Guilds 1.0 - Patch #001Mar 12, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome, Marauders! This is primarily a small patch to attempt to fix the “Black Screen” issue that is occuring for some players when joining a match. We thank the community again for their patience and help with this issue and encourage anyone to reach out via our Discord if they are still experiencing it, this will be our main focus until our next large update “Retribution”. Known Issue:- The SAS Major cosmetic is in the appearance menu UI, but you are currently unable to unlock it as this enemy is not included in this patch. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/e5bb9dcdf57e080f749b117ca2b8536dcdecd5ec.png Iron sights for the Grease gun have been improved {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/fcec9ce74f0ed654686de9190f2dc29b1a8a05e6.png Joining late raids/instant join has been disabled, matchmaking now tries to start a lobby at the same time. We hope you are enjoying the new guilds feature and planet killer base. Firstly, we wanted to take the opportunity to assure our community that we are still investigating the black screen bug but is difficult to reproduce it from our side so please keep sending us clips and an as detailed as possible description in case you run into it, that being said we are deep into the next big update in terms of production, which is named “Retribution” and is roughly scheduled for March/April. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/300fb20938362c95e0105cc09f3407fc8743606f.jpg We are aware parts of the community were happy with the 2 week update cadence however this became extremely difficult to maintain (and unfortunately wasn’t as effective as we hoped) but mainly didn’t allow us to make larger content changes and additions which the next update will certainly be! After this next update we will evaluate what sort of schedule we want to deliver but most importantly a updated roadmap since we made great headway already on the current one. As a side note we loved how the community came together and thoroughly tested the Guild P.T.E. branch with us, this was extremely effective and something we definitely want to do again in the future. Now let’s get into what’s coming to Marauders…. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/70643232a2bdf5ed3b36c04d54e2233fa193ea9c.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/da25c4a5c9a6f1b7176442545687c737e6eb4b3d.jpg Rebel Base This update will contain multiple map additions including the previously teased new U.A. boss location “Fortress”, a giant breachable space turret, however, “Rebel base” as shown above is our largest new dock location to date. This asteroid colony was once a hot destination for trade, now raiders and wannabe pirates live there, protecting a bank full of their ill-gotten loot. We wanted to provide a fresh and unique "street to street" engagement style play-space for Marauders, “Rebel base” is designed like a small town with all the trimmings you’d expect to see. This will also be the next location for raider mode, effectively replacing the terraformer map in the rotation. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/be0519d7c856a58cfa0e3468e4638ee9aac89ddc.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/6491f6a9df1f6526156d52d9e854b9a6cd98194c.jpg S.A.S Elite Navy outpost will be receiving it’s very own boss, the S.A.S Major, somewhat similar to how the penal colony warden boss functions, there will be a secret task to complete that will enable the engagement but we won’t spoil how it plays out of course…. All we can say is look forward to a tough fight, hot cosmetics to unlock and a new series of weapons to loot. The S.A.S Major will be utilizing the Sterling MK4 including some interesting variants. It will be the “hardest” hitting 9mm weapon however the smallest variant “MK4 Mini” will be a pistol slot gun rivalling the Klobb in terms of size versus power The Merchant ship might be receiving a long awaited security boss too…. So watch this s...Guilds 1.0 Hotfix #01Dec 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGood Day Marauders! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/63487b6ab2bd1a8f5591f4b56de061a9d756ee62.jpg We have a small patch/hotfix to deal with new issues that came from our recent major update "GUILDS 1.0". It's been great seeing everyone jump in and take full advantage of the new features we added and the feedback has been invaluable that being said we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break! Here are the patch notes in full: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/785676a1e75448cd9973b060ab4e912de99654cf.png Attempted fix for the fade in during the start of match not ending resulting in a black screen fixed an issue that was preventing the colony cruiser from spawning Addressed a problem that would have members of a crew lose their equipped ship when going in with someone else as a captain Mac-10's recoil was hard set lower than other SMGs causing it to be extremely low with attachments this is now more in-line with other SMGs (with and without attachments). The commando major now has the correct german voice lines Addressed an issue that would provide high stamina regain with blowtorches and fire extinguishers {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/fcec9ce74f0ed654686de9190f2dc29b1a8a05e6.png Planet killer raider mode now has a better distribution of player spawn points Commando Major now always spawns inside the capital ship All high rate of fire weaponry (700 or above) now have larger hip firing spread over time/per shot, this has affected the PPSH, Mac-10, Klobb and Krasa. (We always want to resist from making weapons weaker and make them more rare instead but we felt this was a good middle ground since these weapons keep their effectiveness whilst ADS) Up to 4 Raider bosses can now spawn on NPC ships, the scout and interceptor. (these are now classed as raider ships) NPC Ships (raiders) now target pods approaching (you have been warned!) and the raiders inside can remain healed during bombardments requiring breaching to kill the crew Higher tier weapons have been reduced in the common loot pool 2 new additional raider bosses added, the china lake and trenchgun variants. (only on raider ships) Guilds 1.0 Update Released!Dec 14, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsThe day is finally here Marauders! Thanks for hanging in there with us whilst we deal with some major restructuring. This required us to re-organise how we deliver updates in the future… but the good news is Guilds 1.0 is finally here! The first of many updates to establish a new social system built around competing player created pirate factions! aka guilds. If you are not aware we refined this feature with the help of the players using our new P.T.E. branch and via our Discord feedback and bug report channel. Make sure to look out for announcements regarding more P.T.Es in the future. That being said, let's crack straight into the patch notes! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/c33aa2b8eea1750b8abb79796abb86470065e35b.jpg WARNING! This update requires a full progress wipe Side note:- The colonist head cosmetic, body cosmetic and the Pilot voice pack (previously twitch drops) will be available to claim through the gift tab for the first two weeks only, so make sure to grab it while you can! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png GUILDS We consider this a first pass on this game changing feature. You can create a guild if you have the requirements: be level 10 and have 100k credits. Players can join guilds for free at any level. Guild Captains (the creator) can provide a name, and select which guild patch design they want. Patches are visible in the main menu on banners and on the player themselves on certain parts of cosmetics and gear for all guild members. You will also have access to a guild chat, guild trader and of course, the hideout (of which some of these features are tied to progression when extracting with an enemy guild’s patch). You will have a “Freebooter” status if you are not from a guild or have mixed guild members within your crew. This means you will not bring in a lootable guild patch and any enemy guild patches extracted will be void. Each patch is worth 1 point for your guild. Raider mode currently assigns the “Freebooter” status. Put simply, if you want to build XP towards progressing your guild, make sure you are in a guild and that all members of your current crew are in the same guild when going into a match! GUILD HIDEOUT You and your guild members will have unlimited access to your private base: “The Guild Hideout”. This is tied to the progression of your guild and more areas will unlock as you progress to a higher level. Through the guild tab in the main menu, you can choose which region you wish to launch or join. Once inside you can use the firing range, drink from the bar or most importantly; practice with your teammates in the killhouse! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/1136d4ce6d8c0cbaee7cda1f9a4968bdae364a82.jpg Planet Killer Base A brand new raid location has been added! This nuclear weapons facility can not only build warheads but it can also launch them from orbit, turning any planet to glass. However, they are extremely vulnerable to pirate attacks including this one. You will discover ...Guilds Update Announcement / P.T.E 2.0 ActivityDec 10, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGood day Marauders! We have great news, the GUILDS update will be launching this coming Thursday! (14/12/2023) This is due to the recent P.T.E only revealing a few issues that we are already in the process of fixing. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/ec874d5b088ff2b74dc1a7d8c9d9f46d1e9f2cbd.png We can't thank all the players enough for their reports including the moderators and vanguards who joined in to help process it. It has resulted in a much smoother update and we can't wait for everyone to play! (really cool to see hundreds of guilds already!). This does mean we will be taking the Guilds P.T.E. 2.0 down over the next hour but you won't have long until you can build your guild, officially!. We will take this opportunity to highlight whats coming in the GUILDS update (full patch notes will be on the day of launch) Guild Creation (up to 50 players) Guild Hideout (Level up your private base by collecting enemy guild patches for you and your members) Planet Killer Base (new standard and raider mode nuclear weapons facility location) Full Wipe (all progress is reset, this is necessary for all the new features) U.I. Overhaul (Create crews and join guilds through our new overlay system) Grease gun and Heavy liberator Shop Refactor (All traders are always available, no longer on rotation with new shop items.) Shotgun Re-balance (a far more dangerous weapon type) XP Overhaul (exponential levelling with more ways to gain XP) We hope to see you in this coming update and we look forward to delivering more content in the immediate future. GUILDS P.T.E. 2.0 (Public test) Launched!Dec 8, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHello again Marauders! We found that first P.T.E incredibly useful and are extremely happy as a development team with the results. We see a bright future as we continue to do more PTEs in the future. We really appreciate everyone trying out GUILDS P.T.E 1.0 as it exposed important issues that needed fixing. We have spent this last week refining the upcoming update, addressing the reported issues and adding some quality of life. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/944c21e2569fb57858960a5f0ae7b0c146e24013.jpg We think it's important to run a second public test (for a few days depending on it's success) to see how these recent changes have worked, check the remaining bugs and confirm any stability fixes. You will probably still encounter bugs and have suggestions, which you can let us know about in our Official Discord, under the pte-guilds channels. If you wish to join in make sure to right click on "Marauders" in your steam library and pick the P.T.E in the "betas" tab that will begin downloading this version. (anyone is eligible). There’s a lot to cover so let's get into the patch notes of GUILDS P.T.E. 2.0 (Changes since P.T.E. 1.0) : {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png XP Revisited Issues became clear during that first Public Test Environment that the XP requirements per level were definitely not as intended and were in fact “broken”. This resulted in very small differences between the early levels and flatter amounts later on, when they were supposed to be exponential. This has now been addressed. However, to prevent it feeling like we have just increased the amount of XP needed we wanted to make sure the player has several methods to gain XP to compensate. For example: You can now gain XP from completing trades (with certain ones having high XP amounts). Done a huge rebalancing for certain NPC kills (Like the Warden giving over 1000 XP) and larger gains from completing missions in the Zero to Hero campaign. We hope this results in a more consistent experience with opportunities for exciting revelations! (Please note; we will be revising faction XP requirements in the near future so it has the same potential) A.I. Adjustments NPCs have been a topic of discussion since the very beginning! We wanted to implement some changes that prevented them from being so aggressive and highly sensitive (sight and sound) which would allow them to have a wider range of behavior. This may result in them seeming “unaware” but it allows for them to patrol, camp and even loot! Rather than them constantly charging targets, this will still happen but at least not all instances. Internally this has led to interesting new playstyles like sneaking up behind them and even following NPCs to nearby loot stashes. We will continue to monitor the situation as we know they can just seem clueless at times but we are excited for what this change brings! Return of Region Select We re-enabled the ability to choose your region for Standard and Raider m...GUILDS P.T.E 1.0 StatusDec 2, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGood day Marauders! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/ec874d5b088ff2b74dc1a7d8c9d9f46d1e9f2cbd.png We are extremely thankful for the amount of players jumping into the public test already and the feedback so far has been invaluable, however we will have to end this test sooner than expected so we focus on the issues that have already become apparent. The current P.T.E will be disabled tomorrow (Sunday 3rd December) around 13:00 G.M.T. with a plan of having Guilds P.T.E. 2.0 up in the coming days. Thanks again for everyone's patience and we will make sure to inform you of any P.T.E activity. S.I.G.P.T.E GUILDS Update 1.0Dec 1, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome Marauders, to our first public test! or “P.T.E” (Playable Test Environment) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/ade06c489042adf5967d1b175ceae47b36c95a55.png Everyone who owns Marauders can play this early test build now. Access it by right-clicking Marauders in your Steam Library, clicking properties then the going to the Betas tab. In this menu use the drop down list to choose “marauders_pte” to begin downloading the build. You may have to restart Steam for it to appear in the list. This first P.T.E will be running until Tuesday night (UTC) however this may change depending on how certain mechanics function. For example we may need to disable it early to fix issues or leave it running longer to test efficiently. Whatever happens we will make sure to let the community know of this activity. The main goal of this P.T.E. is to test the stability of the new UI/Friends Overhaul and the Guilds mechanics. So please take a look around and thoroughly explore these features. Please relay any feedback or bugs found to our Discord channels with the PTE tag (bugs and feedback are separate channels). IMPORTANT NOTE:- Raid locations Planet Killer Base and Colony Cruiser are not in this P.T.E. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png Guilds First pass on the main feature of this upcoming update. You will be able to create a guild (by being level 10 and having 100k credits) and have others join for free at any level. Guild captains (the creator) can provide a name, and select with guild patch design they wish, this will be visible on certain parts of cosmetics and gear for all guild members. You will also have access to a guild chat, guild hideout, guild trader and of course, the hideout (of which some of these features are tied to progression when extracting with an enemy guild’s patch). You will have “Freebooter” status if you are not from a guild or have mixed guild members within your crew. This means you will not bring in a lootable guild patch and any enemy guild patches extracted will be void. Each patch is worth 1 point for your guild. Raider mode currently assigns the “Freebooter” status. Trader Refactor Faction traders are no longer on rotation and are always available however the C.E., U.A. and K.A. traders require your faction XP to be level 1 to access. The Pirate faction is unlocked from the start and has a 40% reduction in cost. The guild trader is unlocked when joining a guild. Available items in these shops have been re-shuffled with certain items removed, this is not final but each faction trader will have their inventory belonging to a theme, such as Captain Wolff (C.E.) being high damage and armor, Major Rosie (U.A.) being medical and military supplies and Overlord (K.A.) being special weapons. Main Menu UI Overhaul We have reworked a good chunk of the main menu UI to incorporate the new mechanics that are coming with the full Guilds Update. Some of the notable larger changes include: Reorganising things to hel...Upcoming Guilds PTE 1.0Nov 30, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGood Day Marauders! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/fc3429ed5d72cae088943f948f1a04ed393d92ad.png We will be looking to launch the PTE before the end of Tomorrow! (Friday the 1st December 2023). Here is a tease into some features that will be included in this public test; Create a Guild (for the low cost of being level 10 and 100k credits) Players can join guilds at any level and for free (up to 50 players) Guild hideout (enter your private base at any time with your fellow guild members) Guild Progression (level up the guild trader “Calico” and the guide hideout) Shotgun BUFF (all shotguns have 12 pellets which do 16 damage, they just vary in spread) 5 Minute Gate timer UI Overhaul and friends system Bandage and First Aids heal more, Large first aid heals an additional health burn amount Attachments that can be removed and added to weaponry in raid Loot balance overhaul (lots more lootables including attachments that can be found “loose” in raid) Faction Trader Refactor (no longer relies on rotation, certain factions will be unlocked at level 1. The pirate faction provides 40% discount as default) Raider Mode V 2.0 (Now includes NPCs on bigger maps) Further details will be posted when the PTE drops tomorrow including how to access it and what are the specific goals of the test. See you soon Marauders Development Update | GuildsNov 15, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsGood day Marauders We apologize for the lack of communication recently, however, we are undergoing a restructure which affects development, community support and how we deliver updates. Unfortunately we still do not have a set date for the ‘Guilds’ patch however we would like to take this opportunity to announce that we will soon be launching our first public testing branch (PTE). This allows us to get the update into your hands sooner and help with the current restructuring process, we have high hopes it will become the norm for future large updates and provide a smoother feedback process (hopefully avoid any drastically disliked balance changes in the main branch) The PTE will become a separate available title in your steam library and provide players a new separate account to experiment with. This confirms there will be a wipe for “guilds” in order to make sure this new functionality works for when the update officially deploys (after PTE completion) , so feel free to use this early notification to start blitzing through your stash! Guilds We would like to take this opportunity to also tease more content coming to the “guilds” update. https://i.imgur.com/CA366Tn.jpg Attachments Galore We will be adding another batch of attachments for weapons such as the klobb, M45k, Mat49 and Johnson this will bring our attachment item count to 60! https://i.imgur.com/dJpVojB.jpg Guild Rep Certain armour and helmets will be displaying your future guild patch designs, even certain cosmetics display these badges on your shoulder. You can choose the guild icon, its primary and secondary colour resulting in thousands of possibilities. https://i.imgur.com/jkSfzkd.jpg Raider V2 Raider mode will now include NPCs, have an increase in player count and feature the new map, planet killer, in its rotation. (And of course more loot!) https://i.imgur.com/MgUNCf1.jpg Heavy liberator It will definitely become a meme but hopefully with the overall shotgun rebalance it could become your new favourite…. https://i.imgur.com/yVkMFcO.jpg We hope to talk more closer to the launch of the update however keep your eyes peeled for the PTE announcement since it will be a great opportunity to experience the new content earlier We thank everyone for your patience and we find ourselves extremely blessed with this incredible community! See you space, pirates SIG Dev Blog #008 | ResearchSep 20, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome to another dev blog, this one is a little unique, focusing on research trips our team have completed in recent weeks that have proven more than fruitful. There are some secrets too for upcoming content… so make sure to look for clues! Before we get started on the gathered research, we have two announcements. Marauders Champion Tournament Our Marauders Champion tournament will start in the next few hours. As stated in previous blogs, this player-kill competition is a limited-time event that will normally last for a week. These competitions will usually happen once a month but may occur twice a month. This one will run a little longer - around 2 weeks - and have additional prizes alongside the exclusive nomad blood mask, so make sure to get in the top 100 to earn it. https://i.imgur.com/Etz4roE.png Merch Store Updates The second announcement is that our merch store has been updated with two new items! We are extremely proud of our new Champion Space Nebula (tie-dye) ultra premium hoodie. The quality is unparalleled and will work wonders for the upcoming winter season. Our second item is an additional “F1” design, as requested the detail is on the front and displayed on another high-quality Champion product. We hope one of these newly created clothing pieces tickles your fancy. Hoodie: https://marauders-shop.fourthwall.com/products/marauders-ultra-premium-hoodie Long sleeve t-shirt: https://marauders-shop.fourthwall.com/products/marauders-premium-f1-long-sleeve-shirt Research Now onto the field research. Our team has been exploring the U.K. in search of inspiration and references that can be used for Marauders. Since real-world engineering cannot be beaten for its badass aesthetic and brutal style, our research helps us design new environments, vehicles, and characters. It's no secret our spaceships look like armored tanks with booster engines, but this is mostly intentional! First up is our trip to the “D-Day Story” in Portsmouth, England. This has a strong history for the World War 2 Allies, as a large number of forces set sail from this location during Operation Overlord to begin taking back France. This Museum is filled with elements to commemorate that day. They have a fascinating range of equipment, everything from amphibious vehicles to secret documents, but it was great seeing such large landing craft up close, so we can appreciate the detail and effort that went into building them. https://i.imgur.com/iCuw0BV.png It was also a pleasant surprise to see the Denison jacket and paratrooper helmet worn by the British forces. As some of you will notice, we took inspiration from these elements for our very own S.A.S operatives. https://i.imgur.com/91eG888.png https://i.imgur.com/IcENMjD.png Another recognisable item we found is the sea mine (which we retrofitted into a space-variant for Marauders). We noticed some interesting details that could definitely be applied to our version, such as strong central welding. The personnel landing craf...Marauders Update | Plunder 1.3 - ExplosivesSep 14, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome, Marauders. This is our final Plunder patch, as we head towards the next phase for Marauders: Guilds. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/6714a80f61878854babf185fd8f57e06d12f553a.png The next build will require three to four weeks of development, however, that doesn’t make this iteration any less special! We now have over 70 different weapons in the game, a great milestone! The addition of three new grenade types; fire, stick and impact bombs – has helped us achieve this. We will continue to produce and incorporate more weapons for the foreseeable future! Another important addition is the recipe blueprint, helping players gain more access to Heavy MG42s and Thompsons by providing temporary crafting capabilities – this is a rare item that will make your heart pound! Let’s get into the patch notes: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png Fire Bomb A napalm filled grenade with a very short fuse (1 second). This device creates a devastating pool of fire that inflicts 6 damage per tick, if you’re unlucky enough to be caught in its wrath. The flames blaze for ~20 seconds, but you can thwart them sooner with a fire extinguisher. This weapon is suitable for temporarily impeding enemy advances and blocking flanking routes. No one likes to be blind sided. These grenades can be found in the grenade boxes, as well as part of the pistol loot pool. Impact Bomb This explosive will ignite as soon as it hits a surface (Marauders included) – dealing a hefty 90 damage with direct impact. However, has a fairly small radius and large fall off, giving it tighter concentrated power. Best to be accurate with your throws and become the victor. Sticky Bomb A powerful counter to the heavy shields. This grenade has a strong adhesive; making it stick to most objects, even a Marauder. It deals around 85 damage, with a faster fuse of ~1 second – but boasts a larger radius than the other grenade types, making it useful to flush enemies around the corner. Recipe Blueprints A new, very rare item type has been added to depots and hidden stashes. Once this item is in your stash, it temporarily unlocks a crafting recipe. Every craft reduces the item’s durability until it reaches zero. It will then be destroyed and removed from the crafting list automatically. This can provide the holy grail of crafting options such as the Heavy MG-42, Barrel Bag and Dart Ammo, so make sure to keep an eye out for those depot tokens! Ship Interior Expansions As we attempt to improve breaching balance; making it more dynamic and enjoyable – all ships have had their break point increased from 4 to 7 (excluding the Red Baron Strike Frigate). This includes re-works of the ship interior maps with the Rustbucket and Scout frigate variants; granting them a much larger and vast play space. You will be able to flank from most breach point positions, and the cockpit can now enjoy multiple exits. Welcome to our Seventh Dev Blog! Our new development schedule has allowed us to launch our 3rd patch (Plunder 1.2) in the last 6 weeks, and we are seeing amazing results! But full transparency, the Guilds 1.0 update is larger and we anticipate we will need extra time, so after Plunder 1.3 expect a 3 to 4 week gap (rather than 2 weeks). Our goal is to drop Guilds in October! In terms of the previous patch we have received positive feedback on the hit registration change and internally we are finding a massive improvement, so we hope you agree. We also feel our change to hip firing spread was too much/over-tuned so look forward to more tweaking in the next patch. I’d like to thank all the kind fans who came up to us to chat about Marauders, always great to meet the players in the “real world”. One of the other benefits of Gamescom was getting to try a wide range of upcoming games including some new extractions shooters, which is always inspiring. I personally feel this genre is special, and the more games out there, the merrier! - Mac {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/eb6a74652a497a9f2404612f2be2ca91ce18409b.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/0e206465f377f306ad357fe21ffd7f5542e8011b.jpg Meeting the “grandfather” of extraction shooters Nikita and playing his latest outing Arena was a great highlight, I feel its not said enough but me and the team are Escape from Tarkov players, and we wear our inspiration with honour. It was interesting to see their team trying to innovate again inside a genre that's the most competitive market in the world, and I must say it's already feeling great. You’ll be proud… we did well in the 2v2 bracket tournament and got to wear our hard earned “scav” cosplay! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/144edf365783b418d75775600ad7f11dc06d7562.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/f5dd552045a88115c347db42a9719055951e8cf3.jpg Elites In-bound Today we will be highlighting the upcoming “Elites” currently in production. Much like the Warden or the Red Baron, “Elites” are bosses that will provide a harder challenge, unique item drops and have unlockable killer cosmetics! First one up is the U.A. Marines Commander, as teased in a previous dev blog! This squad leader takes the fashion of a tank captain managing a massive space turret. This will be the first boss that protects a breach only location with his fellow crew mates. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/81d04d546329fdbca20b610168ceee422fea77d5.jpg The Commander has a unique head and body cosmetic to unlock and wields the versatile Mini-14. This new rifle is a semi automatic 5.56, lightweight but punchy death machine. His crew wields the M3A1 “grease gun”, an infamous weapon chambered in .45 ACP. First of all, we would like to thank all of you that we got to meet at Gamescom! It was a blast chatting with you all as we wandered the convention floor. We’ve got more coming on our experience at Gamescom in our Dev Blog next week, so keep an eye out for that. We even got to meet the godfather of the Extraction genre, Nikita himself! We are back in action with another update for Plunder! We’ve got new weapons, new Raid missions and more to talk about, so let’s look at the highlights. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/e961d7875447f78070535dc6814436e5e2da3352.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png Long Double Barrel Shotgun We’ve added a Long Double Barrel shotgun with excellent stopping power, but be careful of what engagement you get into with only 2 rounds loaded… Custom Mat 49 The Marauders have fabricated their own variant of the Mat 49, built specifically for tight spots, with a snub nose barrel, burst-fire firing mode and rechambered in the .45 ammo type! In-raid missions Changes With this update we have made in-raid missions more forgiving. Before, if you died you wouldn't get any rewards for in-raid missions you had completed. Now any missions you complete, you will get the money and Faction XP reward even if you die before extraction. Hit Reg Fixes We have been delving deeper into the hit reg issues and made more adjustments that we hope will improve conditions once again. This includes re-implementation of “temporal” client to server side hits with a simpler but faster NPC leeway system. We have also added additional safety checks if a headshot was processed correctly. Patch notes in full {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/7efc3fc244088ca08373981acc183935749b25cc.png Raid missions; Confirm Kill (Navy Outpost), Death's Door (Colony Cruiser) , Film Review (Merchant Ship), Lost and Found (Navy Outpost) , Traitor Call (Merchant Ship) and Food Run (Merchant Ship). New Scrappable items: Diesel Drill, Work Apron, Silver Tankard, Gold Candelabra, Copper Horn and Portable Radio (spawns in common loot pool). New weapon: Long Double Barrel (replaces the trench gun for S.A.S operatives) New weapon: Custom Mat 49 (replaces the craftable mat49) which is a .45 ammo type burst weapon. Colony Cruiser now has a chance to spawn trench gun U.A. marines. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/e5bb9dcdf57e080f749b117ca2b8536dcdecd5ec.png Sawed off shotgun model has been improved. Jumping animations have been exaggerated on all weapons. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/fcec9ce74f0ed654686de9190f2dc29b1a8a05e6.png If you die while in-raid you now still get the Cash and Faction XP rewards for the missions you have completed. Previously, you had to escape to get this reward. All weapons now have hip firing spread increasing over time/per shot again, however the initial spread has been reduced by around 20% for all weapons. Jumping makes the weapon spread multiply by over 100%. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/58d6a630b49eb6855655dba38bba...Marauders Update - Plunder 1.1Aug 17, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome, Marauders And welcome to all the new Space Pirates out there that joined us recently. What a weekend! Roughly 50,000 of you claimed a Drop on Twitch, with over 180 of you streaming Marauders throughout the campaign! And now it’s time to get stuck into the Patch Notes for Plunder 1.1, hot on the heels of our last update! Oh and before I forget, remember to log in after the update to get in on the action of the Marauder Champion Tournament! It’s time to earn that Blood Nomad mask again! There is a bunch of new stuff to get through, so on to the Patch Notes! Known issues: We are tracking an issue with EXISTING Meds from players stashes showing incorrect stack values. This issue seems to be resolving over time but we are watching closely! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png TIMER REDUCTIONS We have been monitoring time spent in raids and the average time taken to extract. So we wanted to rebalance timers to get to a happier median. This includes reducing the time before the space gate appears, increasing the match length in Raider mode and decreasing the Raider mode cooldown. Breach or Bust We’ve also tweaked how breaching damage works so there's a much smaller penalty to breaching a ship that is completely stationary. This way our new mechanics, like the different pods types can still be valid, and we can reduce some frustrations with these features. Once again, we will continue to monitor the statistics and make improvements in the future if need be! De Lisle Improvements New attachment - extended mag New Animations New sounds Stacking Meds Medical items can now be stacked! Here are the first items to receive this treatment: Bandage Small First Aid kit Large Water bottle Scrappable Items We’ve added more items into the game, largely to take out with the purpose of scrapping for crafting purposes! These items are going to net you TONS of new resources! We also added some interesting new craft recipes! You can now CRAFT a toolkit if you have all the bits! Hit Reg Fixes We found and fixed a couple of hit registration issues where the server and client were not lining up correctly, especially with certain animations like leaning and shooting. This is a step forward and we will continue to investigate it, however you should see some improvements with hits being more consistent server side, especially headshots. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/7efc3fc244088ca08373981acc183935749b25cc.png Certain medical and food items can now stack, bandage, small first aid and large water bottle Pirate Bandage and Pirate First Aid are now craftable instead of standard bandage and Small First Aid Kit. These are around 10% to 25% stronger for healing and have higher stacking amounts. Scrappable items have been added to the common, industrial and toolkit loot pools, these items give a bigger range of scrapping items; Wrench, Hammer, Flat Head, Work Belt, Table Fan, Bottle Caps, Work Gloves and Diesel Engine. A Nuclear material Mark...Marauders first FREE weekend is live! Twitch Drops ActivatedAug 10, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsMarauders old and new, It is time to deploy. Today we have a small fix to address some issues that have popped up since the update, here are the Hotfix notes in full: NOTE - Please close your game and ensure you have downloaded the Hotfix patch! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/7efc3fc244088ca08373981acc183935749b25cc.png 2 Locked/Vault containers added to the Merchant Ship, shown in red paint. This has been added for Raider and Normal Mode. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/fcec9ce74f0ed654686de9190f2dc29b1a8a05e6.png Around 3% less chance of the Merchant Ship armory token spawning (to compensate for additional vault locations). The Bren has had its ADS speed increased by 15% (faster, now in-between the old and new values). The BAR and STG44 have had their ADS speed reduced by 10% (to bring it closer to the Bren, a heavy weapon ADS speed). {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/f03691609892b8a7c8174707bf5888c211db8869.png Increased far sprint sound occlusion by 10%. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/e0492855a39f55e72e95f96558e4a1922d5f686b.png Polish translations updated. Fix added for Raider Mode - When entering a match with a ship equipped, that ship would be invisible in your hangar menu on return to the menu. Entering another raid would overwrite the ship. This has been fixed! Fix for the M16 suppressor from the vault lootables equipping to the magazine slot causing reload issues. Fixed an issue where you couldn’t bring up the right-click menu when using the Freebooter backpack and a rig at the same time. And that's it for the Hotfix Notes. See you soon for the next Dev Blog! Dash or Die, Marauder! - The SIG Team Marauders Update - PlunderAug 3, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsWelcome, Marauders First and foremost for today's update, it’s time for the Wipe! Everyone, please close your game, and ensure you have received the update via Steam! We’ve nicknamed this patch of the Excavation update 'Plunder' for a couple of reasons. Get ready for our newest game mode, where you get to masquerade as a Raider inside one of our POIs. Your sole goal is to get to the Escape pods before time runs out, it will be your choice what to do with other Raiders you meet along the way… Raider Mode will see you thrown into one of our POIs, starting with Mining Frigate and the Merchant Cargo ship, as one of (up to) 6 other Raiders. You will be given a random loadout to help you survive, and you will be able to find a lot more green uncommon containers around the map than you would normally find. Once you reach the Escape Pods, you will be returned to your stash with the loot you found! We are looking forward to seeing the community's feedback on this new mode, so that we can build upon it going forward. Another addition to the Plunder update is the ‘Bandit’, a Marauder’s universe equivalent to a “Loot Goblin”. Hunting this slippery NPC should feel quite different to your normal NPC engagements, and we know you are going to enjoy the loot! One thing for everyone to note on this update is that we have INTENTIONALLY reset everyone's settings. This will include audio, video, controls, & keybindings. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it was necessary. There is a bunch of new stuff to get into below, so on to the Patch Notes! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/d8367d872e1aa732d88b38618e1f4dab69f4431c.png WIPE We would like to reiterate that wipes are currently necessary during Early Access due to us still building/changing the core features of the game. It is not something we take lightly. That being said, the goal is to change how it works when we hit 1.0. What that looks like will be addressed before that day comes. All player data has now been reset, along with your audio, video, controls, and keybindings. All that should remain is your DLC unlocked cosmetics (Space Pirate, Steel Series, U.A. Ranger). We really do appreciate your patience and we hope this update will be even more fruitful than the last! Raider Mode Welcome to our first new mode, accessed through the cog next to the ‘Launch button’. We see this feature providing a unique experience, where around 6 solo Marauders (masquerading as raiders) are provided with a free loadout and the chance to find deadlier gear. With only 10 minutes of oxygen, you must decide to dash for the escape pods or die trying. This mode takes place in either the Mining Frigate or Merchant Ship, doesn't have raid missions or NPCs, but provides players with the ability to earn XP through Marauder kills. There is currently an 18 minute cooldown in place between Raider excursions, which starts ticking down at the beginning of your initial raid . This mode is not in its final form, and we look forward to your feedba...Plunder Update Deploys August 3 | New RoadmapAug 1, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsMarauders, The next update is imminent. Plunder will deploy this Thursday, August 3! Updated Early Access Roadmap Let’s have a look at what you can expect throughout the rest of the year before we delve into Plunder’s component parts. This roadmap is by no means exhaustive, we will continue to explain what each update comprises – in detail – with future dev logs. https://i.imgur.com/J3Wptqp.png First off, the wipe. As we’ve reiterated in past dev logs – we must enforce wipes for technical reasons, and will continue to do so throughout Early Access. We will be changing how wipes work once we’ve launched! Please read more on wipes here: Raider (Solos) Mode https://i.imgur.com/IYbR87X.jpg To aid and onboard solo players who don’t have any loot – Raider Mode offers an alternative, faster paced match! We’re determined to give solo players the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the mechanics and weaponry of Marauders. We’ll be monitoring feedback, and will adjust this mode accordingly. Raider Mode sees you and up to five other solos masquerade as low life raiders. You’re assigned a random loadout and starting position inside a raid location, with the directive of making it to the escape pods. How it works: Raider Mode automatically puts players together in solos and doesn't have any crew functionality You can only use this mode if you have nothing equipped (You will be extracting with gear) Players spawn as “Raiders” within a raid location using player starts (no in ships, just within the POIs) These Spawns are well-placed, random and are assigned to each player. There are little to no A.I. in the Match (depending on feedback, at the moment there are zero), instead there are 5 to 6 Players. No Backfill, (everyone starts around the same time, this is obviously dependent on hardware, however the maps are light and shouldn't be an issue.) Players are given a preset loadout (much like the A.I. raiders do) and sometimes can even get lucky with a blowtorch, but all loadouts are supposed to be low tier with semi automatics taking front and centre. Raider mode features *a lot* more green uncommon containers than the other mode as a chance to earn an advantage (akin to battle royales) but also loot that can be extracted as a “free loot” dynamic. However, because players can't bring in loadouts the chance to get into the vault is near zero as balance (unless you are the one lucky soul to spawn with the blowtorch loadout) Using the Escape pod (end of the animation) Extracts. No XP Bonuses (For balance) Just Kill & Loot XP, No Raid Missions. Faster Mode, Around 10 Minutes of Oxygen. (subject to change) Approx. 15 Minute cooldown before you can do it again (subject to change) Smaller Rotation of Maps, breach only locations, for plunder its merchant ship or mining frigate. We’re looking forward to seeing how this mode pans out! This should help you acquire some stash before heading into the ominous, unforgiving space. This is primarily surrounding the ‘Wipe’ mechanic that we are utilising. We spoke in our last Dev Blog about cosmetics and the fact that the majority of them will be wiped along with everything else in the list of things being reset in players accounts. Here is the statement: ”All Cosmetics except the UA Ranger, Steel Worker, and Space Pirate outfits are reset.” What I forgot to do, was address the Twitch Drops Cosmetics of both the full set outfit, and the Voice pack for Marauder 42069. These will be wiped from all players accounts. This is an unfortunate draw back of needing to use the ‘Wipe’ mechanic during early access. However, following the next update, we will be making these previously earned Twitch Drops Cosmetics available for everyone to claim for 7 DAYS following the update. This will be possible for ALL PLAYERS. If you do not claim them within that time, you will not have another chance to receive them in the same way any time soon. If we need to do this again, we will inform players in the same way as we are now. The wipe mechanic can be a frustrating one for many, we understand that. We just want to reiterate that we only do this for technical reasons. Our long term goal is to get to a place where we completely change how ‘wipes’ work, but during Early Access this is our tool of choice. We will continue to provide updates like this going forward! More news on the imminent update will be released soon. SIG Team {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42149368/38c51b4e018efe41bfcb3eb7618e0dd184d42d00.png
