We’re a little over a week away from the launch of the free Romeo & Juliet DLC. It’s time to tell you EVERYTHING (or most of it) about the upcoming content and the free patch being released alongside it. The Romeo & Juliet DLC comes out on May 27. This update is the first Hero DLC released in Ravenswatch’s post-launch cycle. You can check our roadmap for Year 1 on our website. Now, onto the content highlights! (Beware of spoilers) Romeo & Juliet Base Kit Last week, we showcased Romeo and Juliet’s gameplay styles in a video presented by Adrien, Ravenswatch’s Game Director. It was important for us to explain how the two heroes are connected and how they play in co-op to form the iconic lovers we all know. As you may remember, the couple was first imagined as co-op exclusive characters, but, after the community’s feedback on this original take, we decided to make a broken-hearted version of Romeo and Juliet for solo players who want to experience their unique playstyle too. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42625953/8d0e166827fe4068e86d964a3e4e7048505e2080.png Romeo is a fencing master who swings his rapier with natural elegance, while Juliet is a sharpshooter who wields her gun with a steady hand. It could not be the same as the duo version as it requires another player to properly work. Talents You’ll unlock a wide variety of Talents for Romeo and Juliet. As they are two distinct characters with very different playing styles, there are 52 talents in total to experiment with. We cannot wait to see what cool synergies you can create with all those! Question: Multiplayer is considerably harder than solo, to the frustrating point. Do you plan to remedy this? Answer: Before properly answering this question, we think it's best we lay out information we have on the matter: The difficulty scales with the number of players in the game. Because more players are in the party, we need to adjust the game's difficulty so it doesn't get boring and effortless. Three different factors impact a run's difficulty in multiplayer: Number of enemies Enemy health points, depending on their category (standard or elite) Max "stagger" (stun threshold) of enemies, based on their category and the current chapterNow, when we read the first community feedback on this matter, we confronted the reports with our data and noticed only a 7% difference in global win rates between the most successful party and the least successful one. We're pushing a new patch to fix a reported crash that occurred at the end of a Chapter (during unloadings). Thank you for your reports and your help tracking this issue. Patch Note 1.1.03 🐦= Community reports Fixed Issue 🐦 Unloading Crash: Fixed a crash that could occur at the end of a Chapter during unloadingsNote: This fix will be deployed later on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch due to additional submission delays. Other Known Issue A Peer has left the Party (Crossplay) This issue may appear in a lobby with more than three players, one of whom is playing on Xbox Series or Xbox One. It can also happen if two consecutive runs are launched from the same lobby (on any platform). This is caused by a miscommunication between platforms in crossplay. A fix has been found for this issue, but its patch must go through submission processes on all platforms before being released. In the meantime, we have temporarily disabled crossplay for Xbox Series and Xbox One. This will allow players on PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch to play in crossplay with other platforms (matchmaking and invites). Xbox players can still play in multiplayer with each other but won't be able to connect with other platforms (which resulted in any case in the impossibility of launching a multiplayer game). If you encounter this issue on PC, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, you can quit the defective lobby and start a new one. A new patch on all platforms will be released to reactivate crossplay for Xbox Series and Xbox One and fix this issue. We'll let you know when it's out. We're sorry for any inconvenience this caused while roaming through Reverie. New content and features New Master Nightmare alternate patterns: The Tentacle Master Nightmare (Dark Hills) now has 3 new patterns The Faceless Master Nightmare (Storm Island) now has 4 new patterns The Claws Master Nightmare (Avalon) now has 5 new patterns Master Nightmares can now use different patterns, selected at random New Mini-bosses: Abu Al Jaan, the ancestor of all the Jinns (Storm Island) Melion, the servant knight of King Arthur transformed into a Werewolf (Avalon) New enemy: Summoner Cultist Summoner Cultists are the Elite enemy of the Cultist family They fight by summoning parts and adds of Master Nightmares Summoner Cultists are mostly found in the Blood Ritual activity, but can also spawn anywhere on the map and during Tumor fights New Activities and Map Events: Blood Rituals: Blood Rituals are triggered fights against 2 waves of enemies Falling at Death’s Door during the activity will fail the challenge. It is possible to start it again Succeeding the challenge will grant you 2 Keys Only one Blood Ritual can spawn per Chapter. No Blood Rituals can also spawn. A real winner for me in 2024 was Ravenswatch - blending familiar fairy tale figures with ARPG combat halfway between Hades and Diablo, it quickly worked its way into my heart. The first major update, Nightmares Unleashed, is set to introduce a wealth of new events, enemies, and improvements, and following a brief delay we now have confirmation it'll be here before the month of January is out.
