While in Skye Alice meets the cheerful tomboy Piper, and they both go around the island examining the various tourist spots, from the ruins of Dunscaith Castle to the lush gardens at Armdale. It’s a sweet, slow-paced story about exploration and adventure, and (with some luck) I’ll be able to release it within the next couple of months. I'm writing a quick devlog to let you know that my most recent visual novel, My Lovey-Dovey Demon, has been released! I wrote the script back in 2021, and it took me a while to piece the whole story together. The Steam store page was up for over a year before I finally released it, so some people have been waiting on this one for a while haha It might have taken me some time to finish this project, but I tried to use this time to ensure that it's as polished as possible! The main artist, Kimoreen, did a great job with the character artwork, and all of the cute chibi cut-ins by Konayachi are adorable! I also had some help from Harmonie of Asminae Games, who created Reborn a Zombie (available for free on Steam), to do some work on the various visual effects in this VN. That means this VN has some fun effects during the CGs which I've not added to any of my previous projects such as light rays, animated particles, and moving fog. It's quite chill and relaxed, and there isn't much in the way of conflict (which might be a bit of a rarity coming from me lol), so this should be a good read if you're looking for something cosy. It's pretty similar to The Language of Love in that it's a wholesome BxG romance story, though it has a bit more of a comedy focus like My Dear Prince. During his vacation Taiki's sister, the naughty Nene, sneaks into their grandfather's study and starts rifling through his books about the occult. Taiki tries to stop her, and in the chaos, he inadvertently ends up summoning a demon from another realm. This demon has horns, wings, and a tail, dresses in black, sharp teeth... And she also happens to be utterly adorable! This demon, Elisabeth, is immediately attracted to Taiki. Now, he's stuck being buddy-buddy with a cute demon girl, when all he wanted was a bit of rest and relaxation. I think the last time I wrote a cute BxG romance story was The Language of Love, so I hope people who liked LoL will be similarly charmed by this story! The premise of My Lovey-Dovey Demon pretty goofy and it doesn't take itself too seriously. Tonally, it's pretty similar to My Dear Prince or Strawberry Vinegar, so anybody who enjoyed those stories might like this. The VN is more or less completed, and its build has been approved by Steam. I'm still waiting on a few more assets, but I should be able to release it in early January. I hope you'll enjoy My Lovey-Dovey Demon when it comes out! It’s set in an isolated all-girls’ boarding school in the Japanese countryside and it has a relaxing, soothing atmosphere. The story does contain some serious moments, but it's generally positive in tone. Out of all of my previously released yuri VNs, it's probably the most similar to Blackberry Honey, even if the setting is pretty different. The Fairy’s Secret is a linear visual novel set in modern day England which centres around the relationship between a grumpy goth and her medieval knight girlfriend. The story is of a similar length to the original Fairy’s Song and it has a similar tone. It’s quite a light-hearted story, for the most part, though there are some fantasy elements and a few moments of intrigue and mystery. This update changed a few things, including: slightly edited/updated UI a complete rework of the CG gallery code updated sound effects some small edits to the text (mostly rewording the odd sentence here and there I thought was awkward/stilted) and the sprites have blinking animations now. Amazing!!! I also compressed the sprites a bit, so now they take up less space. The game is about 500MB smaller because of it, so it should be quicker to download! These are all rather minor changes all around, but hopefully it adds some polish to this rather old release and brings it more in-line quality-wise with my newer releases. If you find any problems with the new build, such as achievements refusing to trigger, typos, or graphical bugs, please feel free to tell me. Thank you for your continued support! In this update, I... 1) Fixed a lot of typos and grammatical errors, as pointed out to me by a helpful proofreader 2) Edited a handful of scenes to make them 'flow' a bit better 3) Edited the animated fireworks effect, so it should no longer cause eye strain 4) Updated the game to the newest build of Ren'py, which should help it run more smoothly. Maybe? Well, the conversion certainly broke a bunch of my old code, which meant I had to redo it. Let's hope it was not in vain. If you find any more typos/bugs in this new build, be sure to let me know!
