Rocket Rumble has come a long way since last New Years and with tons happening on the horizon, we thought we'd look back at our journey in 2022! New Year, New Logo 2022 came with a brand new Logo for the game! It's bright and fun and we think it's a huge improvement from our previous logo! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39114174/e5e5506886ee1e999589ba493216f6fd54e2420b.png Seasonal Events This past year came with 3 in game events where players collect candy and trade them in for exclusive rewards in the Rocket Rumble shop! Rewards include accessories for your characters and your Rocket Rumble profile! "Love Struck" (Valentines event) - Feb 2022 "Harrowing Halloween" (Halloween event) - October 2022 "Holiday Hustle" (Winter event) - December 2022 Both Harrowing Halloween and Holiday Hustle included the possibility to grab 2021's seasonal loot as well as brand new holiday exclusives! You can check out the stream from our latest event here: First Birthday! Rocket Rumble celebrated it's first birthday this past year on August 3rd and what a difference a year can make! We were really excited with our progress for that short amount of time! In-Person Events This past year, we were fortunate enough to be able to attend some in-person events and conventions! DreamHack Dallas: We had an absolute blast in Texas! This online event was a blast! Hand Eye Society Super Festival We were also fortunate enough to be included in this year's Hand Eye Society Super Festival! This online event was a ton of fun and showcased a lot of SUPER games! With brand new items, plus the chance to earn any goodies missed from last year, this event was a great chance to make any adjustments before we come out of Early Access next year! Halcon We participated in the ISNS Video Game Showcase at Halcon in Halifax! The aim of the showcase was to shed a spotlight on works from Nova Scotian developers. You may know we're based out of Ontario but our Producer/Community Manager is originally from Halifax and keeps close contact with the game development community there! Rocket Rumble was featured alongside some amazing games at a really incredible convention! With a Steampunk inspired track and a classic raceway, plus 2 undiscussed tracks, there's lots to look forward to! New Menu Design Rocket Rumble's menus are in the middle of a makeover! We've been working on improving the UI and creating a more unified feel to the game! We're not quite ready to share what it'll look like, but we think it's a big improvement! Holiday Event We've begun work on the next in-game event for Rocket Rumble! Coming sometime in December, expect to see brand new holiday themed cosmetics while competing to collect candy canes on the track! More... We've been working hard on making changes and improvements before our full release (TBD). We've still got lots to do but you can check out the recent changes to Rocket Rumble here: Rocket Rumble Version 0.2.78 Updates New sound effects All characters now have voices! Added additional button prompts and improved existing ones Improvements to In race Character Icons in the HUD Loading screen is fixed when exiting the game Fixed bug with tutorial crashing the game Customization Scroll bar now works as intended Disconnecting from our online servers no longer softlocks the game on the Splash screen When the Player indicator is active in options, all local players will have nametags above them during gameplay at all times. Hopefully this should help players keep track of where they are You can no longer get points for damaging yourself with your own items Killing a player with an item now rewards 4 points instead of 2 Projectiles are now effected with the Boost pads in Holo Night Fixed bugs with the demo version of the game. Fixed bug where you could load multiple tracks at once from the Character Select Added custom Keybind Menu back into the options. Although we were delayed by a whole 24 hours and they lost our luggage with all of our tradeshow goodies, we had an amazing time! We got to meet a ton of amazing people including some very talented developers and we were so fortunate so many folks wanted to stop by our booth and check out Rocket Rumble! New Levels Gamescom attendees were among the first to get to check out our Indie Circuit track! This level is one of our shortest, but it's action-packed! We took inspiration from classic car racing circuits so this level has obstacles in the form of pylons, tires, and other items you might find on a racetrack! It also has changing weather, from sun to snow to rain, and features graffiti and signs from some of our favorite studios and content creators! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39114174/7e3c9e54b29c8793091f6822e1278e7e52665214.png Tokyo Game Show We were also excited to be able to attend this year's Tokyo Game Show! Our team had a ton of fun bringing Rocket Rumble to Japan and seeing all the other amazing games at the convention! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39114174/26dac963071d7923b38577ea4a372929e9c9ecbe.png We did find a few little bugs while we were at these conventions, so once those are sorted we'll be able to share the track with all of you!
