The Fall of Lazarus is free to play. Forever.Jan 1, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHi everybody! Johnny here, one of the co-founders of No Wand Studios, the creators of Te Fall of Lazarus. We wanted to make a short update to let you know that effective today our game The Fall of Lazarus will be free to play. Forever. As a lot of you may know, our studio no longer exists. The sales didn't go well and we couldn't keep up running and working, so we had to close a long time ago. The game is making almost zero monthly sales and it's absurd to keep charging for a game if there is nobody getting to see it and no one getting that money. So we've decided to put our game free to play forever. That's it, that's all we wanted to say. Play it if you want, and we really hope you like it. But if you don't, please keep in mind we are no longer working on it. It's a small little game made by a small little team and it was our first project. It's flawed and clunky but it's our game and we love it so much. If you encounter any technical issues playing it, we are really sorry for that, but as I've said before, there is no team working on it. Thank you in advance for your understanding. We only wanted to make a little piece of art and release it to the world, and we did it. We are really proud of what we achieved, even if we know what we made wrong and what we made right in the process. To all our backers and players: THANK YOU. No Wand Studios.Postmortem & GoodbyeNov 2, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsHi passengers! Phew. It's been a while since our last update. Sorry about that, but we were having some difficult times and we were also kinda scared of getting back here. A year and a month ago we released our first game ever, The Fall of Lazarus, but it didn't work the way we were hoping. We kept trying to make it work, patching what we could and trying to get it to be visible for the audience but we couldn't. We ran out of money and health and all of it just crumbled. We saw it coming tho, and we tried to survive it the best way possible, and that's what we did. We're fine now, but we can't keep working on it anymore, so there won't be more patches and fixes for it. We know the game still has some bugs and compatibility issues due to the lack of testing before releasing it but we couldn't afford a proper testing and QA company to do that job, so we're really sorry about that. What we did is to write our story down. From the start to the end. With letters and numbers. Hits and mistakes. We wanted to tell our story because we think it can be useful for somebody and also because it was part of our healing process. We needed to put our shit together and sort it out for good. It's been a couple of months since we released our game The Fall of Lazarus. We started this project nearly two years ago and we wanted to update our game to the last version of Unreal Engine (currently 4.18) because we were having some issues working on a deprecated version of the engine and we took advantage of this situation and implemented some fixes based on all your feedback. So today we're excited to announce our biggest update to date: Version 2.0 — /Rebuild_ available right now! Improvements, changes and bug fixes Updated to Unreal Engine 4.18 (last version available) Full lighting rework Improved level streaming Improved loading times Highly reduced space disk required New resolutions supported: 2560x1440/3200x1800 New Chapter selection mode Added confirmation requirement before starting a new game Added new assets and art pieces Minor changes in some in-game videos Polished some textures Minor fixes Updated Studio branding The most relevant addition are the Chapter mode. Now you can play the game from several checkpoints along the story in case there is a problem with your savegame or something happens! We will keep working on bug fixing so if you run across some issue please report it to us and we'll check it out! Thank you for playing and providing feedback. It has been a rough month and we've been busy but we have some good news we wanted to tell you so here we go. http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/28591167/3033f85e77cfe29a07f88785e6d377f5262fc77c.png First of all, we've been working our assess off on getting The Fall of Lazarus: The First Passenger (our prologue demo) on Steam and today just went live! We thought it would be a great idea to implement all the work and enhacements we've been developing for the full game in the demo because we wanted to upload it to Steam. We were also at an indie event here in Zaragoza and we thought it was the perfect timing for polishing it. THE FIRST PASSENGER 2.0 And here it is! The First Passenger 2.0, almost brand new. Here you have a list with all the changes we've made so far: Full texture rework. New sound and music by Sonotrigger: this is a big deal. We've implemented all the work our friends from Sonotrigger have been doing for the final release and you can hear a glimpse of the final sound design and music! New Hybris voice effect by Sonotrigger. Terminal interfaces rework. New lightning system. Gameplay improvements: Action for open/close doors now use an improved physics system. Now you can interact with items. The important items are stored in the Mnem/0z1n3 tool. Added sprint. New assets: now we've started filling the spaceship with objects. There are a little few in the demo but check out the exteriors of the USSC Lazarus! All this improvements are more representative of the final game and we wanted our demo to look as great as possible for the Steam release. Thank you all, cheers!
