The Skits-A-Palooza Update!May 4, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHello Puppeteers! We’re back! That’s right, we’ve been quietly working away here and there on the game. Currently working to bring it to new platforms, but more importantly adding in new content for you! So let us tell you what we’ve got! Today we have pushed out yet another free content update we are dubbing “The Skits-A-Palooza” Update. We called it that because we’ve added Korean as a language option. Well that’s not true, I mean adding Korean is, but us naming the update because of that isn’t. We called it that because we’ve added a bunch of skits (aka mini games), but before we talk about that we want to tell you about a new character entering the fight. Some call him Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch, Missing Link... others call him Missing From the Last Update Where He Should Have Been. We think that’s a long name, so we just call him Biggy Ray Cyprus. So head to the woods, grab a stick and get to fencing with our newest addition. The main attraction of course are the new mini games we’ve added to Skits! We’ve got 6 new ways to pick fights with your friends Destroy - destroy as many asteroids as you can. Warning. The rocket is a little crazy. Escape - the early bird gets the worm they say. Too bad you are the worm. Escape the talons and survive as long as possible Joust - an epic showdown of knight versus knight, you only get one hit so make it count Run - make your way over the hill as fast as you can with your very noodly legs Hammer - our ode to Bennett Foddy, the OG of wobbly frustration, use the hammer to maneuver yourself to strike your opponent, or the target Slap - it’s like a regular fight, but you’ve got big slappin’ hands. Also can’t forget to mention the new scoring option in Improv mode, Roulette. Each round starts with a random point value, and the winner gets that many points. If you haven’t heard the exciting news, Steam recently announced Remote Play Together, which is a feature to allow local multiplayer games online with your friends! Now that it is available in Steam Beta, and since Shadow Fencer Theatre is a local multiplayer game that we want you to play with your friends, we are celebrating! Today we have pushed out a free content update we are dubbing The Great Outdoors Update. In this update you will get a new character, Lumberta, as well as a special spooky forest stage For the Log of it All, just in time for Halloween. On top of that, we have three new Skits to test your skills: Skate! Balance! And Polo! Finally we added a new scoring option to the Improv mode, called Kings. Become the king of the stage by getting the first hit in, and hold your crown as long as you can. Other updates include some changes to performance and optimizations to improve load times across all platforms. We have also made a fix to the elusive “One Take Jake” achievement. Previously the achievement was set to require the player to beat story mode without losing a life, however our strict adherence to strange theatrical terminology didn’t make that clear. Also, it’s kinda mean to ask that of a player when the gameplay can be so wobbly! We’ve updated it to be completing Story Mode without the need to Rematch a fight. Still a challenge, but certainly more understandable. We are also putting Shadow Fencer Theatre on sale on Steam for the first time, so join the fun for 33% off this week! See you on the Stage!
