Squirrel Forest Development Is Back on Track!Dec 25, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsAfter quite a lengthy break Squirrel Forest is back in development. There is still a lot of things to work out, bugs to squash and design to complete. However, with more time on my hands now during the winter holidays the game will receive more love and care. Apart from the technicals there is still a game design question to work out. What is the goal in terms of gameplay?. I am considering an FPI (Forest Prosperity Index) and the aim to restore the once prosperous land. All of the stuck squirrels will need to be saved and scattered resources to be gathered. Afterwards, the finite resource deposits may need to be redesigned so they could be replenished in some way. This change would ensure that once the forest is rebuilt it can continue to flourish. I am thinking about scouting trips as a way to gain the special ingredient (currently acorns) which are used to plant trees. Forest populated with trees being the main goal. Maybe the trees should have area effects after being planted? There is quite a lot of stuff to work out.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
