Sonic Adventure 2

Sonic 3 producer says it "takes a lot from Sonic Adventure 2" so I have to ask: what's going to happen to that 12 year old?Apr 24, 2024 - VG247It probably won't surprise you that, despite the numbers, Sonic 3 is borrowing a lot from Sonic Adventure 2, but I really am wondering what will happen to Maria. Can't believe I have to write this, but spoilers ahead for Sonic Adventure 2 and potentially Sonic 3 I guess? Sonic fans around the world jumped for joy when the very short first teaser was released for Sonic 3, as it featured an orchestral rendition of Live and Learn, the main theme from Sonic Adventure 2. Fans have been desperate for some Adventure-era recognition, and obviously with Shadow's introduction it was always going to borrow from it somewhat. As shared in a new interview with GamesRadar, Sonic 3 producer and Knuckles showrunner Toby Ascher spoke a bit about the upcoming film, and how it's drawing upon Sonic Adventure 2. Read more Sonic 3 is for "all the real diehard fans" says Idris Elba, and I desperately hope he means there'll be ChaoApr 17, 2024 - VG247It's sounding like Sonic 3 is set to be a hit with massive fans of the series, if you ask Knuckles himself Idris Elba anyway. When you head back and look at the Sonic film, it feels pretty clear that the film was meant to be pretty broadly appealing, likely due to execs meddling - how else do you think we ended up at ugly Sonic? Moreso, though, it mostly felt like a film that could have had any superfast animal in it hanging out with James Marsden, with a few small but fun references scattered throughout. Sonic 2 had a bit more fun with it, but based on a brief recent interview between the voice of knuckles Idris Elba and Collider, it sounds like fans have a bit more to look forward to this time. When asked about details on the film, Elba responded, " I can tease nothing. No, seriously. I don't even know what's gonna happen in it. No, I'm joking. I can tell you that it's super exciting. I can tell you that it really does get deeper into the universe of Sonic. I think 3's probably the one for all the real diehard Sonic fans. They're gonna get all of those Easter eggs in it. Jim is incredible, man. What a performance. It’s so great to work against, even though I'm never there with him, but I get to hear his voice. Bomb." Read more Sonic 3 reportedly nets the ultimate life form, Keanu Reeves, as Shadow the HedgehogApr 16, 2024 - VG247After months of rumours, speculation, and fan castings, it finally seems like the one and only Keanu Reeves has been cast as Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic 3. Many loved the idea of The Batman's Robert Pattinson as Shadow, others hoped that rumour about Anakin Skywalker himself Hayden Christensen taking it on was true, but somehow the casting gods have given us an even better result: Keanu Reeves. This comes from sources that spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, so it's not outright set in stone just yet, but THR has a long history of accurately reporting on behind the scenes news in the film industry so it's a safe bet. The casting also follows on from last week's CinemaCon, where Paramount showed off some footage of the upcoming sequel exclusively to attendees. Footage apparently showed a depressed and out of shape Dr. Robotnik, once again played by Jim Carrey, as well as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all fighting against Shadow. Another scene also showed Sonic fighting Shadow one on two, the second part of Shadow being a motorbike, an iconic vehicle of his from his PS2 solo game. We don't actually know all that much about this threequel aside from Shadow being the new protagonist, aside from the fact that it will feature the series' best song. Outside of Carrey, we do also know that Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Cristo Fernandez (Ted Lasso), as well as others, have joined the cast. Read more You heard right: Sonic 3 will feature the series' best songFeb 7, 2024 - VG247Sonic Adventure 2 fans, it'll soon be your time, as it's been confirmed that the greatest song from all of the series' games, Live and Learn, will be in Sonic 3. Last week, the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was released, mostly just giving us a good look at the game's logo - as well as some casting confirmations, too. More importantly, though, is the audio that was paired with said trailer. Around halfway through the 20 second teaser, a certain set of notes started playing that sounded an awful lot like Sonic Adventure 2's main theme, Live and Learn. As someone who has Sonic Adventure 2: Battle as one of their favourite games of all time (no, I'm not joking), I maybe freaked out just a touch, especially considering this is something fans have wanted since the first film. Now, as reported by Aftermath, we also have confirmation that the threequel will feature the iconic song. Aftermath spoke with Johnny Gioeli, lead vocalist of Crush 40, the band led by longtime Sonic composer Jun Senoue, about the musical teaser, where he confirmed that a deal has been put in place for the track to appear in Sonic 3. "I have indeed signed a deal with Paramount for song placement," Gioeli said. "How they will use it is strictly up to them. … Paramount now has the legal right to use 'Live and Learn'. in any manner they feel necessary." To explain, that means it could just be straight up the original, or it could be a reinterpreted orchestral arrangement like the one heard in the teaser trailer.
