Happy April Fools' Day!The 3rd My Time game is at the halfway point of its Kickstarter campaign!Oct 9, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHowdy Builders in Portia, We are at the half way point of the Kickstarter of the 3rd My Time game, standing at just over $1.8 million! Full disclosure, internally, we were aiming for somewhere between Sandrock’s $500k and a million. We had no predictions exceeding $1.5 million, that’s why we were so late in getting some of the stretch goals up. Heck, we never expected to fly pass our original goal in 35 minutes. And this is all thanks to you! The My Time fan base really came out in force this time. We will not forget your trust, and will do our best to make My Time at Evershine... shine. Since we never expected the current result, our planning originally revolved around deciding on some features and upgrades early on, nailing down the number of core romances, getting some extra wiggle room, and getting some exposure with publishers and the media. But after the initial success of this KS, we crunched some numbers and saw that something else became possible: If we can get to $2.5 million, then we’ll have the luxury of not doing Early Access this time (or at least not until we’re very close to final release). Early Access is a double edged sword, while we’re able to get funding and feedback from players well before the end product, it significantly affects our development schedule in a negative way. Each big update we put out will cost us up to a month of packaging, QA, and optimization time, forcing some development to literally stop for a few weeks as key developers work on the release build. If we don’t do Early Access, we will have 4-5 months of extra development time, allowing for a smoother and more traditional development schedule (which we will share later this year). We’ll still get our essential feedback from the numerous KS beta players. It means less crunch for the team and a more polished product for the players. That’s a win for everybody. That’s our logic. We want to reach it because it will be tremendously beneficial for the project, so please help us. First, we need your help in spreading the word far and wide. The KS will probably be the only way to play Evershine before final release (if we reach the goal), so for anyone still holding out, please reconsider. Second, we will be releasing the next set of stretch goal options within this week, we'll let you vote again, it's got what you're asking for. And finally, we will open up more tiers for console players. The sequel looks to be one of Pathea’s most ambitious projects yet, and once again, it’s requesting the support of its fans via Kickstarter to help it reach and exceed the expectations of both the developer and upcoming players. When it comes to funding its projects, Pathea Games shared that it has a seven to eight million dollar budget for the game (with My Time at Sandrock previously having a $12 million dollar budget altogether, including Kickstarter pledges); the Kickstarter project allows the developer to accrue additional funds from fans who wish to support the game, allowing it to add more and more features to the game. In a post on Reddit, Pathea Games wrote: “Through developing My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock, we've learned a lot and identified areas for improvement. As we're creating the third game, we're using all that experience to enhance not just the content but the overall quality of the game. Failure to comply with My Time rules will result in a severe electric shock, the injection of a mild neurotoxin, followed by the deletion of all profile data. How Does it Work? Step one: Choose a gift for a fellow My Time player. Step two: Take a photo of the gift on the My Time Smartwatch App. Step three: Verify the photo with the My Time Cloud by inputing codes on your 2FA and 3FA accounts (Phone number and My Time Plus, the new streaming service where you can only watch people playing My Time at Portia on their phones with no sound.) Step four: Verify the photo within ten seconds. (This mechanism is in place to ensure that people actually go out and interact with each other in real life. We feel like in an era that is becoming increasingly distant, the intended face-to-face interactions that make up My Time's core gameplay must not be circumvented.) Step four point five: (But honestly we would be totally down to just swallow our principles if you buy a "Verification Time Extension Card" for 1 USD x 1% of the gift value. Fantastic news to share! Sandrock Multiplayer will be out soon, and with new ENHANCED VR FEATURES! Check this video to see how it works, and read on to learn more! What's New? When multiplayer goes live, players can now expect to enjoy certain in-game social interactions (two to be exact) in ANOTHER DIMENSION! The "My Time at Virtual Reality Dimension™!" For 99% of gameplay, players will simply enjoy the game via PC, unchanged from the normal multiplayer mode. But once you click the option to hug or kiss an NPC or other player, it's time to SUIT UP and enter ANOTHER DIMENSION! First, look directly at the Pathea VR Headset to get your Face ID scanned, then place four of your fingers on each hand on the fingerprint reader. Give a little blood sample, and then finally, say the activation code, "I love Pathea!" while reaching your hands to the sky! This will activate your Pathea VR Headset for use, and you can safely put it on. Then SUIT UP in the Pathea VR Bodysuit, which is designed for maximum comfort by these cool mall guys; I'll tell you about them later. Once you're fully SUITED UP, the game will resume, and you will FEEL the warm embrace of your friends or in-game romanceable candidate as your body suit and goggles both heat up to a maximum of 180 degrees celsius! As soon as the hug or kiss is over, you must remove the Pathea VR Bodysuit and Pathea VR Headset in order to continue playing the game with a keyboard and mouse again. Note: Players only have 45 seconds upon clicking "hug" or "kiss" to activate their Pathea VR Bodysuit and Pathea VR Headset. Failing to activate the Bodysuit and Headset will result in the deletion of all files on the local hard drive.
