The Story of Styx - Part 1 & 2Apr 28, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsOh, look who finally decided to show up. Don’t think I haven’t noticed you ignoring my shiny new Styx: Blades of Greed Steam page. Pathetic, really. You’re missing all the good stuff: sneak peeks, snark, and the kind of fun that only ends in betrayal (my specialty). But hey, since you clearly need catching up, I’ve graciously dumped the whole sordid tale of Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness right here. It’s a bit of a chunk to read, try not to strain that tiny brain of yours. Sit back, try to keep up, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll learn something. Just kidding. I’m standing right here, waiting for you to wishlist Styx: Blades of Greed. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3290690/Styx_Blades_of_Greed/ Go ahead. Click it. I’ll wait. What’s that? You think you’ll just skip it and pretend it doesn’t matter? Yeah, I can hear your excuses. "I’ll do it later". Sure, sure. I get it, you’re busy blah blah. I don’t care, I am busy too! You’ll quit first, though. I know you will. So go on. Show me you’re not a complete waste of space. Wishlist it. Now, last time, I gave you the grand tour of this rotten world. Humans being humans (a.k.a. the worst), orcs getting the short end of the stick, and a bunch of other races playing their parts in one giant, bloody mess. But this time? We’re talking about me. My story. My rise. My legend! Yeah, yeah, it’s been ages since my first adventure. Cry me a river. Time to refresh your memory. And for those clueless fools who don’t know my legend… well, consider yourselves honored. Not everyone gets a history lesson from the Styx. And before you get any bright ideas, yeah, there are spoilers if you never played my first adventure, Styx: Master of Shadows. If you don’t want your tiny brain ruined by the shocking truths of my past, now’s your chance to leave. Go on, discover my story by yourself, play my previous adventure Styx: Master of Shadows. I’ll wait. https://store.steampowered.com/app/242640/Styx_Master_of_Shadows/ …Still here? Good. Let’s get to it. Chapter 1: Master of Shadows (Or: The time a voice in my head wouldn’t shut up) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45528906/c4ee55ecbe4e80e39295a479fd922d49292792f2.jpg Once upon a time… I was a charming, talented, and incredibly handsome goblin with a penchant for sneaking, stealing, and stabbing. My target? The Heart of the World Tree, a big shiny blob of Amber hidden deep inside the Tower of Akenash, a giant tower in human territory. Why? Because Amber is power. It’s the sweet, addictive, glowing juice that makes me me. Smart, sneaky, deadly… basically everything you humans wish you were. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45528906/22fc32f4737a2a27c56a940a2c4872639e5c15c1.png *The Tower of Akenash houses the only World Tree on human territory.* But, of course, things weren’t that simple. See, the whole tower was crawling with guards, elves, and some nasty roach-like monsters. Plus, there was a little problem. Turns out, the more Amber I guzzled, the more I started to hear whispers. A...Styx is Back. Took You Long Enough.Mar 6, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsIt’s been over 10 years since my first grand heist in Styx: Master of Shadows, and you sorry fools have been clueless since that Shards of Darkness cliffhanger. Pathetic, really. But don’t worry, I’m here to fix your ignorance. New heists, new tricks, new powers, same dumb Inquisition, and plenty of new suckers to outsmart. In Styx: Blades of Greed, I’m done taking orders. This time, I make the rules, and I’m after the dangerous treasure yet: Quartz. Along the way, you’ll finally figure out how I ended up dealing with the Black Hand and why the Great War was basically inevitable. https://youtu.be/raQj2vqngjU The master of stealth (me) is here! You’re Welcome. What do you want? You need a tutorial? A map? Someone to hold your hand? Pathetic. But it’s your lucky day. Today I'm in a good mood. Alright, listen up: Styx: Blades of Greed is coming and that means I’ve got work to do. A brand-new adventure, bigger heists, deadlier tricks, and an even sharper tongue. Get ready to sneak, steal, and stab your way through a world on the brink of war. Got my own crew (Yes I have my own crew now), my own zeppelin (Pretty cool, huh?), and my own mission: stealing every last piece of Quartz, the most powerful resource out there in this rotten world. Problem is, like in a classic Fantasy universe, there are some self-righteous lunatics (*cough* the Inquisition *cough*) and think they can stop me. Adorable. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3290690/ An action stealth game that rewards the clever If you’re the type who charges into fights swinging, go play something else. Styx: Blades of Greed is for people who know how to think. Each mission is a puzzle, and there is not just one solution. But don't be a coward, of course you’ll have to jump right into the action with me. And I’ve got more ways than ever to mess with my enemies: Cloning & Invisibility? Check ✅Classic moves, sharper than ever. Mind control & time shift? Check ✅ Quartz brings new toys to play with. Vertical gameplay? Check ✅ Grapple, glide, and climb your way to the top. A living world? Check ✅ Three massive playgrounds for me to loot. (Oh, and for you to explore, I guess.) And a LOT more! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/27167528/0937f3dd8a8295b469d42ac5d6023b5214b13de8.jpg From pawn to boss No more working for the big guys. This time, I am the big guy. I’ve got my own crew, my own mission, and my own zeppelin (Still cool to say that for the second time). Together, we’re pulling off the heist of a lifetime, unless the Inquisition gets in our way. Spoiler: They will. Bigger spoiler: It won’t help them. Wishlist Now, or just hand over your gold early Let’s cut to the chase: Styx: Blades of Greed is coming, and you want it. You need it. And if you don’t hit that Wishlist button, well… I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want… Wait, who said that again? I forgot the rest. Whatever. Just do it. Now get out of my sight! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3290690/ {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/27167528/3755c9e6d8228d...Old school stealth 'em up Styx: Shards Of Darkness is currently free to keep on GOGNov 23, 2023 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunAs Alec wrote in his Styx: Shards of Darkness review, what the goblin stealth 'em up has going for it is purity. Wiggling their way out of bounds isn't a new trick for speedrunners by any means, but what's waiting beyond the walls in stealth romp Styx: Shards Of Darkness was not at all what I expected. As part of Summer Games Done Quick earlier today, speedrunner "Tohelot" shows off how he's able to skip through sections of the game by activating secret logic flowcharts that can be found physically hanging around beneath the level. This update is available for download right now on Steam. Here’s a summary to help you understand how the new system works: Only the Host can save the game, with the following limitations: Only Autosaves & Manual Saves (The “Save” option from the Pause Menu) are available. Quicksaves (F5 / D-Pad Right) are not available. The Client cannot save. The Host cannot save if the Client is performing an action like Jumping or Killing. When both players die, the Host can choose which save file to load. At the end of the Loading Screen, the Client will be in Spectator Mode and has to spawn. Every time the Host saves, the save file is sent to the Client which stores it locally. This means: The Client can store locally up to 3 Multiplayer save files. The Client can later use this Multiplayer save file in Solo. However, when loaded, the Client will always start at the beginning of the Sector (though their character progression and inventory will stay intact). If the Client leaves the Host’s game but decides to come back shortly after, their Profile choice will be overriden by their local Multiplayer save. This is due to the assumption that the player will want to use their latest save if they decide to come back to a game they just left. Thanks again for all your feedback and comments - they’ve been a great help in our improvement of Styx’s latest adventure!Multiplayer Saves Added!Apr 18, 2017 - Community Announcementshttp://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2017/16/1492530583-styx-winter-tease.gif Hi everyone, Thanks to all your comments and feedback, we’ve just added a much-requested feature to Styx: Shards of Darkness – a multiplayer save system! Wot I Think Styx: Shards Of DarknessMar 14, 2017 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunA few years ago, I probably would have forgiven Styx: Shards of Darkness a multitude of sins (and though there is not a multitude, there is one honking great sin). A proper stealth game that isn’t low-rent or poorly balanced, with a choice of paths and abilities but which doesn’t devolve into routine action – we didn’t used to get too many of them. Recent times have given us new Dishonoreds and Deus Exes and Metal Gear Solids and Hitmen, endless Assassin’s Creeds and even a so-so Thief, the game Styx most resembles. Hell, even the new Zelda game has a functional stealth element to it. We are spoilt for stealth choice, and that makes this fantasy wall-hugging sequel a tough sell. What it’s got on its side is purity. What it has against it is its lead character. …
