For the last year or so, we have been (among other nice things) preparing a Nintendo Switch release of our game Solstice Chronicles: MIA. As the game was made with PC gaming in mind, a lot of optimizations, engine tweaks and a complete UI rework had to be done, but finally our effort comes to fruition. As of today, the game is available from 15:00 CET (14:00 UTC) in the Nintendo eShop in Europe, and 9:00AM PST (5:00 UTC) in North America You can buy the game at the following link . We are presenting 2 more environments for you to play in survival. Map - Tharsis Street Battle in one of the first singleplayers maps in survival mode, quite different map layout then on open desert. Map - Hangar Battle to gather supplies before evacuating with your dropship, with some twists. Both maps share similar monster spawns, and some monsters will not appear like they do in desert maps. We also provided you with extra ammunition, by adding a chance for a monster to drop a clip when killed, thus rewarding people who like to be... thorough :) Optimization We've made a huge optimization over entire game, we are also working on optimizing the game even further within next update, when this is done we will update our MINIMAL system requirements. With the new version we have implemented an option for coop to be played either with keyboard+mouse and a controller or with two controllers. Option is available through the gameplay options menu. Due to the way controllers are assigned, it is available only when accessing options from the main menu (can't be changed mid game). We have also added translations for German and French. You can change the language from the gameplay options menu. At this point there might still be some errors in the translations. Please let us know if you find any. We have also been working on improving a number of ingame skill descriptions. They’re top-down or isometric shooters in which you contend with onslaughts of skittery or lumbery alien enemies, while hoovering up weapons and ammo and dashing about opening doors. They peaked, I think it’s fair to say, with Frozenbyte’s Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds: Survivor, and Valve’s freebie Alien Swarm in 2010 gave us the best co-op incarnation of the form. But despite being able to pluck out examples from various years (not least Sigma Team’s series of Alien Shooter and Zombie Shooter series spanning a decade of releases) it still seems a very under-served format, not least in terms of experimentation and evolution. Solstice Chronicles: MIA arrives to offer an attempt at the former, but unfortunately doesn’t much succeed at the latter. We hope you like our fluffy armor.Solstice Chronicles: MIA trailer showcases a twin-stick shooter with a 'tactical twist'Jul 26, 2017 - PC GamerSolstice Chronicles: MIA, so its Steam page says, is a "tactical twist on twin-stick shooters." I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure what that means, but there's lots of gunfire and explosions, some grim, grimy environments, spots of silliness here and there, and a drone that promises to properly mix things up. It's also got a pretty decent new trailer, put out today by developer Ironward to mark the game's release.  A follow-up—but not a direct sequel—to the 2015 squad-based game The Red Solstice, Solstice Chronicles: MIA looks considerably more action-oriented, although players will still have to balance "the risk and reward of decisions that drastically change the threat you face," developer Ironward warned. "Decide between scavenging for supplies and upgrades in the face of the oncoming menace, or pushing forward, potentially unprepared for the enemies still to come."  The game will feature ugpradeable weaponry of the usual variety, including shotguns, rocket launchers, and tons o' fun heavies like the autocannon and the flamethrower. Characters can be developed through four distinct classes as well, to make them "the ultimate instrument of destruction." The drone's ability to scavenge and assist with crowd management will obviously play a big role, and the threat level management sounds like a potentially very interesting idea too: A bit like Grand Theft Auto, except that being nice and staying out of trouble really doesn't look like an option.  It even comes with a bit of game-related trivia: Solstice Chronicles: MIA is only the second Fig-funded game to be released, arriving less than a week behind the first, Kingdoms and Castles. We gave it all we had in us, and we got what we strongly believe a shooter game should be.
