In this update the following things changed: Political relationship change check no longer occurs when clicking on select buttons (left, middle, right), but can still change every 15 seconds Increased the amount of the initial relations changes with countries (depending on the player's choices before the appearance of politics) The effects of active actions in Politics menu have been increased (gifting resources to other countries, attacking other countries and sabotage is now more effective). So now it is easier to influence other countries. Increased the amount of army received by other countries every day from random(0.1) to random(0.2). Now countries will gradually become a bit stronger themselves to counteract player's growth. Every day now not only the army of countries will change, but also their attitude towards the player - random (-3,3). Thus, everyday changes of the relationship became more impactful then the changes during each day. In event №6 "Rapunzel" the difficulty of surviving from the Witch has been reduced. And certain bugs were fixed: Event with Rapunzel and the Witch. Previously, if you selected "do nothing" in the first question of an event, the wrong text was returned and the wrong decision variable was selected. The wedding event used to be repeated several times if you choose a secret wedding, refuse to be wed and put the Shepherd of Etakan in prison. When talking with the Necromancer after the execution of the Shepherd of Etakansky, some of the answer buttons were not active (could not press them). Esteban's pillage of the population did not work correctly (did not lead to death, reducing faith to 0). Missionary execution was not working correctly (didn't result in death, reducing faith to 0). You've waited for it - we gave it to ya'! New KingSim update is now live: with trading cards to collect, badges to craft, backgrounds to seize, emoticons and stickers to gather. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36022155/48cbd604e4b061e92c41b42d35e8a077743a1344.jpg But that's not all! Come closer, come closer to hear the tale of this new update: BUGS FIXED: Overall around 50+ different small bugs and glitches are patched, My Lord. Some of the fixes are listed below... Some of the achievements were bugged and harder to get than anticipated (thought all of the achievements in are are currently owned by at least 1 person). The glitches has been worked around and now all achievements should be unlockable by a persistent gamer. Sometimes politics was buggy and all of the countries simalteneously hated the player. Now this should not happen (at least so often ːsteammockingː ). Sometimes the players settings of sound volume and fullscreen mode saved during the last playthrough did not load on the game launch. Fixed. Minor translation errors like giving Esteban the title of Baron would result in her getting the title of Duke. IMPROVEMENTS: All UI logic of the game was rebuilt from the scratch. And though it may not seem like a lot of things changed, now UI window's are updated only when they are interacted with (instead of some of their functions updating every frame). That increases FPS considerably and makes the UI work more consistantly. Load Kingdom button was added to death screen. Now it's easier to continue your previous run (in case you thought it wasn't THAT bad). New ending where the player can become the Necromancer himself added. To sum up: I hope you will like the new cards and updated more stable game build. Let me know what you think in comments below. Bug fixing update 03.09.2021Sep 3, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHello, fellow Kings and Queens! I've heard your cries and shouts and spend some time fixing all of the bugs you've carefully gathered and transmitted to me. Thank you for your help in making KingSim less buggy! BUG FIXED: 1) Building the market makes no tutorial arrow appear when the adviser asks if you want to walk around the market on day 3. 2) Running out of happiness after taking a goat for yourself does not end in a game over. 3) Unknown merchant asks you to buy Ainie from prison even if you freed and married her (which loops the game logic). 4) Running out of health on the mine collapse event, triggers one of the dark rituals endings. 5) Spider Wife was trying to build peace between the people and the monsters but the last choice given is called "continue". 6) Having less than 10 money and choosing the negotiate option while deciding what to do with Esteban, then leaving the city, and paying with gold while dealing with her will just continuously loop back to the three options (pay, threaten, and ask her). 7) The shooting marker follows the deer when he runs away, making it easier for the player to hunt. 8) Holding any mouse button after the title screen is finished to roll up will make the "skip".Major KingSim update is now live!Aug 10, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsDear Kings and Queens, I'm very excited to announce that the HUGE KingSim story update I've been making this whole year after release is now live and ready to be downloaded via your Steam client. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/36022155/07ba9a74bb7b61a61fa924db536a2ec8b348808e.png What's new in the update? I've finally managed to finish working on new in-game events for the upcoming KingSim update. I know it took me much longer than anticipated, but I've tried to make new decisions for players as fun and as meaningful as in the main story mode. In my estimation, the new KingSim update will provide players with about an additional hour to rule and make tough decisions. What left to do: - New character animations; - New death concept art and animation; - Few small changes and game improvements; - Testing of new content and bug fixing; I'll try to finish the Major KingSim update as quickly as possible. All storylines are neatly prototyped and stored using Miro. When all of the dialogues and player choices are done, now it is required of me to put all of that into my game engine. I hope most of you managed to survive threw the main story already and see some ending to the story. I'm going to share some information about how I'm going to work on KingSim next, share my plans one point at a time. 1) Bug fixes. First of all, right now I'm gathering info (from you, players as well) about ingame bugs there are in the current game build. Right after the first week after the release ends, I will spend 1 week searching and eliminating those bugs, Lords and Ladies. If you saw some bug in the game - now would be the right time to shout about it in the "Report a bug" section in the steam discussions of KingSim. !!! Be mindful that your current save files will not work after the bug fixes. If you want to finish an interesting game save - you should do it now. I'm sorry that you will lose your save data, but there is no other way of improving the game technically and balance-wise speaking. !!! 2) Story updates. A lot of people gave me feedback that they liked the game, but felt that the story was a bit short and they want more content in the game. I've heard those prayers and after most of the bugs will get fixed - I'm going to spend several months developing some new story content in the game to increase your playing session time. Please be patient and generous, since I'm just a solo game dev (excluding the help of my wife with concept art) and cannot physically do it too fast. I did not intend the one storyline to be very long, but tried to maximize the branching storyline paths a player can take. 3) Ingame soundtrack DLC. You may have noticed that music in KingSim is quite catchy and fun for 8-bit tunes. Some of this music was made specifically for KingSim, while other was bought from certain different music stores and authors of music for games. I've managed to contact every single music creator of KingSim and convince them to sell all the music used in KingSim in DLC package for your enjoyment, my Lords. !!! All the income gained from KingSim soundtrack DLC will be transferred to the music creators. So if you want to say "thank you" for the nice vibes you've been listening throughout the game - please buy the soundtrack of the game. I will not take any revenue from it to myself !!! Oh, Lords and Kings, Ladies and Queens! A lot of decisions to be made, a lot of NPCs is gonna die. And you... You're gonna die with 'em. Try to survive for as long as you can. Over a hundred different deaths to encounter and endure. Sure, game a bit smaller than I, as a developer, anticipated and planned, but it's still pretty fun! I'm planning to make some free updates to the game story as time goes on. Don't forget to leave an honest review and report bugs (if any) so I could make the game better. I have some news for you: one is bad and the second one is sort-of-good. I'll start from the bad news. Due to the reassessment of my capabilities, my general inability to correctly predict the right time needed for completing tasks and the influx of sudden game bugs... I have to postpone the release. Again. The release is postponed to 05/28/2020. Each in-game day required me much more effort and time than I thought. I wanted to do everything right (as it seemed to me) gameplay- and story-wise. And it seems that I don’t know how to say “no” to myself when it comes to complex plot twists. And sometimes even the creation of very narrow ingame events which only a handful of players will find it. The previously taken additional development period of 1 additional month was not just not enough to finish KingSim - it turned out to be incredibly small. Even the sleepless nights behind the monitor with a sound of clicks of the keyboard and mouse did not save from this problem. This error I will not repeat the second time. Whats taking so long? Well, this is where the second news comes in. I'm not going to move release date anymore. KingSim will not be a game that has grown dust over the years of development, like many other projects that have not come out of the software-making hell for years. The game will be released at 05/28/2020 in whatever state of readiness it will be at that time. Even if it will have bugs or an incomplete story. But (!) in order to prevent this from happening, I intend to set myself a very tight framework. If I won’t have enough time to make a feature by the deadline - it goes under the knife of a feature cut (I will either finish it urgently "as is, even not very fun", or completely refuse the game feature). To comply with this release date, I made a plan in trello that clearly shows all the tasks I need to complete and all the deadlines. I had a similar plan before, but it turned out to be unrealistic and, as I said, now features will get cut in case of them taking too much time.
