State of Decay

State Of Decay 2 revisiting the first game's map in a free updateAug 24, 2021 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunUndead Labs did not come to Gamescom with news on the next game in their zombie survival sandbox series. No, they announced State Of Decay 3 in July 2020 with no information then fell silent on the topic. But Microsoft do have new news on old things. In a free update for State Of Decay 2, they're revisiting and revising Trumbull Valley, the original map from the original game. Everything old is new again. Or in this case, new again, again. Read more State Of Decay 3 has been announcedJul 23, 2020 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun Undead Labs have just revealed the next instalment of their zombie-fest survival horror, State Of Decay 3. From the reveal trailer it looks like it’s set in a snowy wilderness, complete with scary wolves, and even scarier zombified-wildlife. We also see a lonely lady just trying to get by, aptly armed with a crossbow. Microsoft have released Windows 10 editions of all their own Xbone games for several years now but if this turns out to be what some suspect, Windows may in future directly support any and all Xbox One games. Maybe. If this is what some suspect. What’s clear is that Microsoft are definitely testing something to do with games for future versions. Definitely a thing. Of some sort. (more…) The 20 best survival games on PCOct 9, 2018 - Rock, Paper, Shotgun We ve been battered by wave after wave of survival romps since Minecraft popularised the genre, with its deadly nights and groaning zombies, almost a decade ago. In its wake, we’ve been introduced to a cavalcade of punishing, persistent environments intent on putting us in an early grave. The masochistic impulse to put ourselves through the wringer for entertainment has spread to RPGs, management games, cosmic sandboxes and more than a few horror games, so even if you don t fancy punching rocks and trees while wandering around in the wilderness, you might still find a survival game to tickle your fancy. (more…) Video: 10 State of Decay 2 tips to stay aliveMay 21, 2018 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunIf the zombies don t get you in State of Decay 2, then the boastful barista will. Sure, he brews a mean cup of joe, but his self-confidence is beginning to grate and the community s morale is sinking. This might be the first survival game to be derailed by a braggart with coffee breath. As such it can feel like the world is conspiring against you, so what better time to watch a video of tips and tricks to help even the odds. Not to boast myself (RPS has a high morale community), but it ll make your life easier. Opt for a multiplayer session and you appear as visiting survivors in the host s game, in this case, Brendan s. You can help said host progress their story and bring home whatever loot you find, but it s also fine if you just want to go for a jolly in the countryside and deck deadheads in tandem. (more…) State of Decay 2 wants to take a vote on who should lead usApr 8, 2018 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunThe first State of Decay game sold 4.5 million units. Did you know that? For sure I would have guessed wrong by three million units. But that’s not to say it didn’t deserve that attention. Building a functioning society post zombie-apocalypse and getting an incredibly layered series of management tools and interpersonal squad dynamics to work in such an entertaining way is no small accomplishment. The original game’s DLC dabbled in what could be, but a true sequel has been what I’ve been waiting for. (Also I maybe ruined my settlement way too late in the game by accidentally betraying and murdering most of my fellow survivors and I was too prideful to start again. Get off my back. I just love betrayal sooooo much.) (more…) Steam summer sale: our giant recommendations listJun 23, 2017 - Rock, Paper, ShotgunThe Steam summer sale is in full blaze. The big feature for State of Decay 2 is online co-op, letting up to four players join up to romp around the end of human civilisation. Between this and Dead Rising 4’s announcement, it has been a good day for co-op zombiefun. Have a look at SoD2: … State of Decay 2 confirmed, arriving 2017Jun 13, 2016 - PC GamerAnother rumour confirmed: State of Decay 2 has been announced at Microsoft's E3 conference (which has been unusually heavy on the zombies). As is tradition, you'll venture into a zombie-infested, multiplayer world, tasked with ensuring your own survival and "exploring your own unique story in a world that remembers the choices you make". However, you'll also need to ensure the survival of others no lone wolfing, thanks. State of Decay 2's settlement-building tools are noticeably improved. The overall look is also much, much prettier than the original, which shambled its way through Steam Early Access in 2013. Pegged to arrive 2017, State of Decay 2 is another Universal Windows App, meaning it's "Windows 10 and Xbox exclusive". State of Decay contractor filled game with hidden dongsMar 11, 2015 - PC GamerState of Decay is full of dicks. In the process of upgrading the textures for the upcoming State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, developer Undead Labs found masses of man-shafts hidden in the game's art. "Some of our contractors worked a ridiculous amount of genitalia into the background," Undead Labs' senior designer Geoffrey Card told XBLA Fans. The towering total of tadgers aren't visible in the game itself—nor, it seems, in the PC version. The up-ressed textures of the game's improved special edition, however, brought the phalluses into focus. Undead Labs was not aware of the textures in question until they began the process of exporting textures for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, and they are not visible in the original edition of State of Decay," a Microsoft representative told Game Informer. "Undead Labs is no longer working with the contractor in question, and this material will not be present in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition. That they aren't visible in the original version suggests that either the textures are further improved for the Year-One re-release, or that they're placed in locations that are hidden from player view—only rising into view as the dev team comb through the original assets. Maybe a modder could, er, root out the rods. State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition is due out on PC (and Xbone) later this year. Renamed the advice-giving doctor "Schupman". Fixed a series of text errors. Fixed issues with Julene's friend becoming unresponsive when Julene would die while gathering at her house. These should now give correct bonuses. An invisible wall was removed from a small danger zone near black Friday Made a pathing change to prevent zombies from running through the back wall of the building Breakdown: Fixed localization capabilities for RV text. All: Added dump files that will help us discover why ULL Crashes are happening. Vehicles should now be repaired by advanced Workshops post siege. Eldridge's post-rescue scene (on the radio with Highroad) should no longer turn driving players into car-centaurs. Removed teleports from VIP "Found" scenes, to prevent ugliness in cases where the intended building is not cast. Made Sasquatch pacifistic and unkillable during Bloater and Screamer Hunting missions, to prevent him from screwing up the Bloater all the time. Fixed bad reference to the most advanced versions of the Infirmary that was preventing sick people from getting better. Fixed a case where Greyhound 2 soldiers were invulnerable when they became playable. Baroque church near international district should no longer appear blown out with black squares atop each steeple.
