And today's the day you all can see the result. MAGNET CRUSHER is now available on Steam, and for free on Android and iOS. When we decided to start ToccGames, my brother and I wanted to create fun and unique games. Without any experience in the gaming industry, with barely any prior knowledge, only pushed by the same thing we all have here: the love for games. MAGNET CRUSHER is our first decent-sized game, and to say this was not a stroll in the park would be an understatement. Cross-progression, UI designed for mobile, keyboard and controller, online ranking, Twitch integration, and, obviously, making the game as fun as possible. All these obstacles and challenges we had to solve allowed us to grow and learn as game creators. And to finally see our efforts come to fruition, to finally be able to show you something we can be proud of is very exciting (and also a bit scary). On our side it was a nice week, we got some feedback on the game which will help us to improve it. Do not hesitate to come here or on Steam to comment and give feedback it is always appreciated. So what did we do last week, I can say it quick, we promote, promote and promote Magnet Crusher. I spend the whole week reaching press media one by one and sending the steam key. The goal behind it is to get some coverage on the release date of the 6th of April. Apart from that, we make a lot of improvements and small bug fixing, so I will not go deep into details. But what was interesting and that we did a lot of playtesting too, on the Twitch mode, on the adventure mode, and so on. We completely review the difficulty curve of the game which is now slightly more difficult when you are approaching the end of the adventure mode. I think that is all that needs to be said, to sum up, the previous week. Let's make a quick stats overview of the Magnet Crusher development, I know some Toccers like these kinds of data: It is now more than 2000 hours of work that we are working on Magnet Crusher, which sounds awesome to me. Twitch mode improvementMar 21, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsPlop Toccers, How are you this week? On our side the last week was still a very busy one. We improved a lot our game with some visual aspects (level display in the background). We also decided to rework the home menu of the Arcade menu. Before you land on a page where you were able to select and assign your powers. Anyway, it was and is still an incredible project that we are proud of we have done. So this new week starting will be focused on marketing and fixing issues on the game. We were able to add a new and last game mode into Magnet Crusher. Let me present you the survival mode: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/bfe89bc23177b875eec5554c81970e122a5e26ef.png The survival mode is a game mode where you have to survive the longest time possible. Your rank will be done from the score but enemies will be more and more numerous and dangerous. As long as your score is increasing, you will reach a new survival level which offers you the possibility to choose a bonus. I will not give you more information and let you discover the game mode. One big thing coming with this new game mode is the mode for streamers. We added to this mode the possibility to connect your twitch account to allow your viewers to interact with your game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/973b6993019d3b9edcab4057621ce48b84d2e7e8.png Your viewer can help you or completely make your game harder. But finally, when the game ends you will know who was real support or not at all with a viewer leaderboard. The counter is going down and excitement is rising. We still have the last thing to add to the game and it is something that we talked a bit about on Twitch. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/451662e224533daa0d8dd51268aa526520bc6ee4.png This mode will be a brand new way of playing Magnet Crusher with another objective. Now you will have to survive as long as possible. And this mode will welcome a connection with Twitch in order to allow streamers to play by interacting with their viewers. We will share mode information in the following days about this new game mode. On our side the last week was a tough and busy week, but we were able to reach nearly all our goals. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/08594e06ab8f7f823f55323c9ead423df5aefa75.png And to start, let's talk about the great news, the Magnet Crusher demo is out and everyone can test it on Steam. Being able to see players playing Magnet Crusher was cool and we already have found some improvement to be made. We are also working on making the Magnet Crusher soundtracks available on Steam and streaming platforms like Spotify. This requires a little more time but will be available soon. And finally, the Magnet Crusher trailer will be revealed tomorrow. We worked a lot on it and we think it shows how our arcade game is intense and fun. Have fun DEVLOG HOUR 1603: Demo and TrailerFeb 21, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsPlop Toccers, I hope everyone is doing good. Let's start with a short update on how things are moving for our small team and our game Magnet Crusher: I think we can say that we are starting to the end of the tunnel, it is a french expression but I do not know if everyone can understand it properly ^^. Anyway, these past days we had improved a lot of small aspects of the game and fixed a lot of small bugs. So we can now say that the game is playable completely even if we have still some updates to make to push it a little bit forward. We added an animated background to make the game more attractive even when there are not so many enemies. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/e3976a2cde72632cdaf735e7b22732a1930a3db9.png The UI has been improved also, with the new HP bar and a new power button more visible. We also improved the power of visual effects with new animation and VFX, feedbacks are now a lot more visible. And finally the big news: we started to work on our release trailer and our demo version. Both will be available for the next devlog so for the end of the week. We'll see if we can get some feedback from you, players. and with that, I wish you a good week.DEVLOG HOUR 1515: Final rushFeb 14, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsPlop Toccers, It is a pleasure to give you news after these two weeks of break and rest. We are now ready to complete the game for the release still planned for the end of March. These days with Turnip we focus on bug solving and polish and I think we can say that we are aligned to deliver a demo / playtest / beta mobile version for the end of our current sprint, I mean the end of February. On my side, I spent time making the game available for low-end mobile devices. This required some adjustment in terms of performance. More precisely I needed to turn off some post-process effect for very low-end devices. We also rework a bit the sound design of the game to make them less high frequency (on the very good advice of one of our viewers on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/toccgameslive) The rest of the time I barely fixed the main bugs which were preventing the game to be playable (I guess it was important ^^. Turnip completed the skin list and we finally have our animated skins ^^. I mean the part where we put all content for the adventure, arcade, UI, and so on. We really want to finish this phase before the end of January to start February with adjustment and polish. So on my side, I spent the whole week creating the 4 boss design by Turnip, and let's be honest I completely underestimated the amount of work required here. I was hoping to complete all 4 bosses by then of the week and it was not the case at all. On another subject, we have changed our website provider and the website is down until I succeed to rebuild it, youhou I was very pleased to see that it will not be so easy... But we still worked on Magnet Crusher. On my side, I focused on polishing tasks, I should not detail all stories but here is a shortlist : - Improve pause/end game UI - Level preview - Sorting list of medals - Skin visibility on UI - ... {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/d661968bcf004524dcb150b165ffd88542c9ceaa.png The other big thing of this week was the new level feature: teleporter walls. We are working on this aspect of levels where the player and other game elements can be teleported between two linked walls. The design of the boss is done and will be integrated the next week. In terms of planning, I think we will need to delay the access to the public demo/beta to make it happen in February. Firstly, because we will take some rest in the second half of January and second because now all elements are in the integration phases but we will need a lot of playtests to adjust everything. While Turnip was working on the bosses and bonus stage for the adventure mode, I was focused on integrating the adventure level into the game. This represents 40 levels to add to the game by creating 7 to 10 waves per level... I almost die XD. But now all levels are created for the adventure mode, of course, it misses the boss and bonus but they will arrive soon. So we are reaching the end of the adventure level production, of course, we will need to balance the things to make the player feel he is progressing in the game but the main part is here. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/6d49392c5539f79eec3d06d1853c6aaeb9fb7d59.png On another side, I spent time working with our intern on the first skins for the game, and I can admit that it is cool to be able to change the aspect of the player. Go back to work and see you next week.DEVLOG HOUR 1012Dec 13, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsThis week we are finishing our adventure mode with all the levels shapes. These shapes require more work than usual because we are adding external blocs for enhanced the overall style of the game. These blocs will be then animated to improve the game feel maybe following the music or reacting to game events. This needs to be determined. On another subject, we completely reworked the leaderboard UI to be able to add more content to the player scoreline. The goal behind it is to prepare the possibility to add more leaderboard tabs and maybe filter. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41526496/f0839407e0f9538b5f84419c4e221b0130d8c10c.png We also added an achievement system, this will be synchronized with Steam. We thought that it was a good idea because it did not require a lot of work on our side, we are using the stats system to follow the unlock status. Another big thing also, is that we are started working on a skin system for the Magnet Crusher.
