) and bugfixes (duh). What we are still working on for the next weeks patch but may not finish is an interface where you can see you currents ship stats (current cannons, maximum cannons, etc.), a leaderboard for bragging purposes and achievements. Because we are a small group of currently 4 people (Me - making the game run, a graphical artist, a music artist, and a story writer) we can't respond with immediate updates in steam or a large budget production ːbibou_sadː If you want a more responsive feedback than the devlog that will come with every future update join our discord: Click me :D We will respond to as many requests as possible there. It's also a nice place to talk with others about the game ːresmileː
