Nexomon: Extinction

2.0.1 Fixes and new FollowersJun 17, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsIf the player triggers the Abyssal post-game content, Greater Drake sidequests in the skeleton maps are lost as the maps are destroyed. Not only does it make capturing those drakes impossible, but it also prevents the player from using Eliza's duplication feature to find legendaries in the wild (including the Abyssal Tyrants). The 4 destroyed maps now also contain the Greater Drake sidequests. SafeMode file loading (holding L+R for 10 seconds on a save slot) will now always teleport the player to the orphanage. Since Eliza is gone after fighting Kroma, the player wouldn't get her hint on Venefelis' maze pattern. Her character now stays until the player beats Venefelis. Tyrant Byeol can now also spawn at the orphanage woods. Nexomon without favorite meals: Deyam line, and Masquiti line. It's possible to use the Portable Warpstone shortly after the Ignitia elevator attack sequence, letting the player re-take the elevator even thought it's not fixed yet, making them spawn in the middle of the lava. The Portable Warpstone is now disabled during this sequence. Desktop and Mobile: Added a Discord server invite button in the Settings menu. The inventory will prioritize the Portable Warpstone and Portable Storage items to appear higher on the list, for convenience. Minor collision fixes and misplaced grasses in the Abyssal region. Bonnie's dialogue to unlock the Tier-MAX cores in the Abyssal Region has been moved to the map with a giant boulder (north from camp). Furthermore, Bonnie's dialogue has been duplicated to other locations (but once you've talked to her, she disappears from all said locations): -- ⦿ Near the frozen cavern. -- ⦿ Near the cook camp. -- ⦿ Entrance of dark maze. -- ⦿ Inside the miners' cave. Several new followers added. They are only visible in the list if you have unlocked them: -- ⦿ Meeting Atlas unlocks him as a follower. -- ⦿ Winning the Cadium Arena unlocks Derek. -- ⦿ Resurrecting Nivalis unlocks Lobo. -- ⦿ Beating the main story unlocks Coco. -- ⦿ Beating Volcel unlocks Ross. -- ⦿ Learning to Lure unlocks Nora. -- ⦿ Beating Kroma unlocks Eliza. -- ⦿ Completing the main story, the post-game, every sidequest, and owning all 427 Nexomon, unlocks as a follower: Trashman. And also Ulzar. Growth berries didn't reset the current EXP to zero. Patch of grass in the Precursor Valley's dark maze was not reacting to the player. An alternative way to unlock Eliza's duplication feature is to beat the post-game. Releasing an "unique" Nexomon would mark it as uncaught even if the player has duplicates. Now, it will only be marked as uncaught if the player truly doesn't have more instances of that unique Nexomon. This is not retroactive - if you accidentally released an unique Nexomon before this update, you will still need to catch it again. Cost of Growth Berries at the Friendship Shop reduced from 10 to 5. Feeding grapes to Moga will inflict Poison. Abyssal Tyrant portraits during dialogues had low resolution. The Abyssal Tyrants have returned!Jun 13, 2022 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37772404/8d0c6bbb4223871ceb0cb0687b2d4d9e7695bb76.png Tamers! A new post-game questline has become available, along with 46 new Nexomon! To trigger the post-game events, you'll need to fulfill some requirements: Have completed the main story. Have completed sidequests 11, 35 and 36. Then, you'll be able to go to the orphanage and trigger the questline! This content update brings: 46 new Nexomon, along with cosmic versions. A new playable region. A Luring mechanic (unlocked during the new questline) that can boost the apparition rate of a specific Nexomon by x15! A new shop (visit the Talking Tree) where you can buy gadgets such as the Portable Warpstone and Portable Storage! A new tier of Cores, which you can craft after certain events in the new region. Encounters in the new region have boosted stats, and their level will scale along with your strongest party member (minimum lvl 70), but will yield twice as much EXP. Be ready for a new challenge in the world of Nexomon! Join our Discord community to discuss your new adventure! https://discord.gg/bs659QDCustom ModeJan 25, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsBig news, tamers! Today we are bringing Custom Mode, a special game mode available after completing the game. With a Custom file, you'll be able to adjust all manner of settings for a very unique adventure! Things like permanently fainting a Nexomon, randomization, adjusted difficulty and copying Nexomon from other files has been requested a lot, so we've put it all under this system. A lot has changed since our last announcement - you might want to check our Discord server's #timeline channel (https://discord.gg/vVwktEU3FZ) for the most details, but a few things worth pointing out are: Added Japanese, Korean and Chinese Simplified languages. The Legendaries are no longer cosmic-locked. If you have completed all post-game sidequests you can speak to Eliza and ask her to spawn them in the wild! The Database now displays a small "swords" icon, which counts how many times you've defeated a monster. One of its purposes is to improve the cosmic chance for that particular Nexomon. One point per defeat, up to 607 meaning that the new best possible cosmic chance is 1 in 1000. Sadly this counter is not retroactive, your previous battles wouldn't be factored in. Custom Mode Settings Copy a Nexomon Team from another Save File. Copy a Nexomon Storage from another Save File. Copy an Inventory and Wallet from another Save File. Some items won't be copied (such as charms). Randomize Starters: Only unevolved Nexomon. Include evolved Nexomon. Include evolved Nexomon and legendaries. Randomize Wild Encounters: Scramble the official distribution (i.e. pools are moved around). Completely random from the entire roster (no distribution at all). Randomize Tamer Parties: Keep the original evolution stage. Use an equivalent or greater evolution stage. Use any random evolution stage. Mutate Tamer Parties: Every time a tamer is defeated, their party is re-randomized so each encounter is different ("Randomize Tamer Parties" must be enabled). Allow Story Boss Randomization: Allow story-related enemies to be randomized when "Randomize Tamer Parties" is enabled. Capture Restriction: Only the very first Nexomon encountered in each map may be captured. Randomize Overworld Items: Randomize items found on the ground and in chests: Randomize Ore Boulders: Randomize items found in ore boulders Max Level: Disable level cap (actually it becomes 999). Early Evolved Encounters: Allow evolved stages to appear in the wild even early on. Increased Difficulty: Boost the overall level difficulty of all encounters, up to +90 extra levels. Permanently Faint Nexomon: Fainted Nexomon cannot be restored. Losing the game causes this setting to be disabled so it can be played normally. Fainted Nexomon cannot be restored. Losing the game causes your save file to be permanently locked. Limit Battle Items: Set a limit from 0 to 5 items that may be used in a battle. Disable Shopping: You cannot buy or sell items. Flee From Battles: Disable the Flee command. Boost Coins (wild and tamer encounters): Up t...Synergy Cores, Avatars, QoL improvements and lots of new items!Sep 8, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHello tamers! A lot has changed since the previous post. These few days we've focused on bringing in lots of quality-of-life improvements and a bunch of new avatars. You can check the changes below, but we also wanted to talk about one important update to your gameplay experience: Synergy Cores These new and expensive cores act similarly to EXP Shares. Equipping them to a Nexomon will let them copy a % of the EXP earned by all other team members without having to fight. What's more, if the other members are using EXP Cores, the Synergy Core will actually include that in its equation! A few of these cores have been placed in chests near the orphanage to help new players familiarize themselves with this highly requested item. But crafting them is not easy, and you'll need plenty of shards of every type. Fortunately we also added new items such as the Ultra Pickaxe and Mining Goggles which will boost you in that regard. The other relatively large change is the fact that we moved the points in the story in which evolved monsters start appearing. The "tier-2" monsters were showing up as soon as you finished the Hostages mission, and the "tier-3" right after saving Ignitia. It seems both points were premature. So we've moved the "tier-2" trigger to saving Ignitia, and the "tier-3" to the completion of the Drake Isles chapter. However, tamers may continue using evolved forms early on, as it was deemed acceptable and beneficial for the game's difficulty. New features You can now sprint by holding the "cancel" button (L for keyboards, B for Xbox, Circle for PS4). It is now possible to sort all Storage Groups at once, which is useful for those trying to build something like a living dex. Simply use the Sort shortcut from the Homepage instead of inside a Group. You can now unequip all cores from the Team menu (L3/Minus button) while a Nexomon is selected. Himalayan Salt Crystals have begun growing in some remote areas. Breaking them will restore your party (saving a trip to the medic, which is useful early game), but they are relatively scarce and can take 15-20 minutes to respawn. The evolution level now appears in the database info window. It is now possible to cancel an evolution by pressing the Back button and confirming. You can now command your Nexomon to rest during battle with the RS/R3 button. This restores 15 stamina. New Items Synergy Cores implemented. They will copy a % of the EXP received by the other team members. There are three tiers: 8% / 16% / 25%. Added "Running Shoes" item. Having it in your inventory will guarantee fleeing from battles. Note that this is unrelated to the sprinting function, which you can already do. Added Ultra Pickaxe item, which can yield 1-3 shards. Added Mining Goggles item, which lowers the shard respawn timer to 10-15 min (from 15-20 min). Added "Healthy Charm" items. For each charm, the party is restored by +3% HP per battle won. Only three charms exist via chests. Added "Workout Charm" items. For each charm, th...Fullscreen, Exit, Skill Reordering and more!Aug 31, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsNew features Added setting. Added setting. You can now nickname a monster from the Team menu. You can now reorder a Nexomon's skills from the Team menu. Changes & Improvements Flee chance increased to 80%, and if the player has failed once already, it becomes 95%. Improved apparition rates of tier-1 and tier-2 against tier-3. We expect to tweak this further in a more dynamic way later. Moderately increased chance of finding an Extinct Nexomon. When using skills of a matching element as yours, they will deal +15% damage. We will continue tweaking this to find a proper balance. For consistency, several menus and prompts will now force Nexomon nicknames to be uppercase. Bug Fixes Fixed the "Vanity Issues" nicknaming achievement, which was not being unlocked via the Capture scene (only worked from the Storage). Fixed a bug allowing the player to open the menu while moving, which could have unexpected effects like having it overlap a wild battle scene (e.g. open it while entering a shaking grass). Fixed the dialogue for an NPC in Ignitia's Mining Club which would show and also disregard the player's gender. Fixed the sign in front of a Parum building which read . Fixed a glitch where the Guild Admin stops you from entering the upper levels despite not being present at a specific point in the story. Fixed description for Plasma Star skill. It said "Psychic" when it should be "Physical" (i.e. Normal) damage. Fixed healer NPC in Cadium who was missing a healing icon. Fixed a visual glitch during a post-game quest in Cadium to acquire a legendary Nexomon. Fixed "Blue Mirror" skill. It is supposed to reflect Normal damage, but it was reflecting damage from all other elements instead. Fixed visual glitch with the playtime counter in the Profile menu which caused it to restart for every 24 hours. This was only visual and no playtime data should be lost. Fixed the Database ordered-by-rarity view. Fixed the Database ordered-by-name view. As always we are carefully reviewing your feedback. The difficulty of Nexomon: Extinction has been a major concern of ours. We've been working hard on a major rebalance of the entire campaign - there is a lot going on in the latest update! The Dynamic Difficulty The backbone of our open-world-like experience is how the wild and the tamers appear to grow stronger in response to certain actions (the majority being story-progression). However, it appears we overdid it in our earlier versions of the game and some players felt like the environment was catching up to them way too quickly - it sometimes even felt like the wild encounters were magically being stronger than your party at all times no matter how much you trained. We've adjusted our dynamic difficulty system to be a bit more relaxed and not grow so quickly - but keep in mind that our priority is still to achieve a challenging experience. We don't want an easy game and after playtesting we felt that this update strikes a good balance. However! If you were playing the earlier versions and were forced to grind a lot, then please understand that once this update is applied there is a chance that you will suddenly be overleveled compared to the immediate environment. Harmony Stat We have introduced our first hidden stat, harmony, which goes from 0% to 100%. Each victory will increase it by +1, and fainting will decrease it by -5. A maximized harmony stat can boost the EXP intake of your Nexomon by 35%. At the moment this is the only use for harmony, but this stat may be opening doors for lots of new features. Some players have already suggested having specific Cores get rejected if harmony is low. The Skill Cycle A common concern among players was that, if the environment grows stronger overtime, you may catch a Nexomon whose some best skills were "already lost" since they are learned at low levels rather than high (that's right, all skills are sort of equally viable, which means that the most damaging ones might actually be learned early). For this reason we have revamped the skill learning algorithm. Each Nexomon has its own list of 16-or-so skills that they may learn in their lifespan: one every 2-3 levels. Once they reach the "end" of said list (e.g. at around lvl 40), they will simply start learning back from the beginning of the list. This solves two issues: No more skills are "lost" because so long as you keep leveling up you will eventually repeat the cycle. This allowed us to "compress" the learning curve to one skill every 2-3 levels. Some people didn't like how sometimes it took 6-7 levels to learn a new skill. Cosmic Apparition Rates We have tweaked the Cosmic apparition rate formula. The break down is: Starts at 1/4000 early-game. 1/3500 mid-game. 1/3000 late-game. -1 for each uniquely Seen monster (so up to -381). -2 for each uniquely Owned monster (so up to -762). That means that the best odds for a Cosmic spawn would be 1/1857 if you're lategame and own every...Beta improvements so farAug 23, 2020 - Community AnnouncementsHello, beta testers! We've been closely reviewing your progress so far, and we are pleased to announce quite a few changes based on our observations. Improvements The game will now memorize the last skill slot you used during battles. You will now get bonus EXP for beating higher level opponents. Battles will yield many more coins. The shops have been visually revamped. We've tweaked the overall difficulty of Drake Isles onwards. Added sound effects to the Warpstone teleportation, and also updated its animation. The "demotivated" status effect used to last indefinitely. Now it lasts 2-4 turns. We've moved Trebly's second skill from level 8 to 7 as it took too long for new players to learn a new skill. We will also review and improve the slowness of skill-learning in general. Some storage consoles outside of Healing Centers were not obvious. We have added an icon on top of them. Bug fixes If you progress a lot in the story, certain monsters can become undiscoverable. This update ensures that they remain no matter how much you progress. The low health sound sometimes played before your HP bar actually got red. The playtime counter was being interrupted during battles, so the time logged in your profile is inaccurate. You'll have to check your Steam profile for a better estimate of your gameplay time. A small portion of Ignitia had no encounters. Gradow was completely undiscoverable. it has been added now. Secondary status ailments such as "frail" did not increase your capture chance. When replacing a skill with a new one, they didn't actually swap. Instead, the old skill was removed and then the new skill added to the top of the list. A few items were unreachable. A small section in Palmaya was walkable, despite having large rocks. If your Nexomon has "bind" or "planted" status effects, it means it cannot be swapped. However if it faints, you need to swap. Thus you would be stuck with a fainted Nexomon until the effects wore off. There is a lot more to do! And you can help us shape the future of the game with your feedback!
