Further PlanMay 21, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHi Friends, It's been a long time since the last update of the game, but for those who have stuck around with me since 2019, you know that this is pretty usual for the game. To keep it short, I finally made the decision to cancel the project as I am not able to finish it. It was a fun ride; I spent thousands of hours developing the game hand-in-hand with your feedback. But as many of you know, I'm a single independent developer with limited time. I've learned so many things on my journey developing the game. I also noticed that I massively underestimated the effort it takes to build a full-grown 3D MMORPG. For years, I've been thinking about building new, smaller games that I can actually complete. And now the time has come for me to move on in my journey as a game developer, next time with a project that I can complete. During the next few weeks, the game will be removed from Steam as I will no longer update it, and the game's current state is not something I want to keep forever. Those of you who have played the game already will still be able to play it via the library. I will keep the server online for an unknown time, but at least for a year. Removed the attack indicators for normal enemies. Removed dodging, sprinting, and stamina (none of them has really added anything to the game). Adjusted the general combat experience to achieve a simpler yet better-fitting fight. Improved the UI. Fixed a bug where pets did not spawn or did not move. Fixed an inventory bug where the secondary weapon did override another secondary weapon. Improved player spawn location on every map. Improved amount of enemies and spawn locations of every map. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz2bi67A8kk My todo list is incredibe long now and the first results got patched today: Enemies no longer drop any equipment (only mats) You don't need to buy water to craft linen anymore The gathering minigame got changed. If you fail the game you will get one instance of the material, if you win it, you will get three instances The small right-click "delete" window got removed The Crafting ui now shows how many items of a specific recipe you can craft. In addition you can now also click on recipes out of your level range to see the actual item you could craft later on When switching weapons the combo now gets fully reset There is an entire new system too. The gemstone system: All enemies now drop different gemstones which you can use to upgrade the quality (rareness) of an item. Enemies that are lower than your character level are now getting scaled up to fit your character level (happens for every player in a group individually too). That means that you can now bring your friends and even if you are level 40 you can still team up and play together while all group players will get a similiar combat-difficulty. 2. You can party with everyone and both of you will get drops and experience points (no matter what level difference) I've also worked on smoothing the combat (still working on it) :-) Have fun!Update: Combat 2.0Jun 11, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHi folks, During the last two weeks, I have reworked the entire core-combat system to make the game more exciting. This new system allows us to add even more advanced combat mechanisms in the near future. I aimed to achieve a more intense combat experience with a focus on personal skill (dodging, blocking, timing etc.). Here is what has been patched: Reworked entire AI Each enemy has slightly different behavior (allowing us to create more dynamic and unique combats) Enemies switch targets (when in a group) You can focus on an enemy using or the scroll wheel button Enemies display an attack indicator Press to dodge (costs 25 stamina) Press RMB to block (only when a shield is attached, costs 15 stamina) There is no longer any passive health regeneration Potions now have a 30-second cooldown You can no longer move while taking a potion Reduced enemy numbers on maps They say images/videos express more than words, right? JannickUpdate: Leaderboard SystemMay 23, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHi folks, a new patch is out: The new ranking system is now live! It's no longer based on level but on activity points instead 🙂 The leaderboard resets every month so that only active players can become the current MVPs. Activity points (AP) calculation: kill enemy = enemy level/4 as AP kill elite = enemy level/2 as AP kill boss = enemy level as AP Enemies only grant AP when your weapon level is +-10 level to the enemies level Other activities that grant AP: gather material = 5 AP craft material = 5 AP craft item = Item Level as AP finish daily quest = 100 AP Those calculations may change over time for sure. You can then simply open the map and click on the obelisk you want to teleport to. now closes all open windows but does not show the options window (quality of life) Players now have a 5 second target-cooldown after teleport or resurrection to prevent spawn kills Have fun! :-) v0.29 Quality of lifeApr 23, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHi a new patch is out: Patch notes Added a toggle to turn on/off your headdress (hat, helmet etc.) Improved teleporting from map to fix the freezing bug (let me know if it still occurs for someone) Increased chat message size from 100 characters to 250 Chat automatically fades out after some inactivity. It fades in when someone writes a message or you start writing a new one. Enjoy :) Update: CraftingApr 9, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsDear players, A new patch has just been released that adds a new layer of depth to the game: Crafting. You are now able to: Collect materials from enemies and other resources such as ores, plants, etc. Turn raw materials into processed ones at the smithy, workbench and tailoring station Craft weapons, jewelry, and armor The drop rates of equipment have been significantly reduced, and soon the crafting system may become the only way to obtain gear. Please be aware that some minor bugs may appear, and the system may not be perfectly balanced. January - Daily QuestsJan 10, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHi folks, I patched the game: - added daily quest system (read below) - adjusted horses (all horses have same stats to remove some p2w flair) - new pet movement system - changed user interface (added globes for life/stamina and added a small window next to the actionbar that shows all important stats and currency amounts) - added otc as reward for daily quest (read below) DAILY QUESTS Every day a new daily quests gets calculated from the server (and gets shared with every player). The quest is absolutely random generated and consists of 3-5 tasks (each task is slaying a random enemy by a random count). As a reward you get gold (random between 100k and 200k) and otc (random between 15 and 30). The quest can be completed ONCE a day. You can only see the quest AFTER completing the "main" quest line. New character editor I was very limited in terms of clothing and animations with the current two players models. So I decided to get that massive rock out my way and use a tool for character creation instead. So here are the changes: you now have a crosshair for aiming (turns from white to red when enemy is hovered) you are able to shoot from a way bigger distance visual effect (arrow trail) bows are no longer dealing aoe damage (they are single target from now on). Yesterday we got over 500 new players in total - that's awesome! This is because of the exp. changes. Your default player level will not be affected. Your weapon level will continue to gain exp when it's the same level as your player level (weapon levels can not gain exp. when the weapon level is higher as the player level).
