A new big -1/-2 orb that cannot be removed from your deck. Betsy the Leshy - The third and final boss in the forest. Betsy effects the pegboard with a unique mechanic that will make you think hard about where to fire your orbs! Run Summaries - The game now displays more interesting stats on finishing a run. This is laying the groundwork for us to do more with this in the future. Take screenshots and show your friends how awesome (or terrible) your run was! Seeding - Runs are now seeded. You can share seeds with people, and do custom runs with specific seeds! You can paste seeds into the input UI with Ctrl+V on PC (seeds are written using numbers 1-9). New Forest Map Visuals - A visual overhaul of the Forest map, and some updates to the other maps too. New Item Indicator - An exclamation mark icon will now show up on orbs and relics you haven’t unlocked yet. Shop Orbs Price Reduction - Haglin has reduced the prices of orbs in their shop! New Cursor - The game now has a cute custom cursor! It should help you know when you’re hovering over an enemy or about to fire your orb. There is also an option to turn it off if you prefer. New Leshy on Life - Defeat Betsy the Leshy. In a Prickle - Get three Bramballs stuck in the Leshy's vines at the same time. Eggstravaganza - Win a run with two eggs in your satchel. Balladroit Rework - Start each battle with Ballwark equal to the number of orbs in your deck, or 2 x (your orb's largest base damage), whichever is higher. We hope this opens the floor up for more variety of synergies and builds for Balladin. Added Advantarge - Whenever an effect causes you to gain Muscircle, gain 2 Ballwark. Training Tabard - For every 10 Ballwark you gain, gain 1 Muscircle. Shield Basher - Makes shielded pegs able to be activated. Debuff Distractor - Gain 1 Ballusion for every stack of negative status effect you apply to an enemy. Spinsepsion - Enemy Spinfection will increase each turn instead of decreasing. Aliensrock - ??? Miniboss Meetup - ??? Balance Changes Cruciball 12 now only reduces regular bomb damage by 10 instead of 15. Cruciball 14 now only reduces Max HP by 15% instead of 20%. Knight Shields have been nerfed. They are no longer immune to transpherency, take 30 damage when one of their shield pegs is destroyed, and shield health has been reduced on Cruciball 6+. Transpherency now works on 10% increments. Haglin's Hat Changed to Common. Grubby Gloves Spinfection reduced from 2 to 1. Betsy's Hedge base damage bonus has been increased to +2 for each crit peg on the board. Thesaurosus (Dragon Boss) health increased by 20%. The slime boss’s board now has extra slime pegs at the bottom of it. The boss’s health has increased a little to balance this, but the fight should be easier overall. Avogadro (Mole Boss) and plant minions' health has been increased. This should hopefully make all 3 forest bosses more similar in difficulty. Our team has been having fun exploring the games in this festival, we've found so many indie gems. New Content New Boss Relic - Endless DevouRing: All attacks get 2x damage but every peg activated gets downgraded -4. New Roundrel Relic - Is Dis Your Card (I'm sorry): When discarding an orb, gain Ballusion equal to 2x the orb's crit damage stat. New Roundrel Relic - Steady Scope: Every shot fired has a chance to trigger a crit equal to 2x your Ballusion. New Roundrel Relic - Distraction Reaction: After taking X damage, gain X ballusion (this will be increased to gaining 2X ballusion in the next update). New Roundrel Relic - Mauliflower: Add 1 Spinesse whenever 3 Crits are Triggered. Refreshircle and Critsoballos now create 1/2/3 bonus special pegs of their respective types when drawn. Balance Changes More slime types are now levelled up when their peg gets buffed (or debuffed!). Peg upgrading has been dialled up across the board to help it scale a bit further into a run and to help it upgrade slime more effectively - we're still working on end-game scaling for this synergy but it's improved a bit for now. When slime is applied to a durable peg it resets the peg's hit count, allowing more hits on the new slime before the peg pops. Positive slime from Prime Slime will no longer clobber other slime, allowing it to coat more pegs more effectively. Beleaguered Boots Ballusion Threshold increased to 300 (description doesn't reflect this new functionality yet, will be fixed next update) Mines Ghost Miniboss damage increased by 1. Many non-synergistic Boss Relics removed from possible character relic pools. Nimball stats have been increased. Mirrors no longer reflect damage when hit from behind with a Round a Bout crit attack. Bug Fixes Having a navigation orb get stuck and despawn during scenario navigation no longer softlocks the game. Mines Ghost Miniboss should now always start with the correct number of refresh pegs instead of sometimes starting with non-refresh pegs. Pegs can now only splash nearby pegs once per shot, which should help reduce infinite loops when using Refreshing Punch with many refresh pegs on the board. Big shiny announcement here today - we’re officially announcing the next game that we’ll be working on after Peglin so we can make its Steam page public and show off its prototype alongside Peglin at SXSW! Fowl Damage {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37639869/9960409c345eccc0925c367d63e261849552a1bf.gif Fowl Damage is an atmospheric puzzle platformer where your default jump provides enough fall damage to destroy you! You’ll have to carefully manage your jumps and falls as you adventure through this chilling, beautiful, and occasionally cute world. It’s definitely a bit of a departure from Peglin but it’s a game that one of our designers, May, has been working on for a few years and it’s a really beautiful game that we’d love to help share with people any way we can. We’ll mostly be publishing it, but we’ll be doing a little bit of co-development too. We’re planning on releasing Fowl Damage fully (no Early Access for this one since it’s a bit more linear) between 8-12 months from now! FAQ: Will this slow down Peglin updates? Not in any significant way - Fowl Damage has been 90% completed by May as a solo developer (who has been helping us out with Peglin part-time for over a year). We’re also growing the team a little bit to help support both games and the bulk of the work will happen once Peglin has gone gold. We’re mostly just announcing Fowl Damage now so that we can start sharing it and submitting it to events until it releases! I’ve seen Saturday Morning Rogue on the RNG Steam page - what is that and will it ever be released? Saturday Morning Rogue was a jam project that a small side-team (mostly non-RNG peeps) had hacked together in a month in an attempt to put a small, cheap Roguelike out on Steam in a short amount of time. Unfortunately everyone has been too busy to put the finishing touches on it (it was started a little before Peglin went into Early Access and the RNG lives imploded 😵‍💫) - it is something that we would like to revisit and finish up once the dust starts to settle though! A bunch of new achievements and an achievement viewer on the main menu! Lazorb : Pierces through pegs and fires like a laser. Collatorball Damage : Rigged bomb variant of the Bob-Orb. Chopping Ballock : Creates shield pegs and deals extra damage for each shield peg on the board. Reforbisher : Massively buffs pegs it hits but deals no damage. Potion Ballt : A multiball orb that splits into other slime applying orbs. Opposite Rearction : Sets a path when fired and makes the next orb multiball along that path. Balleviation : Applies a new type of damage reduction slime. Leaf The Rest For Later : Adds 10 refreshes but makes refreshing only reset 4 pegs. New “Midas” scenario with a special orb. New "Investment" opportunities with Gamblin. Brick peg physics reworked to make powerslides easier and more fun! Dragon peg board is now randomized each time. Treasure Nodes now navigate when there is only one path (to give extra chances to pop all the bombs). OffeRing damage increased by 1/1 at all levels, self-damage reduced to 2 at all levels, and requires fewer pegs hit to travel further. Splatorb and Twooze Company are now common. Ballpeen Hammer and Fiery Furnace now add 4 ballwark instead of 5. Weaponized Envy relic buffed from dealing damage based on lost health to dealing damage based on any amount healed. Patch Notes New content & changes • In-game UI added to explain how to unlock the new characters (if not already unlocked) • Mask of Sorrow : Whenever you add a negative status effect to an enemy, add one additional. • Grubby Gloves : Whenever an attack hits an enemy, add 2 Spinfection. • Choke Mod : Bombs apply 1 Spinfection to enemies • Nerfs for Brassicaceae Knuckles, Irresponsiball and Countorb Attack. They're all still pretty powerful, but shouldn't be instant-win buttons without at least some synergy now. • Mines Shade battle has been changed to scale up both the damage that it deals and the damage that it can take, to provide more leeway and speed up the battle for particular strategies • Protectorb ballwark generation increased at all levels • Weighted Chip second 0.5x slot has had its misnavigation damage removed • Statuses have been limited to 999 • Relic Inspection and Acceptance SFX Improvements • Custom run relic list icons appear clearer now • Ballution has been renamed to Spinfection (technically happened in-between releases) • Slime miniboss HP has been reduced and its pegboard has been updated. It’s been a wild ride but it’s also been a ton of fun. We’re still a little ways away from v1.0, but we’re happy to have rounded the corner to v.0.9 (up to v0.9.03) this past week and to be able to get back to more regular content updates now that the framework for classes is in-game! We can’t go into as much detail for patch notes as we usually do since we added so much content in one release, but here are the important bits: v0.9 Patch Notes We really appreciate everyone’s patience as we rolled out the update and frantically patched out bugs as they were reported. It wasn’t the smoothest release we’ve done (we really wanted to share what we’ve been working on and have something out for the 1 year anniversary of the Early Access release and we kept cramming content in instead of testing and polishing as much as we should've, so that is our bad. Future releases will be more stable!). After a few hotfixes things are looking a lot better though, so let’s look at some of the things that were added! Two new classes! Roundrel – survives through cunning, treachery, and luck; dispatching foes with orbs and relics that rely on well-placed crits and strategic status effects. Balladin – dominates enemies with orbs and relics that focus on unbreakable defense and powerful attacks. 3 new achievements, 2 of which might have unlocks associated with them… A ton of new orbs and relics to introduce some brand new synergies and provide support to existing ones New status effect for enemies (Ballution – enemies take ten damage per Ballution per turn) New status effect for players (Ballwark – block one damage per Ballwark on Peglin, Ballwark is then removed equal to damage taken) New Mines Boss - Thesaurosus the Avaricious Dragon New Mines Regular encounter Castle Map Graphic Overhaul Collection of UI/UX improvements Fixes Critiball + Brick Peg softlock Branch of Ember and Pocketwatch appear properly in the store now And more!
