Tales from the Void

The end of Tales from the Void.Apr 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHello Tales players! It’s been almost 7 years since Tales from the Void released on Steam and thank you very much for enjoying the game. In these 7 years a lot has changed within our company and when we look back at Tales we are filled with both parental love, but also a recognition that certain elements in Tales no longer live up to our company values. The game was inspired by the British submarine “HMS E18” that mysteriously went missing in 1916 and wasn’t discovered until 2009. Tales is our imagined story about what happened to those brave sailors. During development we thought it would be interesting to use the actual names and likeness of the crew that perished along with the submarine. However, we have since grown to see this as insensitive to their memory and to those left behind. Therefore we have decided to cease making Tales from the Void available for new purchases from its 7th birthday (20th of May 2023) and going forward. Those of you who already own the game will still have access to downloading it through your Steam library - this is solely concerning new sales going forward. Thank you very much for your support and honour be the memory of the brave crew of the Royal Naval submarine HMS E18. Best regards, Bird Island (formerly PortaPlay) Tales from the Void nominated for best audioMar 30, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsPortaPlays scifi tactics game Tales from the Void has been nominated for best audio at the award event Spilprisen 2017 – a Danish game award ceremony. The event is organized by Producentforeningen – a collective of Danish Producers. We are happy and excited to be part of the best audio category with our unique and immersive soundscape for Tales from the Void. The competition is quite fierce though, as we are up against some heavy hitters like IO Interactive’s Hitman and Playdead’s Inside. But wish us luck and we might yet prevail at the award ceremony in April! A few weapons that could not be equipped by the correct marine types, now the marines should be able to equip these. Issue with AOE projectiles that did not detonate correctly under certain circumstances. Fixed an event, which rewarded a wrong, obsolete weapon not used in the final game. We have now replaced the reward with a better, more useful weapon. The patch is for PC only, we will push for MAC soon! We hope you are all enjoying the game and please dont hesitate to mail any issues or suggestions you have, to us. This night, we finally got a good nights sleep for the first time in many days (we have been crunching like there was no tomorrow, as the launch approached, in the effort to bring you the best balanced and most bug-free version of the game, as possible). So now we are rested, fresh and ready to start working on improvements and additions to the game. E.g. Fixing some known lesser bugs, improving usability here and there, adding some cool weapons that did not make it into the lunch version etc. So if equipping a gramaphone (plays music that soothes aliens), a stunmortar, a shrapnell cannon or a handheld flare that gets every alien nearby to chase you, sounds like something you would like? -then stay tuned for an upcoming update. Other suggestions for cool weapons and equipment are also very welcome. We cant promise anything off cause, but if you got a great idea that also fits with our setup for creating weapons and items, we might get inspired ny your idea and run with it :) -were totally not done yet with content and also have a evil plan for adding even more varity to the aliens (more about that later, we promise). Take care out there in the void! -with regards, the 'Tales team'.
