The Deep Deep

Demo Update, new Game Mode details, and Launch DateMar 2, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThe Deep Deep Launch Date The Deep Deep has set a launch date of September 2021! Originally slated for release in March 2021, this decision has been made in order to deliver a game closer to the vision of our best ambitions. Rather than releasing a one campaign game of 2-5 hours of content, we are now busy implementing the new “Delve” mode which will infinitely test the skills learned in the regular campaign. We are excited about the feedback we've been getting from the Steam community and we want to acknowledge the Steam Game Festival for allowing us to reach a new audience of play testers. It is a result of this feedback that has inspired us to deliver a larger version of the game than initially promised. What is the “Delve” mode and why should I wait for it? The existing game consists of an intricate and varied campaign to take back Dwarfholm from the conquering Goblin forces. The Delve mode will instead be focused on delving into the deep unknown territories below Dwarfholm! Each Delve will be a unique procedurally generated rogue-like experience, of randomly generated caves and tunnels populated by Goblins, Orcs, Gnomes, and more! Frankly, the team is excited to deliver many more of artist Vince Price's numerous enemy and equipment assets. As an independent team, it was impossible to create enough hand drawn levels to showcase all the assets we had made. Instead, our procedurally generated, exceedingly deep, map system will enable the “Delve” mode to bring you more items, more baddies, more music, and theoretically infinite cave-diving! If you would like to help playtest the Delve mode, reach out to us on Discord! The Deep Deep v0.2 Update The Deep Deep v0.2 has just landed on steam for demo and beta players. It addresses bugs and feedback we received during the initial demo release and Steam Games Festival. Fixes include: Features Checkpoints are now SAVED and can be resumed after quitting the game New music tracks, and UI sounds Improved combat and explosion sounds Bug Fixes Dwarves transition into climbing more smoothly Fixed cutscenes sometimes hanging Too many other small bug/crash fixes to mention Other Monster balancing across all levels Please reach out on Discord or email [email protected] with any feedback or questions. Game Festival LivestreamJan 30, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThe Deep Deep development team will host a livestream next Saturday as part of the Steam game festival! Join us on Saturday Feb 6th at 4pm EST.The Deep Deep PlaytestJan 16, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome! We're ready to start closed playtesting of The Deep Deep! Anyone can sign up for beta access by clicking the 'Request Access' button on the store page. We're looking for people who are enthusiastic about trying a new game and interacting with the developers to give feedback and test new features. Please join our Discord to give feedback and report bugs. What we're looking for: Constructive feedback on gameplay. Let us know what you liked, didn't like and why. Bug reports. It's a beta: expect things to break. Please try to describe how we can replicate the bug! Testing of all sorts of hardware configurations. If you report bugs, please include some description of your setup! We will start the beta small and continue to expand it over the next month. This helps us get fresh eyes on new features as we add them. Notes for testers: Anonymous crash and metrics collection are enabled by default for playtest builds. Feel free to disable them in the settings if you are uncomfortable with this. Thanks for helping us push forward to release The Deep Deep!
