Have you wrecked and ruined your way through the bosses of Gielinor? Ready to flaunt your PvM power level? Combat Mastery Achievements are made for players just like you—gain recognition for your PvM prowess by completing new combat-focused tasks. This exciting new achievement system will have you tackling challenges of all difficulties as you take on bosses from 24 years of PvM history. The Combat Achievements are split into 6 tiers: Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, Master, and Grandmaster! The question is, where will you land? Where to get started To get started on this journey you just need to open up your Hero menu (F1) and go to the Achievement tab, here you will find a new section for Combat Mastery and can track your progress and plan out your next goals. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/38802315/ecfcfeb426fe4e64b2b63ec81e838c1f39e23c4d.png You can also head down to War's Retreat to speak with War about Combat Mastery. How does it work? Launching with this update is a whole slew of new Combat Achievements alongside several previous achievements being moved into this system. These Achievements are generally split into three main categories: Kill Speed, Kill Count and Mechanical achievements. Kill Speed - Defeat a boss within a timeframe.Kill Count - Defeat a boss a certain number of timesMechanical - Defeat a boss in a specified way such as avoiding being hit by a specific boss mechanic. Mechanical achievements may be split into two additional achievement subtypes. Unorthodox and Perfect. Unorthodox - Complete the encounter in an 'unorthodox' way, such as not resolving mechanicsPerfect - Complete the encounter in a 'perfect' way, such as avoiding all avoidable boss mechanics Kill times were calculated using boss completion data from the past year. We established breakpoints for each difficulty tier based on our target distribution of players across categories, further refining these with personal experience and insights from our internal team. Kill count achievements will be retroactively applied to your account once the update goes live, but kill speed achievements will not be retroactive. Keep in mind that current kill times don’t account for the exact number of players in an instance—only that the total number of players was within or below the recommended limit for the encounter. Each achievement will fall into one of the tiers, and you'll accumulate points based on the tier of the achievement you complete : Tier # of tasks Points per task Points in tier Easy 19 1 19 Medium 58 2 116 Hard 173 3 519 Elite 172 4 688 Master 92 5 460 Grandmaster 44 6 264 Total 558 2066 You don’t need to complete the achievements in any particular order—you’re free to tackle previous tiers or jump ahead to the next one.
