The 2.02 update for Puyo Puyo Champions is now live!Sep 18, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsFull patch notes are as follows: • Spectate: The Spectate feature has been added to Online. Players can spectate Free Play matches created by other players. • Color Blind Settings: Color Blind Settings has been added to Options. Allows players to change the colors of Puyo skins. • New Characters: Rafisol and Paprisu have been added as hidden playable characters. • Game Speed: An option to change game speed has been added to the pre-match Game Settings. Allows the overall match speed to be slowed down. • Puyo Skins: The Gummy skin has been added to Puyo Skins. • Board Position: An option to choose what side your board appears on has been added to the pre-match settings. You can now select a Board to use during a match. • Results: The Results screen has been updated to show more details after each match, such as maximum Chain unleashed. • Semi-Auto: The Semi-Auto feature has been added. Allows autoplay during a match when Handicap settings are set to Sweet or Mild. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 on three major consoles and PC. Sega have announced a sequel to their Tetris and Puyo mashup game and the good news is that PC players won’t be waiting around too long for a port. This is Sega’s attempt to push the cute puzzler into the competitive sphere. Initially similar to last year’s (on PC at least) Puyo Puyo Tetris, this game offers a smaller range of modes and features, but at a fittingly reduced price and a laser-focus on online multiplayer. (more…) Puyo Puyo Champions is bringing budget-priced blob-matching to the west next monthApr 23, 2019 - EurogamerIf you've been hankering for some Puyo Puyo action unsullied by Tetris (not that the two aren't a great match), then your dreams have finally been answered: Sega has announced that it will be launching Puyo Puyo Champions on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on 7th May. Puyo Puyo Champions initially released in Japan last year under the name Puyo Puyo eSports, and, as that title implies, this latest Puyo release - which, somewhat astonishingly, is the first pure Puyo Puyo game to come west in well over a decade - is heavily focussed on competitive multiplayer, offering two distinct modes for battling. One is inspired by the Puyo Puyo 2 ruleset, including offsetting, margin time, double rotation, and All Clear, while the other is based on Puyo Puyo Fever, and sees players offsetting trash to fill up a bar and trigger a special puzzle-like sequence which can be used to attack opponents.
