Halloween Update out now!Oct 25, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsWell, it only took 2 years, but here we are. Nice Shot! The Gun Golfing Game finally has new content! And not just new content. This update hosts a whole slew of improvements to the game! We improved visual fidelity, performance, and loading times. We added some multiplayer features, and a new improvement to the range finder. Now when you rangefind with your gun, you can see the aim point on the minimap. This makes some of the more precision golf much easier to do, and will be a great help on the low-visibility Desolate Dunes. Add on to that a half dozen bug and other miscellaneous fixes, and you've got yourself an update! So, about the new course. Desolate Dunes is actually pretty welcoming during the day. But this is a Halloween update, so that won't do at all! Desolate Dunes is a very challenging, low-visibility course. Seeing ahead is hard, but your new rangefinder improvement, the minimap, and some smarts will get you far! As the name would imply, there is a lot of elevation change and a whole ton of sand. All of the little challenges add up to Desolate Dunes being an advanced-difficulty course. Make sure you're brushed up on your gun golf skills! The full patch notes are below: V1.1.0 patch notes: New Content - Brand new course: Desolate Dunes Improvements - Graphical fidelity update. The game looks much better now. - Faster load times. - Improved performance. New Features - Added additional ammo (5 shots total) to each of the guns, with the exception of the special unlockable gun, which is now down to 1 shot. Consider this a gift from Tiger Woods to Dunkey. - Your ball color is now visible to other players in multiplayer. - You can now view the scorecard in-game in multiplayer. - Added a rangefinder indicator. Now, when you are rangefinding with your gun, you can see the aim point on the minimap. Bug/Misc Fixes: - Fixed the bug where your ball could get stuck on top of a rock and be unreachable. The game will now consider it out of bounds and reset. (about time) - Fixed a bug where your camera would be sticky at the minimum or maximum of your vertical look range. - Fixed a bug that didn't always accurately get what terrain your ball is on. - Modified wind behavior based on the course. More difficult courses will have a higher chance of difficult wind. - Increased power of the Fairway Rifle. - Made minor tweaks to gun powers to bring them more along the lines of expected behavior. We hope you enjoy your new and improved gun golf, we sure enjoyed making it better. Regards, PolyGryphGun Golf is back on the menu!Oct 11, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsEarly this year, we announced that support for Nice Shot! was being put on hiatus. Due to a number of circumstances, we have had the time to bring Nice Shot! back up to par! This is excellent news for our players, since we will now be able to provide bug fixes and support. But it's also great news for us, since we now get to release that free content update we started on last year (which is also good news for our players)! In addition, this will not just be a content update. There is a list of improvements, new features, and bug fixes riding along too! Look forward to the Nice Shot! The Gun Golfing Game update, scheduled for October 25th, 2020!Nice Shot Support Discontinuing TemporarilyApr 12, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsUnfortunately, support for Nice Shot is temporarily over. We plan on supporting Nice Shot in the future, but at the current time it isn't worth the studio's limited resources. We really appreciate your support of the game, and feel you deserve an explanation. We were working on a free content update for the game when the project file got corrupted. The fix involved updating a lot of stuff, but unfortunately the end result of getting the project back left us with a few months of work to do in addition to finishing the content update. We had to make the tough call to discontinue support for the game. Financially, Nice Shot did not do well enough to justify spending a few months getting the game in a shape to update again when the resources would be better spent on developing a new IP. We fully intend on returning to Nice Shot in the future when we have the resources to do so without having to worry about the future of the studio, however there is no telling when that is. We sincerely apologize for this, and we hope that you can enjoy the game in the state that it's currently in until we can come back to it. We like to think it's still a pretty chill time. Best wishes, PolyGryphNice Shot V 1.0.3 PatchJan 7, 2019 - Community AnnouncementsThis is a small, non-essential patch: -Fixed UI bug that misrepresented your progress in unlocking the final weapon. If you notice any more bugs, feel free to contact us or post your issue in the community! Thanks!SoundtrackDec 10, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsI've had several people ask me about the soundtrack. The good news is that all of the songs used in the game are Creative Commons and free to download (and use with attribution in your own projects). Here is the list, with links: Main Menu: "Chords for David" by Pitx Tutorial Hole and Driving Range: "On my Way" by Kevin MacLeod (On the Incompetech site, you have to search the music by name) Mountain Meadows, in order: "Guitalele's Happy Place" by Stephan Kertenburg "Paper Planes Durden ft. Airtone" by Durden "Sunshine" by Kevin MacLeod Autumn Alcove: "Samba Isobel" by Kevin MacLeod "Apero Hour" by Kevin Macleod "Local Forecast" by Kevin Macleod Palm Paradise: "Blue Ska" by Kevin Macleod "Enchanting" by Audio Hero "St Bop" by Audio Hero Enjoy!Nice Shot V 1.0.2 PatchNov 21, 2018 - Community Announcements- On style mode in multiplayer, the scorecard will have a smaller text size to accommodate the larger numbers. - In multiplayer, the text reading 9999y while other players are loading in is gone. - The water collider on Palm Paradise hole 11 was a bit low. We adjusted it to its correct height. - Preemptively fixed an integer underflow bug on multiplayer style mode, as well as put cheating prevention in place for multiplayer strokes mode. - While in-game, the mouse is now contained to the window in windowed mode or while playing with multiple monitors. - Fixed a bug introduced in the 1.0.1 patch where the scores wouldn't properly tick up on the end screen. - Improved the UI experience for windowed players. - Added a version number on the main menu. Thanks again for your support!Nice Shot V 1.0.1 PatchNov 18, 2018 - Community AnnouncementsThe 1.0.1 patch is half patch, half update. Here's what is different in 1.0.1: -Multiplayer should now be cross-region! In the interest of transparency regarding this decision: **This was accomplished by signing everyone on to one server, specifically U.S. East. This server was chosen based on sales data showing that choosing this region will negatively affect the least amount of buyers. **If/when the game sells enough copies and has enough of an active player base to justify going back to regional mp with a cross-region opt-in we may do so to improve ping (more on that below), but we wanted to make it easier for our players to find multiplayer matches. **Concerning the lower pings that will inevitably come with this decision, your ping doesn't actually matter that much for this game, as you can't interact with your opponents ball anyway. A lower ping just means it takes up to an extra quarter second for your hit to register on the other players screens. This will not affect the hole timer as that code is handled client side. - In multiplayer games, you can now spectate the other player(s) after you have finished the hole. - Fixed a major bug where your ball would easily get stuck on the rocks in Autumn Alcove. Also added some code to detect if your ball is stuck in the rocks, though this should now be an extreme corner case. -You can now press space on the end hole point tally to instantly show your bonuses and point totals, rather that waiting for the animation to end. -Minor typo fixes in the interface. -Fixed lobby auto-refresh bug. -Removed useless/unused key binding descriptions from launch options. Thank you for buying Nice Shot! We hope this update improves your gun golfing experience!
