Sengoku Dynasty – Test your BushidoMay 26, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/24a07538e3aea4a1f0a284d7b495480dc8e858eb.png Why this beta test? RAIDS In 1.1 we’re adding Raids, a new feature with a big impact on gameplay. Before we make it available to all players, we would like to know how you like it in their current form and what you would improve or change about them. How do raids work? Each of your villages draws the attention of nearby villains. The more enemies there are in the region, the bigger the risk of a raid happening. Fighting them off where they reside lowers that risk, but don’t let your guard down, as you’re never 100% safe! But fret not, rumors spread fast across the Nata Valley, and you will get one-day notice before a raid starts. And when it does, several waves of attackers will try to enter your village, engaging your guards, destroying your defensive structures, trying to capture your bell tower, and then looting your dynasty storages. Once they have what they came for, they will try to run away with stolen goods. You have a chance to stop them and retrieve the loot before they disappear out of your sight! And if you prefer a more peaceful playstyle, rest assured you can disable Raids in game settings. PERFORMANCE AND NETWORKING We’ve put significant effort into improving the co-op experience, especially in late game villages, so that you can enjoy the “Seven Samurai” village-defense fantasy without major technical issues. Please let us know if you see improvement on that front. There’s a lot more to the 1.1 Bushido Update, including an option to remove defeated enemy camp or build special project structures, like bridges, in your villages. The full list of changes will be made available with the final release. For now we’d like to ask for your full attention on raids and performance. As this is a beta test, you may still encounter bugs, but we believe you will still enjoy it! PS: One more small but important note. Please always update your graphics card drivers and/or install the latest drivers cleanly or again if there are fatal errors. What is the Public Stage? This is how we refer to the mode of operation where we work with a second game version on which new patches and updates can be installed and tested before they are integrated into the regular live version of the game. This means that one or more updates can be tested before they are made available to all players in Early Access. How do I participate in the Public Stage test? Some of you may not have done this before, so here are some instructions: Requirements: You must have Sengoku Dynasty in your library. The process Open your game library. Right-click on Sengoku Dynasty. Open ‘Properties’. Select the ‘BETAS’ tab. Enter this password in the field below the drop-down menu: 6RmK07O5em39LFLj1e4OvZGlrQ7OqI Click on ‘CHECK CODE’. Use the drop-down menu and select ‘releasecandidate’. This is the Public Stage version. Click on ‘Close’. Steam should now download this version of the game. IMPORTANT! Fixed the straw cloak not protecting against freezing after dying Fixed starting perks are included in the perk prediction Fixed both timer and icon for the status effect disappearing when the player selects an empty slot in the inventory Fixed the minor `freezing` notification that was activated after walking away from a source that provided the `warm` status effect Fixed that Ako could have the personal quest activated, but with no relevant dialogue Fixed naked characters not freezing in winter Fixed the straw cloak adding armor, poise, and encumbrance to player's stats Fixed encounter NPCs not loading a quest marker Fixed the delivery of building materials not bound to building animation Fixed Seasonal Quest rewards becoming stale Fixed the personal quests Harvest Protection, Scarecrow and Cold Weather. These changes are not save-compatible, so if you have them active in your save, please pass one season to apply the fix {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/33018175/59d69eddf6d3b364dad48e1cd0da2df29d31fe41.gif https://store.steampowered.com/app/1702010/Sengoku_Dynasty/ {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d3d5b777bd3a2680b706612895a897acfce64d7f.gif Mono No Aware | Update 1.0.3.0 Available!Mar 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsMono no aware (もののあはれ) is all about appreciating the impermanent nature of life. With this update, Nata Valley should feel more alive and in constant flux. Moment-to-moment the world will feel a bit different – cold, warm, wet, or hot. Each season, your villagers will request new things from you. And on a larger scale, generations will pass as you hand down your duties to your children. Do tell us how it feels – we are eager to listen to your feedback, as we continue to develop the game. Statuses Skinny-dipping in the sea in winter? Now it will get much more exciting – and dangerous – with the introduction of environmental statutes, like wet, cold, or freezing. They will affect your stats or even kill you if you’re not careful. But don’t worry, you’ll be able to counteract them by getting warmed by the fire in winter, hiding under a roof during a storm, or having a cooling drink under the scorching sun. In future updates, we plan to add even more unique statuses to fully emulate the survival aspect of Sengoku-era Japan. Personal Quests There’s always something to do in Nata Valley – now even more so with the introduction of Personal Quests. They are simple tasks, procedurally distributed among all your villagers and other friendly NPCs. They are seasonal – which means you have to activate and complete them within the timeframe of one season. When the season ends, all unfinished quests will fail, and new ones will be randomly generated. In future updates, we plan to add even more types of quests and make unique NPCs distribute them. Character Backgrounds Add a little bit of flavor and boost your character! The character editor now features a brand-new Backgrounds tab, allowing you to choose your avatar’s past. Each background grants a unique starting perk, giving you an edge by boosting XP gains in a specific Way of Life and access to a background mastery perk further down the line. Choose wisely and let your journey begin! Note that background perks are not counted towards achievements. But wait, there is a way to get them all on a single character, as they are inheritable! Passing on the Dynasty Your child was living the dream – the one in which you’re stuck in school forever! – but now he or she will finally be able to graduate and take on the task of forging a famous dynasty. The abbot will allow for the graduation ceremony, illustrated by a new animated cutscene, giving you a chance to create your new character. They will inherit your inventory, starting background perks (other perks will be reset), some XP for initial unlocks, and dynasty level. If you pass on your dynasty several times, you could even enjoy all background perks at the same time! Steam Deck Compatibility Sengoku Dynasty has reached the status “Playable” on the Steam Deck. We will keep improving the game for a better experience on Steam Deck. Changed Special Project construction site has new visuals (removed ropes and wooden columns, added more subtle bamboo marker instead) A...Sengoku Dynasty is in the Steam Spring Sale!Mar 13, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsYoukoso! Here is the second part of the Q&A answers: Will there be a militia you can create to defend the village? We plan to include basic companions (guards engaging attacking enemies) in the upcoming Village Raids feature. Will you add a higher cap for storage? Yes, we plan to increase the max stack size of items in storage. Why are there decimals in the currency? From the game design point of view, decimals give us a chance to better balance prices. If the cheapest items, such as grass, cost 1 coin, all prices have to scale up, causing an unpleasant feeling of inflation. From the narrative point of view – during the Sengoku period coins were not used for their nominal value, as it was too easy to cheat. Merchants weighed coins to determine their value and were frequently splitting them into pieces to achieve perfect balance. Will there be more armor sets? Yes, we are currently working on a new armor set. Will climate and weather affect the villagers and players? Will we get negative effects from being careless (diseases etc.)? Yes, we are currently working on implementing status effects related to weather and other environmental factors. Players will have to counteract them by, for example, wearing warm clothes or setting up a campfire. Can you adopt a child as heir? The upcoming update will expand on the existing family quest system, allowing you to pass your dynasty to your heir and continue playing the game as a new character. We do not plan to add adoption as an alternative way of becoming a parent. Will the skill/legend system be resettable? In the upcoming update when you pass your dynasty on to your heir you will reset all your character’s individual perks, while keeping starting background perks, allowing you to progress again with some head start. The legend progression represents the development of the whole Nata Valley and therefore will not get reset when your character passes. When will Sengoku come to consoles? Can we play co-op there, too? Sengoku Dynasty will be available on consoles in 2025 along with the co-op mode and cross-platform play. Can we build bridges on our own? We are looking into the possibility of player-built bridges. It may be added to the upcoming updates. Part 1 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d3d5b777bd3a2680b706612895a897acfce64d7f.gif First Sengoku Dynasty Q&A 2025Mar 4, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsYoukoso! We’re currently preparing the next update, so while we are at work, we’d like to share the answers you posted to us in the recent questionnaire. You have sent us a lot of questions, some of which go beyond what we have planned for 2025, but maybe we will come back to them later this year. You know that we always read your suggestions and ideas and implement them if they are feasible. So, keep asking us your questions here, on Discord or our social media channels and share your thoughts, ideas or feedback with us! Now without further ado here are the questions and answers! Will the character editor be expanded? Will we get more hairstyles and more dresses/clothes? Yes, our art department is working on new faces, hairstyles and clothing sets that will soon be added to the game. We are also adding character backgrounds that provide some unique starting perks. Will there be more sounds and animations for villagers? Yes, we plan to soon rework the living village simulation system, so that it feels more immersive. Will the cap for villagers be expanded? We introduced the cap mostly for optimization purposes. After recent improvements in that regard, we are considering making it customizable as a game setting in one of the upcoming updates, along with other changes around population progression. When is the new map coming? Or is it an extension to the existing map? We are currently considering expanding the existing map, but we don’t have any details to share yet. Will we get more additions to the Zen Garden? Yes, there will be more structures added to the Zen Garden category. Are there more languages to be added? There are currently no plans to localize the game into additional languages. What about summer/winter clothing? We are considering adding a feature which would allow you to dress your villagers in a clothing set of your choice. Right now, we can’t talk about details though, including whether the clothing dynamically changes with seasons. Will there be more unique quests? In the upcoming update we will be adding procedural, seasonal quests, which will be distributed by the player’s villagers and various random NPCs across the map. There are currently no plans to introduce new narrative side quests. Will the map become livelier; will you add POIs to discover? We plan to continue working on new content that will make the map more interesting. That includes things like more variety in encounters or improved neutral villages. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d3d5b777bd3a2680b706612895a897acfce64d7f.gif Dynasty Series - Community Survey!Mar 3, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/fc1688deb3690ccf5d74a46c470a583531482a77.png Over the last five years, we have received so many incredibly good, interesting and funny ideas and suggestions for Dynasty games. We have a few fixes for you and, of course, we are continuing to work hard on further improvements. Changelog FIXED Disabled HP Regen for enemies Fixed that replacement tools in production slots feature stopped working due to repair mechanic Fixed that broken tools won't be used during repair process if placed in general storage Known Issues The game can assign a broken version of a tool to the production slot instead of a functional tool. It's related to the old "logs as tools" bug. The issue will occur if the broken tool is of higher tier than available tools. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d3d5b777bd3a2680b706612895a897acfce64d7f.gif Sengoku Dynasty - Across the RealmFeb 14, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d6b3ccbdfc1e8dcacf7849b0514c6419388c4d79.png Following up on the 1.0 Daimyo Update, this patch focuses on improving your experience across the board. It offers a noticeable performance boost, along with several smaller improvements – including ranged enemies, repairing items, renaming buildings, and more! Performance We optimized systems across the whole game, including farming, environmental audio, NPC animations, AI, net code, and others. Let us know if your gameplay is now smoother, and rest assured – this is not the end of our effort, and the tech team is already working on more optimizations for the next update. Ranged AI attacks Combat just got a bit more challenging! Enemies will now attack you with bows from a distance, and switch to melee weapons when engaged up close. This comes with a bunch of smaller combat fixes and adjustments (listed below). Structures enumeration and renaming All structures crucial to your production and dynasty management are now enumerated. Additionally, you can now give distinct names to each of your buildings by targeting the foundations. That should make navigating all houses, workplaces, and beds much easier, especially in the late game. Knowledge tab Helpful tutorial entries, tips, and warning explanations are now always accessible in the new “Knowledge” tab. Its contents will be expanded in future updates. Autorun Hit that NumLock key (or RS+LS on gamepad) and run, run, run! Repairing tools and weapons When durability runs out for your more advanced tools and weapons, they will now break instead of getting destroyed. You will be able to repair those broken items, using new repair stations – for a fraction of the cost of a new item. OTHER CHANGES Added HUD icons to represent healing and stamina regen consumable effects Poise bar for hostile NPCs SFX for arrows Continuous ghost placement hints when building structures with a hammer Items that can be stored in personal containers only now show "Personal storage only” status Oil Press workstation furniture (Kitchen) for mass vegetable oil production New village gates in the Kabuki-mon style Masterwork Katana model and item New traditional meals, including a new soups meal category Decoration compositions for forager roofs Monk XP rewards for selling goods to traders New thatched rooftop for Fisherman’s Hut New standing fishing animations included in the Fisherman's Hut Changed Improved dash ability and its use in enemy behaviors Improved enemies return to base behavior Improved models, materials, and animation of several weapons and armor Adjusted enemy camps and setup (behaviors and weapons) Polished aiming with bows, including a new crosshair for aiming with a bow Adjusted map texture in Map UI Improved farming field interaction UI displaying the field name for growing plants Changed Dynasty Management sub-tab menu from vertical to horizontal layout Aligned enemy world marker with their health bar for consistent appearance Rebalan...Sengoku Dynasty – Questions and Answers 2025Jan 31, 2025 - Community Announcements‘The old year has passed, a new year begins.
