Gearing up for Freeplay ModeJan 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsDear Chesslikers ♟ Camera bugs and Game Freeze Fixes A huge shout out to all the Community posts, and Discord messages from the players here: We've reproduced a lot of the issues that have been reported, and have fixed some major architectural oversights that now reduces those bugs greatly! Freeplay Mode - Coming Soon! Freeplay Mode will cover several different types of Freeplay for the players. The first type that will be available soon is the "Story Replay" section. Soon we will add the "Featured" and "Player" sections containing levels from the community via the Level Editor, and levels from Multiplayer mode that you can practice with AI. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40652518/8f8fdc79f6595701288806916c05a911dd56800c.png Story Replays After beating a level in the campaign mode, you are graded and scored on the performance in the level. Now with the Story Replay modes, you can play those levels over and over to get the best possible score and grade on each level, using any pieces and items from your current party. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40652518/b17147b4b853ddc3eeb1f5479a7d8bdd3a29b930.png Tooling for Campaign Chapter 2 We're also building up our tooling internally so we can move even faster when developing the new content for the next chapter in the Campaign mode. Today is one of those updates! Direct Control in Overworld Movement We've updated the way controllers work in the overworld. You can see it featured in the latest trailer on the store page! Previously when you would press the analog stick, it would move a cursor that could select a destination for the party leader. Now when you press a direction with the analog stick, your piece will move instantly in that direction until you let go. It currently works for both the d-pad and analog stick. There were some similar controls previously for Fayette only, and only with the d-pad, but now it is extended to other party members, and controllable with the analog sticks in addition as well as the d-pad. Please let us know how you feel about this update in the comments, or on the discord! We're also super excited to announce that we've reached 600 wishlists on Steam! Thank you so much for all of your support, and especially a big shout out to the recent discord members being super active, and contributing lots of new item ideas! Thank you!
