There are also many road and rail modifications to make the game run better. Steam Achievements Each region (country) within L3 now has incremental achievements for both the towns and businesses. Each has one for 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000 and 15000. A nice incentive to get that bit further in each region and suddenly they will all be finished. Some players are going for the 5 in each region. Broken Roads A new "helper" to identify broken roads is available. It is on by default but can be turned off by clicking the "B" button on the money panel. When on (purple button), arrows will point to all the "found" broken roads that aren't yet fixed within the currently selected region. Once you have completed 90% of the broken roads within the region, it will also show "un-found" broken roads within that region. Languages A big thanks to those that are helping with the languages. I have used machine translation in order to get the bulk of the work done, so it now a much easier process to tidy up any misinterpretations. Trucks = Green Trains = Purple Ships = Blue Planes = Yellow Industry Discovery Prior to this build, when industries were discovered, you were given a popup to let you know that there was a new cargo available. This popup is now an "Industry Discovery". This will inform you that you have found an industry, where it is at, and what inputs and outputs it has. This is for all discovered industries, including the same types you may have discovered somewhere else. LOGistICAL: Earth and LOGistICAL: Vaccine Steam Achievements LOGistICAL: Earth has passed the Steam detection metrics to determine that it is a "legitimate" game. Explanation: Some time ago there was an inundation of new releases on Steam that exploited what games really were and how Steam Achievements were rewarded. As there were also so many games being released it was near impossible for Steam to manually examine each of them. Steam created an automated method of determination so that every new game is limited for a period until some metrics are reached. I don't know what these metrics are, so don't ask. LOGistICAL: Earth has now passed these metrics and will now show up as your "favourite" game (if so tagged), and all the rewards you get in LOGistICAL: Earth will show up in your statistics. LOGistICAL 2 long ago passed these metrics. LOGistICAL was created before these metrics were introduced. What to expect: Part the restrictions that were placed was that only 100 Achievements could be created. This limit is now much higher at 5,000. LOGistICAL: Earth is huge, so there will be a few more achievements added. Already I have added achievements for completing all the "puzzles" within the game. Next there will be achievements for completing each of the regions (250). There will be achievements for playing and completing LOGistICAL: Vaccine. This makes around 750 achievements so far. Others achievements will be added over time to take into account the continuing list of "group" contracts and also some to break the huge countries into smaller goals. I am open to other ideas and suggestions and hope that soon, one day some players will get 100%. LOGistICAL: Vaccine Just a reminder that LOGistICAL: Vaccine is free to all LOGistICAL owners and is available from either LOGistICAL 3: Earth or the LOGistICAL 3: Earth (demo). Of course it isn't that easy. You will also have to transport ingredients into the vaccine centres to make the vaccine, and also upgrade the vaccine industries, and then transport inputs to those industries and upgrades for them as well, and then for those inputs as well... etc, etc. You know how it is. Oh, and lots of the vaccines require a lot of refrigeration, so you will have to transport to construct that as well as deliver them to many distribution centres. LOGistICAL: Vaccine is a small (large) LOGistICAL game with over 5,000 businesses that each are all quite small (generally less than 50t requirement), and they are all businesses. Here is a summary: - 5,000+ smallish businesses to complete - All roads are visible - No roads require repair nor upgrade - No consumption - No industry building as there are no towns - Some quarantines, but not a large quantity of them - Large trucks can drive anywhere (except ferry routes) - Unlimited quantity of each vehicles types - 100+ vehicles allowed - Multi-Route and Multi-Truck navigation is support - All the LOGistICAL: Earth functionality - Getting finicky or tedious around those islands? Change your logistical approach - Fully rendered maps. Start the game by delivering vaccines to the nearest places to establish your finances. Work your way across the planet. Don't try to upgrade things straight away. You may find that fairly difficult and therefore frustrating. There is still an issue with maximising the games. A workaround is to drag the game's top Windows task bar to the top of the screen. Here is why. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/27575556/eec41c948a3fcc1f6a8dd2646db58d255f4a9e06.png Most of these latest builds are focused on optimising code, L2 and also the upcoming LOGistICAL 3: Earth release. All releases get the benefits of these updates. Truck speed vs Game speed One of the main optimisation updates includes a new process for moving the trucks at high game speed multipliers. Explanation: The old method multiplies the truck's moving distance with the game multiplier and moves forward in one step. If it reaches a node (where 3 or more roads meet) it stops and truncates that move. In L1 this hasn't been a problem. You may lose a tiny fraction of distance traveled as there are many node junctions. With L2 there are many node junctions, so these missed travel distance add up over an entire trip. This new method now only moves the truck its truck speed distance, but it loops it as many times as the game multiplier indicates. Each time it may stop if it hits a node, but then continues on the next loop. TLDR: Running the game at high game speeds is now more accurate. Progress on LOGistICAL 3: Earth L3: Earth is looking huge at the moment. It is not intended to be played from start to finish in a single sitting, but I am sure there are plenty of you out there that will give it a shot. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/27575556/9485a96b32d1e57a3bc1488c409a8a3c542a55f7.png The game will start with a small starting area that will have a bunch of contracts to give access to depots all over the globe. There will be shipping between the continents and islands. I have added clustering to LOGistICAL. Clustering displays a summary of all the towns and businesses within that area. It will display different colours and sizes depending on completeness, town/business quantities, populations (difficulty), industries and other factors. This will be available for L:Earth and possible available for all L2 modules (see image above). This makes the game work smoothly while still processing tens of thousands of towns. Some approximate statistics on L3:Earth (so far): - 250 regions - 50,000 towns - 25,000 businesses - 250,000 road segments - 200,000 road junctions - 3,500,000 nodes L3:Earth alpha is available for test playing. At this point it is only moving the different trucks around the map without have the ability to play any towns or businesses. There is no cost to try it out. Available on "LOGistICAL: ABC Islands (beta passcode: iwillfinishalltownsonearth). To load, right click ABC Islands in your Steam library and select properties, BETA and copy the passcode into the box. I had to restart steam before it showed in the beta dropdown list. These are often known as "spam" games. All new Steam games now go through a process to determine if the game is a "spam" game or not. This process restricts the game so it isn't counted towards your library totals and the amount of achievements are limited to 100. Steam have a secret automatic process that checks each restricted game until it meets their criteria. Once this is met the restrictions are lifted. I have been working hard with the moderators to get LOGistICAL recognised as a "legitimate" game, including writing to Steam. Writing does not help. It must meet the criteria. LOGistICAL 2 has finally met Steam's criteria and all restrictions have been lifted. What does this mean for the LOGistICAL players? LOGistICAL 2 and all the DLCs are now counted in your library. LOGistICAL 2 DLCs will now get their long awaited achievements. Adding achievements is a long process so I will create them for each module and then re-publish the game. Each modules will have achievements for: Completing the module Completing each region and sub-region within the module Completing 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200... towns/businesses/broken roads or upgrading industries Completing some contracts Completing some towns (based on the size of the module) Each achievement will be tagged with the modules abbreviation (eg. TV: for Tuvalu) As each module is complete, I will post an update on what module was updated. To get the achievements for the module with new achievements, you just need to open that module up in LOGistICAL 2.
