Read more.Regarding Reported Save Data IssuesMar 28, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsWe are currently looking into and investigating reported save data issues for "Rise of the Ronin" steam edition. We have found cases where changing the Windows Security Settings would solve the issues regarding save data. Check Windows Security settings Please check and change the settings per instructions below to see if the issue is resolved. 1. Windows settings > Privacy and Security (Update and Security on windows 10) > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection 2. Click on Manage settings under Virus & threat protection settings 3. Click on Manage Controlled folder access, under Controlled foldeer access 4. If "Controlled folder access" is on, click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access > Add an allowed app > Browse all apps, and add Ronin.exe * The install location of "Ronin.exe" can be found through right clicking "Rise of the Ronin" on the steam library, or to click on Manage > Browse local files. For example, if the game is installed to the D drive, the save data would be stored in the folder location as follows: D:\Savedata Please try relocating the folder above, to the intended folder location: \Users\user-name\Documents\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata We are continuing to investigate this issues along with others. Rise of the Ronin Steam-Ver. 1.09.0.2 (03/25/2025)Mar 25, 2025 - Community Announcements■System Updates and Adjustments ・Added option ”Graphics Mode” This setting allows you to choose between "Prioritize Graphics" and "Prioritize FPS", for graphic settings in the game. When set to "Prioritize FPS," the game will automatically adjust graphics settings to maintain performance if the game falls to slow-motion. ・Adjusted Graphics Settings Performance Adjustments have been made to optimize settings that were particularly demanding on performance, which were the main causes of frame rate drops. ・Added an additional location for backup save data In case of any save data related issues, we have created another back up location for save data. Save Data Location \Users\"username"\Documents\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata\(Steam Account ID) Each data will be saved in the following location: Manual Save: "SAVEDATA**" folder (** represets numbers 00~49) Auto Save: "SAVEDATAAUTO" folder Back Up Save Data Location \Users\"username"\AppData\Local\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata\(Steam Account ID) A folder will be made for both manual and auto saves, and within them will be a file named BACKUP.BIN Rename the BACKUP.BIN file of the save data you wish to recover, to SAVEDATA.BIN Replace the SAVEDATA.BIN file in the Save Data Location with the file you have just renamed. ■Bug fixes ・Added a repair process to reapply the "Camera" for save data that has encountered an issue with missing the "Camera". If so, turn it off and check if the issue is resolved. - Google drive - MS OneDrive - Dropbox Please refer to the customer support page for more details. 【Steam】Cannot save/load ・ Retrieving and using back up save data Save data Location: \Documents\KoeiTecmo\Ronin\Savedata\(Steam Account ID) Each save will be stored in the following folders: Manual save data: "SAVEDATA**" folder (** is number between 00~49) Auto save data: "SAVEDATAAUTO" folder Rename the BACKUP.BIN in the folder of the save you wish to recover to SAVEDATA.BIN, and replace the old file. ・Activating Steam Cloud could restore the save when running the game If prompted to choose which save file to keep, we recommend to rename the save data and store it somewhere before proceeding with using the save from Steam Cloud. Settings that heavily effect performance have been adjusted within the preset. You can manually increase individual settings. ・Added ”Recommended” preset The recommended preset is the most suitable based on the specifications of your PC. ・Adjusted name of setting "FPS Limit" to "FPS" This option will lock the FPS to the set number. We have adjusted the wording of the setting for better accuracy. When set to the "Ultra" preset, there are instances where the following issues occur, regardless of PC specifications: ・FPS drops and slow performance ・Model rendering issues Changing the preset to ”High" or "Standard" may resolve these issues. Game runs in slow motion when "FPS Limit" is set to 120 Changing "FPS Limit" to 60 may resolve this issue.
