There are also a few example mods available. The Final Earth 2 will be released July 15!Jun 30, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey everyone, I'm happy to be able to finally announce a release date for The Final Earth 2. It'll be out July 15! The game will cost $9.99/€7,99/£6.99. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36129187/13c7780cbbc35de0b1bdfe2719d78ea392a71485.png One of the exciting new features I've recently made is the rocket! This end game building allows your citizens to explore the universe to unlock new upgrades, bonuses, materials and even new worlds you can build on! Then, send resources and citizens between your worlds and build a proper intergalactic empire. I'm looking forward to the release and hope you'll enjoy it!Working towards release!Mar 14, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsThe Final Earth 2 will be released here on Steam this spring and I'm working hard on finishing it! Here are just some of the features that are already done and will definitively be in the full release: More transportation options! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36129187/7cc5f0d2392dc2249801038fc67d9f1c85b978e8.png You'll have much more flexibility in moving people around quickly or designing nice transportation systems. Teleporters now cost some knowledge to operate so they're not the only feasible option, which makes these new options and the current transportation options useful throughout the game. Trains give your citizens a fast way to move horizontally. They work similarly to hyper elevators, so you can simply build some stations and the trains will move between them, even through other buildings. There are also customization options for both the stations and trains, so you can make them look exactly how you want. Bridges can connect buildings horizontally, and can be up to seven spaces wide. For example, they are really useful if you have two high towers next to each other. They don't block space ships and there are various options and colors! There will also be space ship tunnels so your space ships won't have to move all the way around buildings. Alternatively, you can create indoor space ship systems or even space ship mazes! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36129187/2984ce1a983d047ce62716b68bc7fa04d5a85f44.png Also, to help you optimize transport, there's the commute explorer - this shows you exactly where in your city people are spending a lot of time on going to and from work, and thus can help you optimize it by adding transportation or building work closer to houses. You can also click on a work or home to see the routes people are taking from there. New decoration & customization! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36129187/5cd17f0691a2ce3fb2fca0db68792ce443e6b8c8.png As you might have already seen in some screenshots above, there are new decoration options like roofs in a variety of colors. Many buildings also provide customization options to change details, color and more! New resource: graphene! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36129187/df863d1a5686d844808ce1288253b65a4e509ae7.png Graphene is an extremely strong yet thin material and you'll be able to produce it in the game! You can use it for all sort of things, including creating floating platforms. Floating platforms let you make your own mini islands, so you can build much bigger and more complex cities, or bridge large gaps between buildings. Of course, there are many more uses for graphene you'll find in the game. If you've played the game on mobile, you might already recognize some of these features, but don't worry, there will be more! I'm excited to be so close to release. I will share more soon, and will of course also let you know once I have a release date!Modding Support PreviewDec 23, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsOfficial modding support has been a very popular request for The Final Earth 2. Today, I'm releasing the first step towards this with an update to the demo, adding a preview of modding functionality. This way, you can already start making mods before the full game release. The options are limitless - add new buildings, upgrades, scenarios, materials, stats, or anything else you can think of! See here for a guide on how to make your own mod! Also, make sure to join my Discord, if you haven't yet, to discuss with fellow modders and ask questions. You can also ask questions in the Steam community, of course. For now, this is very much beta functionality - you need some coding knowledge, some functionality requires a deep dive into the game code, and crashes or bugs may occur. In particular, make sure to back up your save files regularly as I cannot guarantee saving functionality always works correctly with mods at the moment, and it is rather easy to make mistakes with implementing saving functions in your mods as well. In addition to the modding support preview, this demo update also includes two new buildings and some quality of life improvements, such as: The tutorial is slightly quicker You can now replace all normal houses in one click An auto-upgrade option for labs The option to give your cities a name (as part of a new building) The demo will be available until at least the full version release, which I've currently planned for early 2021. Steam Workshop support will be available in the full version, too, so you can share and download mods more easily. I hope you'll have fun with this new modding functionality. Your feedback is welcome! There have already been some really interesting mods without official support, and I hope this support makes it even easier. Finally, I want to wish everybody very happy holidays!
