Temtem

Patch 1.6.2Mar 25, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsImprovements We’ve added the character name and TamerID to the section in Settings where you could check your Support ID. 👥We’ve correctly updated Bunbun and Hidody’s Umbra Radar prices and they now match that of similar Tems. Balance PvE We’ve increased the the bonus that the Isolated Status Conditions offers while capturing Temtem, from 1.0x ⇒ 1.3x. We’re aware that removing Cage from some Tems may affect some capture methods in the PvE environment. We hope that we can provide useful and valid alternatives for PvE players by making Isolated have the same catch rate bonus. We have removed Venx from Musa’s Rematch roster. PvP Temtem #012 – Tateru Resilient has been removed from its traits. Burglar has been added to its traits. #021 – Bunbun Resilient has been removed from its traits. Camaraderie has been added to its traits. #022 – Mudrid STA has been increased 44 ⇒ 52 The nerf to Deluge affects Mudrid, as it is one of the key moves in its kit. We know that a simple STA buff may not be enough, so we have already prepared more changes for this Temtem in patch 1.7. #031 – Rhoulder STA has been increased 51 ⇒ 58 #052 – Owlhe Furor has been removed from its traits. Sentinel has been added to its traits. #084 – Mushi Resilient has been removed from its traits. Receptive has been added to its traits. #094 – Seismunch SPDEF has been increased 43 ⇒ 54. Seismunch has been MIA for several meta cycles, so we’ve decided to apply “the Saipat treatment” and considerably increase its bulk in the Special Defense department. #114 – Gazuma Tornado has been removed from its tech pool. Blizzard is now learned at level 67. Cage has been removed from its tech pool. Electromagnetism is now learned at level 85. This group of adjustments is the type of change we have planned for patch 1.7, so it serves as a small leak for the next patch. We consider that Gazuma has been central for many consecutive meta cycles thanks to its typing and tools. That’s why we intend to keep its support role intact, but we lower its offensive pressure by removing Tornado from its kit. On the removal of Cage and addition of Electromagnetism: this tech might not very interesting right now, but we are preparing a small buff for it. #130 – Tuwai Resilient has been removed from its traits. Air specialist has been added to its traits. #139 – Vulor Individualist has been removed from its traits. Resilient has been added to its traits. #152 – Minox Body stretch has been removed from its traits. Resilient has been added to its traits. Techniques Harmful Microwaves The type to activate its synergy has been changed from Electric ⇒ Fire. Digi-cores have been quite the headache for us to balance around. We have especially struggled with the combo of Monkko and Zaobian, that had no safe switch-ins in the whole game, all while giving each other the chance to enact a hard-hitting high priority technique on turn 1. We believe this change, while simple, will give a new life to the whole archetype. This also sl...Crema tease new Temtem game with fresh combat system alongside plans to remove all Temtem microtransactionsMar 5, 2024 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunCrema, the creators of much-liked Pokemon-like Temtem, are teasing a new untitled game set in the same universe - the mystifying Project Downbelow. It isn't Temtem: Swarm, aka Temtem Vampire Survivors, nor is it Temtem 2. But it will "try out new things we would love to see in a hypothetical Temtem 2", including a new combat system running on a "stronger" game engine. The tease accompanies news that Crema are making significant changes to Temtem as part of the game's update 1.7 - for one thing, they're getting rid of the whole microtransaction system. Temtempestuous times indeed! Read more A word on Temtem and Crema's future: an open letter to the communityMar 4, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHello, Tamers! We’re here to share with you an open letter to the community, to reach out to you. We’ve been listening to you for a long time, and we are aware of your concerns and worries. Over the past few weeks we've seen an uptick in the community expression of unhappiness and doubt following the lead-up to, and the announcement of Temtem: Swarm. We’ve been listening to and taking in that feedback, processing it internally, and we think it’s time we have an open chat with you addressing all of it. With this open letter we want to try and answer the most recent, pressing questions, to shed some light on the future of both Temtem and our studio, and to offer a bit more insight into our development decisions, learnings, and the upcoming path. This will be a long post, as we wanted to be thorough in answering your questions and provide context for our decisions. We also recognize we’ve made mistakes in the past and want to address them directly and sincerely apologize for them. We encourage everyone to please read it in full, and we hope it answers most, if not all, of your questions. Is Temtem an MMO? Back in 2018, when our Kickstarter page for Temtem was created, we tried to clarify our point of view on the MMO dimension of Temtem: that it does not have the same scope nor does it share the same bases as the MMOs most people think of when they think of the word MMO. In retrospect, we realize that the Kickstarter page was not the place where most players would get the information from. While we tried to not up-sell the multiplayer features and capabilities of the game in the store descriptions, and we have always shown the game as it is, with its flaws and strengths, we should have included something similar to the Kickstarter FAQ question to clarify it further, and amplify this information. We think this would’ve been a better course of action, and have learned from this for our future projects. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/d2f2f7e6f76ad25e3c8dc747fd86d2fa5e10a7b3.png Excerpt from our Kickstarter FAQ From the get-go, we at Crema have described Temtem as an MMO-lite; this was our desired tag from the beginning, and the one we would have used across all our platforms had it been possible. Due to the lack of this tag we settled for the closest one, which is MMO, as we believe Temtem is massive, multiplayer, and online, with all players from any part of the world, on any platform, coexisting on one sole global server, and with a unified economy that encompasses every player. That said, we have done our best in the past years to adapt Temtem to better fit the players’ desires and the MMO tag. Many activities have been designed, created and included out of the community’s request for a more fulfilling MMO experience, such as Lairs, the Trading House, and Dojo Wars. This has made Temtem grow far beyond our original intentions, and even beyond our grasp. We understand now that seeing the game being called an MMO everywhere led to expectations that we hav...Patch 1.6.1Feb 22, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsIMPROVEMENTS 👥We’ve made some improvements to Replays: Renamed Tems now will display their nickname instead of the species name. Improved the navigation through the Replay HUD while using a gamepad. BALANCE General TemCard swapping now costs 400 feathers instead of 250 Luma drops. Techniques Swarm Aid Hold Turns have been reduced 4 ⇒ 3 FIXES 👥Regular Stamina recovery being higher than intended (due to the change on rest Stamina recovery). 👥Visual bug when receiving a technique on a Temtem with Ignite Protection. 👥Some cases where untamed Tems had wrong techniques (due to balance changes). 👥Akranox having only three techniques on the Draft Arena and Mythical Lairs. 👥Voodoo applying Exhaust to an invigorated Tem instead of canceling it. 👥Seismunch’s Earthbound not activating when attacking with an Earth-type multitarget technique and one of the opponent’s Temtem is “Evading”. 👥The Umbra version for Tuwai and its evolutions not being unlocked correctly when the Luma version was previously unlocked. 👥Bamboozle hold turns not working correctly when copied by a Mimit. 👥Some cases where Galios becomes invisible and untargetable after triggering its trait against a Tem with Fainted Curse or Toxic Farewell. 👥Resilient not working as intended with techniques that do damage outside of the general damage formula (e.g. Extra Energy Slam, Hyperkinetic Strike…). 👥Ob10’s Target Replicator not working correctly and not copying the new status under some circunstances. 👥Wrecked Farewell being applied twice when KO’d by overexertion while performing a multitarget technique against two opponents. 👥The “last connection” label not being properly gendered in Portuguese. 👥A visual bug while moving the Everwinter tree furniture around the house. 👥Watching a replay played the regular battle music instead of the competitive battle music. 👥The amount of pansuns was displayed inside a lair instead of the amount of synstars after sending pansuns to another player through the Club vault feature. 👥A softlock when using Swarm Aid Synergy in a PVP combat. Events were planned as a fun little addition for endgame players to continue having tasks to work on, and goals to work towards. However, as it's happened with some features in the past, they weren't to the liking of us team, nor you Tamers. The feedback you've given us is invaluable and we've heard all of your suggestions. Still, we're unable to carry out the suggestions provided nor fulfill your expectations at this time of development, nor in the foreseeable future. They're not an easy feat to code, fix and patch promptly, and as they are now, they're causing more headaches and dissatisfaction than happiness. On a brighter note, we are giving all players the cosmetics for the Valentamers event that didn't see the light last year. No work needed for these ones! We will post the redeem instructions on Valentine's Day so be on the lookout! From now on, you won't be able to reset your character if you have an ongoing Challenge Mode run. This change is to prevent the many issues that the intersection between cross-progression and Challenge runs was causing. When you try to reset your main character, you'll get an error message if you have an active Challenge Mode run. You'll need to try again after deleting your Challenge Mode run. There is no cooldown for this. Likewise, when you try to link two platforms via cross-progression, you'll get an error message if you have an active Challenge Mode run. You'll need to delete your Challenge Mode run. There is no cooldown for this. New Stuff The Replays system is now in-game! Replays are saved automatically and players don't need to turn on anything or worry about it. All competitive PVP matches will have their replay stored, including those from friendly PVP, ranked matchmaking, in-game tournaments, and dojo wars. A total of 10 replays are saved for each player. When this limit is reached, the oldest replays will be automatically deleted to give space to new ones. Players can also pin up to 3 additional replays, which will be kept safe and won't be deleted automatically. Players can also watch replays from other players freely, all from the new Replay section of the competitive screen. While watching a replay,...TemFestivus is just around the corner! Token has been added to its move pool. Hedgine is one of the strongest digitals in the format thanks to its Gotta Go Fast Trait .This is why we've decided to remove the move that we think is the most problematic in the Hedgine kit, and we will keep watch on it and its trait to see if it needs to be adjusted for 1.6.  #131 – Tukai Noxious Bomb has been maintained in its move pool as a TC. One of the most talked-about topics in the Tuwai line has been the Noxious Bomb tech. We have considered the feedback provided and have decided to remove this tech from the entire evolutionary line except for Tukai, who relies on the interaction between this technique and Shuine's Horn for its physical set to exist at all.  #144 – Vulffy Sludge Gift has been removed from its move pool. Bush is now an Egg Technique. Petal Dagger can be learned at level 31. Vulffy is still a super dominant Temtem in the format, so we have decided to remove the tech that brought so much controversy with it. #165 – Galios SPATK has been increased from 68 ⇒ 72. Transient Echo has been removed from its move pool. Beta Burst has been added to its move pool. The gameplay of Galios has been a problem since its release, as it has not been what we expected. We think that the rotation of a 0 hold move + Transient Echo + Selfless Ruination is too flat, but also very effective. To break away from this combo and the current Galios gameplay, we have increased the pressure that Galios can apply from the start of the game, and we've slightly adjusted its signature move, as it depended directly on the interaction with Transient Echo. Techniques Toxin Shower Evasion turns 2 ⇒ 1. Platimous is probably the most consistent Temtem in the scene, and has been for several patches now. Maybe we haven't been hard enough on it, but we don't want to make the two most dominant waters of the format drop too sharply. We feel that this change that Platimous receives will greatly affect how opponents can respond to it. Binary Flood Damage has been reduced 75 ⇒ 67. STA Cost has been reduced 21 ⇒ 19. Despite the removal of this technique from the Hedgines kit, we feel that it is still a technique with excessive value, as it is an AoE non-resistance move that applies two turns of seized. Serbatiyo’s Wrath SPATK Stage Modification has been reduced 2 ⇒ 1. STA Cost has been reduced 35 ⇒ 30. Oceara is undoubtedly one of the most dominant Temtem in the format, even though toxic Tems are very popular in the meta. We want Oceara to continue having a versatile profile in terms of coverage techs, and the ability to apply speed control on the opposing team. We've decided to focus Oceara's changes on the way it scales while applying damage. We know that this is the differential concept for this Temtem, but after the nerf to Freeze, adding Water Blade to its kit made Oceara return to the format, and that's why we have ultimately op...Slay the Spire, Signalis and Unpacking publishers Humble are the next video game makers to suffer layoffsNov 15, 2023 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunHumble Games, the Humble Bundle-owned label responsible for publishing indie hits including Slay the Spire, Signalis, Unpacking, Temtem and this year’s recently Grammy-nominated RPG musical Stray Gods, have confirmed a number of layoffs. Read more Patch 1.5.1Oct 24, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsNew stuff The Ignoramus Cloack is no longer a unique item! You'll be able to obtain a second one in the Pansun route. Improvements We've reviewed a very, very long list of emotes (49 on surfing board/skates, 31 sitting/espectating) so they can be used during spectating, sitting, surfing and crystal-skating! Try your favorite emotes to see if they made the list. Lair Bonuses will now increase depending on the group size, to make Lairs more attainable. 1-player Lairs will have 3 times the Bonuses, and 2-player Lairs will have twice the Bonuses. Balance PvE We've reduced the amount of Jewels needed to revive in some parts of the Mythical Lairs for all parties of 1 or 2 players. This will only take place once you're in the second half of the Lair. Amount of Jewels needed 4 ⇒ 3. We've reduced the possibilities of getting Neutral or Crystal Tems in the Pansun Sanctum Lair. We've increased the possibilities of getting Water, Nature and Digital Tems in the Pansun Sanctum Lair. The Nature to Toxic bonus has been changed to Toxic to Nature in the Pansun Sanctum Lair. DEF and SPDEF of Lair Boss Galios has been reduced by 15%. We've adjusted the scaling up of Jewels required in DigiLairs. As announced in 1.4, DigiLairs were going to require 1 extra Jewel, but unexpected implications caused the scaling to go haywire. You'll be required 10 Jewels in base difficulty, and 13, 15, 16 and 18 as you increase the difficulty and rewards. The Umbra Radar price for some species has been adjusted, in this case, decreased. Bug Fixes All platforms Fixed a hard lock when using synergy Swarm Aid if the Temtem was under 50% of their health. Fixed a softlock in Lairs if another Lair player disconnects. Fixed a softlock when using the Piercing Wheel technique with Mimit in the Randomlocke mode. Fixed a softlock when using the Rotten Goo technique with Mimit in the Randomized and Randomlocke modes. Fixed a softlock when evolving a Tem before leaving the Lab in the Randomized and Randomlocke modes. Fixed a soft lock in DigiLairs caused by Trades being accepted. Fixed a softlock caused by being able to start a battle against the DigiLair's boss if you had no valid Temtem in your squad. Fixed a black screen if the player receives a Tem through trade in a Lair if their Squad was already full. Fixed a black screen if the player suffers a reconnect at the same time a fishing encounter pops up. Fixed getting stuck seeing the Backpack if you were intercepted by a Laser in the Cipanku Dojo, and a lot of consequential malfunctioning. Fixed Lair Offering Nodes always requesting and rewarding the same type of elements. Fixed the FreeTem! Kudo that wasn't completing properly. Fixed not seeing the entry pop-up for new zones under certain circumstances, and thus those zones not counting for the Explorer Kudo. Fixed some Weekly Challenges not being progressed by encounters in an Umbra Radar until the player relogged. It will now properly track your progress. Fixed some instances where the week...Hallow's Tem, our Halloween event, starts now!Oct 23, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsTemtem's next event! Have fun, and see you around (spookily)! Devblog: Creating GaliosOct 18, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHello, Tamers! Patch 1.5 launched late September, and with it, Temtem’s third Mythical Tem, Galios. Since it’s such an important Temtem, and the last to fulfill the Temtem roster, I sat down with Art Director Cris “Nae” Jiménez and Game Director Guillermo “YaW” Andrades to learn and share some insight on the birthing of the supernova Temtem! Grab a sippy drink and follow me. Nae, what was the goal in mind with Galios’ design? Since lore-wise Galios is in charge of rotating the Pansun’s plates and keeping the archipelago afloat, its design had to show power and omniscience. In addition, it was like the “final boss” of the game so it had to feel really special, almost like a god. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/f682aa1bd4710839cd7125c4a1b221f74b04fab2.png Was the shape something you already had in mind, or did it come later? At first we explored the idea of making a creature with a more delicate and small appearance, but with large plates around to protect it, which would allow it to be tanky despite its size. This creature would base its menace mainly on its great mental power, but this design didn’t end up working like we wanted, so we ended up discarding it. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/96fdcf9f3ef05fc65084afb45bef8a91c1372f8d.png Then we went for a slightly-bulkier and traditional tank silhouette, but with an ethereal touch, almost incorporeal, an elemental of the cosmos. The first iterations felt too mental and less earthy, so we evolved that design until we found the perfect balance. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/3aa94cc804ad0339d6257b62ba9204863ca11ce2.png How did you include and apply the cosmic theme into its design? As you can see in the previous image, the cosmic theme came quite straight from the exploration sketches for the silhouette. It seemed to fit quite well with the lore and with the mystic mood of the Tem. Besides, we had already explored this aesthetic a bit with Inkki and it had worked quite well, so with this one we wanted to go a step further. What do the color choices mean? Was it a straightforward process or did you explore other color patterns before reaching the current one? Color palettes are never a straightforward thing haha! We started exploring a darker palette, closer to the Umbra’s color range, but the colors of the types were completely lost in that scheme, so we tried to explore a more traditional palette that represented them better. However, this gave us the idea that the boss itself could be in its Umbra version the first time you face it, and thus link it in a much better way with the later appearance of these. We really loved the first tests with the blue and pink tones, but the mental type was much more predominant than the earth type, so we ended up using the original palette for the Luma and making a more balanced one for its regular look. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/3cac944293463e54a09954d81d3f385a62760749.png How was the designing process? Meet a new Temtem, discover its Lair and a huge secret...Sep 25, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsNew Stuff A new Mythical Temtem is here Galios is the third and last Mythical Temtem. With a kit focused on Doom, new Traits with new mechanics, and a brand new route and Lair, it's sure to spice things up around the Archipelago, a place it hasn't visited in eons. There's a new quest that will take you to its Lair and unprecedent new heights. You can start it at Nanto Labs, in Cipanku. A new quest and a new route Come onboard to a most distant land. The third Mythical Lair can now be unlocked, if you dare. Meet a mysterious Order on your way to Galios, and find out more about their intriguing schemes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/1bb5b5f8d1690a4e28e9eba1aa5d3bbec1cacf0d.png A new type of Temtem: Umbras are real. After teasing this for months, Umbras really do exist and have been included in this update. Umbras are a new type of differently-colored Tems. They're Lumas' dark, even rarer counterpart. They have a new effect, exclusive to them. Umbras won't spawn until you have finished their respective quest, and after defeating the third Mythical, Galios. There are three ways to obtain Umbras, whose base rate of apparition is 1/75.000: Wild: Using the base rate, an Umbra can appear in any wild battle where a Luma could appear too. If Lumas are blocked on a specific activity or battle type, Umbras will be locked too. Breeding: Umbras are infertile, but Luma parents can produce Umbra children. Each time a Temtem breeds, the base rate will be used to determine if it's an Umbra. If one of the parents is a Luma, the rate for the child being an Umbra will also be multiplied by 10 (1/7.500) and if both parents are Luma, the rate will be multiplied by 100 (1/750). Umbra Radars: These work like the current Radars, but boost Umbra odds instead. They will be purchasable with Luma Drops in Nanto Labs. These have a different icon and a tweaked UI so you can easily tell them apart from regular Radars. The Umbra rate will be multiplied according to the current radar capture number (0-100: Base rate x10; 101-200: Base rate x50; 201-300: Base rate x100). All Umbra have their SVs set to 50, all the possible Egg Techniques already learned, 0 fertility, and they will be soulbound. Please note that anything that boosts Luma chance (like Saipark or Temtem radars) doesn't boost Umbra chance, unless specifically mentioned. This is not a drill, nor a joke. Umbras really do exist. They are very hard to achieve, require huge effort, and are a steep climb from Luma hunting. Umbras are meant as a new goal for our most dedicated players, please don't expect them to casually pop up! The odds are not in anyone's favor. But still, best of luck, and we hope to see an Umbra or two soon! Time for a new Season! Season 5 is called Endless Night and it's the dark and spooky season all us goths deserve. Season 5 will be the first one to last one month longer, so it'll be on from today, September 25th, until January 29th, 2024. Remember you can see this in-game, on the upper right corner of...1.5 approaches! Here are a lot of spoilers about it.Sep 7, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsThe time has finally come to dispel some of the mystery surrounding 1.5! As you know, patch 1.5 will launch on September 25th along with Season 5. And there's a lot to talk about in this patch, so take my hand and I'll walk you through some of the most interesting or relevant features of the upcoming patch 1.5. The 3rd Mythical and its route The third and last Mythical Temtem will be landing in the game very soon! This Mythical comes with a brand new route, in a brand new area that we think will surprise and delight you! We're dying to welcome you onboard! While we don't want to give too many spoilers, this last Temtem's Traits are totally new mechanics and revolve around the Doom Status Condition, so it'll be sure to cause plenty of surprises and unexpected twists in battle. It's also chonky, if you cared. Its name starts with a G ;) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/208270c50b64f7e5ed9f84fa3cf7ebce57fccbe9.png New challenge mode Were you having a lot of fun with the random factor of the Randomlocke but suffering through the hardcore rules of the Nuzlocke? Worry not! Patch 1.5 comes with a new Challenge Mode, the Randomized mode. This means all of the random fun, less the Nuzlocke rules! Traits, Techniques, Temtem, items you find... almost everything will be randomized, but you no longer have to worry about your Temtem fainting forever, or being only able to catch 2 Tems per route. This mode is like playing normal Temtem, but in a quirky, unpredictable way. Of course, you'll be able to play co-op for this mode too (as long as you follow the Challenge Mode co-op rules), and it'll come with its new, exclusive set of rewards that follow the random theme that colors this whole mode. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/f723afbc6232234683c8ed35becf64af630e9ac1.jpg Season 5 Of course, a new big patch and the start of a new Season go hand in hand! Season 5 is called Endless Night, and will surely delight all of you who like to be a little dark, a little edgy, a little mischievous (myself included). If it truly wasn't a phase for you, you'll get the chance to prove it to everyone (and your mom) with a new Tamer Pass, new Premium and Regular cosmetics and two new events (one of them, OF COURSE, Halloween!). Welcome home, fellow goths. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32878068/c8cc5def47f4d5be34c2650286fcb48f0dd039f4.jpg Please remember that Seasons will now last a month longer! Season 5 will be the first one to have that extra month: from September 25th, until January 29th of 2024. We’d like to have more time to polish the content we put out. Some features have gotten out of hand and were becoming too big to cleanly launch in three months, leaving us with no leeway to fix issues or quickly react to unforeseen circumstances. There’s always something popping up from behind us, be it bugs, failures in the certification process, unexpected interactions… so we’d like to have some time to polish both the current patch and previous patches that might need our attention, without that eating...
