Resident Evil 4, DMC, and Monster Hunter lead huge Capcom Steam saleOct 26, 2023 - PCGamesNWith Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom yet again reminds us why it's one of the most revered publishers at the moment. A masterful ground-up reimagining of one of the most beloved games of all time that manages to at once remain faithful to the original and feel completely new, it's every bit a 'remake done right' - and it's yours at a big discount right now, joining the likes of Devil May Cry 5, Monster Hunter Rise, Ghost Trick, and much more in a huge Capcom sale. While the fighting game community has (mostly) come around on Street Fighter V, you might wonder if it's time for Capcom to cut and run to the next major entry in its flagship fighting series. According to the face of Street Fighter, that's not happening soon. "I don't have Street Fighter 6," series executive producer Yoshinori Ono tweets. "Who ever said so? Our mind is only in one place, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition work!" Then there's a winking smile, and a picture of a desk filled with Street Fighter games and Ono's trademark little Blanka toy. Evo frequently serves as the venue for major fighting game announcements, but it looks like a new Street Fighter sequel won't be among them. Street Fighter V's fourth wave new characters kicked off earlier this year with Kage, but the game has apparently ditched the traditional season pass model, so we don't yet know what will follow. While the main thrust of the recent fall update video (below) is the American mixed martial artist, the developers couldn't help but offer some glimpses into the future of the series. "Luke is an important character who will be featured in the next Street Fighter project, so we hope you try him out when he's released in Street Fighter V," producer Shuhei Matsumoto says. Series director Takayuki Nakayama, meanwhile, delves a bit deeper, saying: "For us, Street Fighter V has been a project with peaks and valleys, but thanks to our fans, we've been able to accomplish what we aimed for. We, the development team, will use this experience as a springboard to move on to the next project." Matsumoto goes on to say that, "while this is the end of this digital showcase series for Street Fighter V, this is more of a 'see you soon' rather than a 'goodbye,'" and that the team looks forward "to providing you more information next year". In spring, 2021, Rose will return to the roster with a new stage and set of "professional" costumes. Then, in summer 2021, we'll get Oro and Akira Kazama - yes, from Rival Schools - and a new Akira-themed stage. The Season 5 roadmap concludes in autumn 2021, with one more new character, who was not revealed as part of today's news. That final update will also include the Capcom Pro Tour 2022 stage, a set of CPT costumes, and another balance update. Read the rest of the story...
