It took us a while… but we’re back with a big patch with a lot of exciting stuff inside! A lot of new additions, changes, improvements, and fixes! Are you ready? Let’s start ;) First of all, we would like to thank everyone who supports the game. We read the feedback you leave us. It helped us a lot, and we appreciate it! The development of the game is ongoing, and this is just the beginning of our journey. There is much more to come! There are 5 main things that today's patch brings alongside others: New main and side missions We’ve added completely new main missions and malfunctions. We don’t want to spoil anything, just to make it more exciting for you ;) We hope you’ll like it! All-new ping system We created an entirely new ping system to improve communication between players. Active ones need to be initiated by pressing a dedicated button (“R” by default), while passive ones are always in effect. With this patch, it has changed, and instead of loot, we have Enzymes that are turned into Experience at the end of the game or can be used to activate the character trait. A new patch, that added new hiding spots, and fixed problems like e.g Flamethrower damage area, visibility of game elements while spectating, and improved some aspects of the game, has just been released. In general a lot of fixes here and there and small quality of life improvements! Other than that, we've made it possible to place quest barrels by dropping them into slots in the nest, and fixed dead sessions visible in the list of available games. Patch 0.91 is now live! In this patch we mainly focused on optimizing the game in three aspects: Game performance; Bandwith and latency; Server performance Our team worked hard to deliver those changes as fast as they can, cause we know how important it is not only for us but mostly for you. Moreover, we’ve fixed some problems that caused crashes and made changes in terms of the game itself i.e by increasing inventory size in backpack from 2 to 4, and by adding a map marker after player death. Before we start implementing your suggestions, making general changes to the game, as well as adding new content, we must get rid of the bugs. We are aware that some of them spoil the game, therefore our next step is to fix them. Today we have few very important fixes and also few announcements. First of all – let’s start with the elephant in the room. Generally, launch of Early Access was far from perfect. Some of you had crashes / lags and general problems that were making the game much less enjoyable (or not enjoyable at all). We take full ownership of that and would like to apologize to those of you who experienced those problems. Obviously, there are some problems with game-design itself, but this was more expected as with the Early access phase we always focus at upgrading gameplay quality significantly based on your feedback. Our team worked as fast as possible, to fix some of the biggest problems and will continue to do so in coming / days week. Lets start with what have changed in todays patch: Change List Fix Crashes during loading screen for Radeon GPUs Fix Crashes caused by using Paralizer on Larvas Add more debug information for rendering crashes Fix Crashes caused by delayed gameplay mechanics Fix Arm Device visibility for low frame rate Improved Session Ping visibility on Search Session list Fix Crashes caused by Voice Chat when leaving game session Add starting items for level 1 Characters Improved starting items for level 2 and 3 Characters Unstuck button now also re-enable input for character movement Improved Adult Vent slime VFX One important note here – whenever we will patch the game, you will be unable to open up a new game, until you download the update. For future patches we will make a pop-up informing about it! OK, but what are the general plans for future? First of all, we want to fix any problems you might have experienced from the technical state of the game. This is our highest priority. But then, we have also made a lot of notes from your feedback and will be making changes to general game such us: difficulty level (especially scaling while playing with different ranks), making gameplay more intuitive (ux / looks of feedback), some general balancing ( access cards taking whole bit slot…) and adding extra content. We will also add more work toward optimization, to make sure the game will have much better performance on low and high end machines. On top of that, we will want to add new content too – there is a lot of ideas on what to focus on (missions / stories / enemies behaviors / items etc.) and we would love to hear your ideas on what you would love to see more in the game! But, those things will not happen overnight. It might take quite some time, but we hope that this time will reward you with great experience and with every new patch, you will have big quality upgrade and tons of fun! We are reading through all the feedback and looking at all the bugs - we are fully aware of some problems you are experiencing and we are working on fixing them ASAP! We are really sorry that those happened, we know it is frustrating. Please accept our deep apologies for any problems you might experience. Most probably first hot-fix will come Monday - target at fixing some of most annoying crashes. After that we will be working on: - Lags - Optimization - Problems with joining games - Other bugs Those patches will be happening in no particular schedule (as soon as we will have tested fix, we will be putting it on server). We will be making small updates about them, as soon as they are added to the server. The tests will last about 6 days and only a limited number of players will be able to play the game. Will you be able to attend in tests? Although the access to the game will be limited, we would want to offer you an exclusive contest! From all of you who comment on this post, we will draw 10 people who will receive access to test the game during the special beta period. Winners will be contacted tomorrow via private message. We realize that more of you would like the opportunity to check out the game in it's current state, unfortunately, due to technical limitations, we aren’t able to provide access to all of you at this stage. Gameplay mechanics and general introduction to the game While creating Nemesis: Distress, we’ve worked really hard to create a unique multiplayer game that will be a fresh, new experience in the Sci-Fi Horror genre. From the sound effects, through the traitor theme, to the survival aspect of the game, we tried to make each of these elements stand out from the crowd, so we wanted the sounds to evoke emotion and fear, and the traitor theme to give you the option to choose to act as a team or on your own. Cause when your life is at stake, and each step may be your last one, you’re the only one you can really trust. To introduce the core aspects of the game, we've asked one of the YouTubers to create a video, explaining the key elements.
