Some of the high priority problems reported by players in the past week have mostly been fixed in this update. Since our grand EA launch seven days ago we have received boatloads of feedback and suggestions addressing numerous important shortcomings in the current build of Sea of Craft. In spite of these shortcomings, we feel reassured having the ongoing support and encouragement of our awesome player base. With your help, we can continue to explore towards new horizons together, getting better and better along the way! In the week since launch we have been burning the candle at both ends thanks to the incessant appearance of problems we could never even have imagined of prior to release: Problems and poor gameplay experience related to design and building restrictions in tutorial levels Game operations and perspective tools as featured in Maya and Unity not fitting players’ preferences Critical loading errors and poor gameplay experience caused by differences in counting systems between countries Reversed default language settings (Chinese, English) Frustrating Open Sea death experience, bosses appearing without warning Vestigial ghosts, flickering visuals in the crafting system Locked cursor and framerate limit problems caused by substandard displays on developer systems (player demands on framerate limits exceeded our expectations) Most of the problems above were tested, fixed and patched as soon as you flagged them. Other than a couple of hardware problems, most of these are optimisations related to the gameplay experience. We are actively working on all bug fixes and optimisations that come our way and we are sparing no effort to bring the vibrant world of Beella to life and make our game well and truly ship-shape. The good news is that throughout the week, industrious captains like you from around the world have been hard at work at the shipyard: We saw a towering building rising from the ground in the desert oasis {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35544216/a5e1ffc6366438d6bfa65ff5d232fba87a8a9428.png We saw a squadron of tanks assembling on the sands of the archipelago {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35544216/39198e7b31c0ac3afa80bfe1f2ecbc4d3f2d3471.jpg We saw a full-size destroyer-class warship cruising the open ocean {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35544216/4b1ee4cb67594583c19a1b8cd7b1c47edab24528.png And we saw Captains striving tirelessly to achieve their dreams of flight high up in the sky {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35544216/6a9b3db2028d11e107496f116692eba99b19ace4.gif Alongside the shipbuilding maestros busily building away in Creative Mode are the legends fighting fiercely to tame the Open Sea. At the time of writing, legendary Captain “Leji” has reached the soaring heights of Level 77! The gruesome monster of the southern seas are shivering in their timbers and quaking their tentacles in fear! The road ahead is long. But with the company of our beloved Captains the journey will surely be a merry one! We will overcome one difficulty after another as surely as you will prevail over the perils of the Open Sea. Together, let us ride the wind and break the waves!Update Announcement May 2May 2, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsAbout the camera movement bug, we have searched related issues on the internet and checked a thousand times, but there still comes out that players with this issue. Finally, we searched on Steam community and we found that there are many other games met the similar issue. From other posts, seems the situation is caused by the Windows 10 installed a device called Microsoft Virtual HID Mouse. Simply remove it can probably solve the problem. So, the recommended solution step as follows: 0. Unplug all external gaming devices such as joysticks 1. Alt+Enter twice to switch the game back and forth between windowed mode and full screen 2. Change the resolution 3. Switch the input method, if your system has an input method 4. Find the Microsoft Virtual HID Mouse device and remove it 5. If none of the above methods work, please contact us and we will check with you to find out the reason of this weird problem -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Add Add a feature that returns a certain number of parts to reduce everyone's frustration when die in the open sea. Update Killed off the boss in the open sea that suddenly kill players without warning Slightly reduced the difficulty of level 6 of Chapter 2 The ball will not so easy to drop in level 7 of Chapter 2 Improved water transparency Optimize the performance of the ocean waves Optimize the underwater visibility in three creative mode Optimize the poor performance of some UI Adjust the lower limit of the horizontal board in the 7 and 10 level in the second chapter Fix Bug of steep increase in difficulty after hitting 30+ alert levels in the open sea Fix an empty pointer when resetting the open sea Update Announcement May 1May 1, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsIn the whole Sea of Craft development period, we never met the camera movement failure problem. But after our game released, we received many feedback about this issue, so our whole dev team turned the code almost upside down to find where the problem is, and finally realized that the problem is because the mouse will lose control of camera moving in high resolutions, while our R&D team doesn't got any monitor that resolution higher than 1080p to test... Now the following are the update notes: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Cancel the restrictions on upload blueprint based on others' work to the Ship Expo Adjust the collision range of the third level in Chapter 1 Unlock frame rate limit to 144 or trun off frame rate limit Set the default background music volume to 30% Support Reset button and Place down button to fix ship when players met the condition that the ship postion unormal in building mode. Fix Change default display method to fix the problem of mouse losing control that players can not move the camera, which mostly caused by Unity editor bug (Since the bug is presumed to be caused by the Unity engine, we can't be sure if the problem is fully fixed. If you still have this problem after the update, please join our Discord Channel and contact us!) Detect player's monitor resolution Refreshing room list in multiplayer mode Private room function in multiplayer mode The currency error that may occur in the open sea mode The challenge UI refreshing error that may occur in the open sea Hope you have fun!Update Announcement April 30Apr 30, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsTo all captains: We feel really sorry for some problems you encountered after entering the game for the first time. We didn’t consider the difference of number formats between different countries system during the development process, which caused players in some countries to not be able to build their ships correctly. On top of the core framework we’ve already implemented, we also have plenty of cool features and concepts that we want to share with all Captains via Sea of Craft. In the world of Sea of Craft, Early Access release also signifies the start of the “Sea of Craft Era”. According to our schedule, once the version is stabilized, the world of Beella will usher in the first industrial revolution. Powered parts and weapons driven by new technologies will emerge, and Captains’ goals and concerns in shipbuilding will also change. After release, our priorities will be optimising existing game content and fixing bugs. The growth and improvement of Sea of Craft requires the support of and suggestions from all Captains. If you have any questions about the game, feel free join our Discord channel or post your feedback to our Steam Community and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. We do of course recommend you join the Sea of Craft Discord anyway. You’ll find plenty of likeminded shipmates there. Once the Early Access version is stabilised, we will announce a large-scale Beella timeline as well as a future update plan. Below is the current status and future outlook of each part in Sea of Craft. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35544216/2e431b35903fef4e65a11ca76837dbb35bcc8bfa.gif Single Player Currently, we have three chapters available, all of which incorporate guidance and part tutorials into the level objectives.
