To start things of we have a major update 22 for you today that really helps improve a lot of areas of the game - from pathinding to camera, as well as some re-balancing and quality of life improvements. You`ll notice some visual improvements as well. Please keep in mind there will be a follow-up update later this week, adding a few more things that didn`t make it time for today`s update. The one of the biggest additions our payers always asked were adding codes to gain extra resources - and we are happy to finally bring it to KW2. Took a while to make sure they only work in non-multiplayer games. To use such codes Press F7 or open chat window and type in /food or /wood or /stone or /gold to get 1000 of that resources added. It feels great to work on Kingdom Wars 2 again and we spent quite a bit of time bringing a lot more polish and improvements to the game with the upcoming update. Apologize for the delay with getting this live and the announcement, wanted to make sure all the major changes worked well. This update improves all areas of the game, as well as completely changes the way players join battles with much stronger focus on CoOp. From the reworked main menu and matchmaking to new gameplay rules letting players play in CoOp skirmish and CoOp survival both with other players or AI companions. This updates also completes the long term project that improves and streamlines every chapter of the campaign, making it easy and fun on lower difficulties, and always an impossible challenge on harder difficulties. We also looked intro rebalancing a lot of stats for all of the 3 playable races to fix any balancing and other issues. Let’s take a closer look at this Milestone 20th Update . This is simply put the biggest updates we ever had for KW2. It comes with a lot of new features and improvements. The campaign has finally been fully reworked - which took months of work - it`l be worth replaying - fun and smooth on easier difficulties, and real nightmare challenge with harder difficulties. Changes effect every area of the game from update art, GUI, and a lot of improvements to the skirmish and survival mode has gotten a lot of love, polish and balancing - from combat and zombie wave AI to the actual levels. We also rebalanced each of the 3 playable races - with full-on re-balancing - cost, stats and economy. It`s been a busy summer and while we were busy with work on Medieval Kingdom Wars and Kingdom Wars 4 work is still ongoing on Kingdom Wars 2. I`m happy to say that the big 20th milestone update is about half finished and we expect to complete it towards the end of Septemberalmost complete. We are planning to released it late this month and you can expect big things! First of all we finally have completed all the polish on the campaign - so after few months of work it has been fully reworked and streamlined, even for these who completed campaign before, it`s worth a replay. Fun and smooth on easier difficulties, and real nightmare challenge with harder difficulties. In addition skirmish and survival mode has gotten a lot of love, polish and balancing - from combat and zombie wave AI to the actual levels. And last but not least each race got a full-on re-balancing with cost, stats and economy adjusted across the board. Can`t wait to share this update with you later in September Update 19 - Campaign and Skirmish ImprovementsJun 22, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey Everyone, We have another update for you as we continue to polish campaign and improve the skirmish experience. Special thank you for the bug reports posted and feedback on balancing. In skirmish you will notice some changes to how AI works around the level, which is especially visible on some more more complex levels. And campaign is getting a lot more love, especially the later levels that I didn`t get a chance to polish as much as the first 3 levels. And we are working on a major milestone 20th update that should be ready by early July. And now lets go over the patch notes for this 19th update: Improved how AI navigates certain maps that helps on Dagbor level especially AI will move troops closer together instead of sending long lines or solo squads sometimes Updated the pathfinding time, so now when tasking multiple squads the time it takes for all of them to move is a bit shorter (25% or so) Improvements to Chapter 5 of the campaign ]Improvements to Chapter 6 of the campaign Finally got rid of most lag during the big siege in Chapter 4 of the campaign Some localization corrections Fixed a few tooltips giving wrong information Fix a few missing or incorrect unit response dialogues Some improvements in Skirmish win conditions Better balanced out locations of resources on some of the skirmish levels Some other minor fixes and balancing changes Update 18 - Fixes and Campaign WorkApr 18, 2022 - Community AnnouncementsHey Everyone, We have another update this month. This time I mostly focused on the campaign work and some AI improvements. This update also includes some fixes and change to the main menu and some balancing work as well. And finally took care of the rare issues banning players for using cheat engines in singleplayer, it`s resolved for good. I should have a major 19th update with more cool improvements ready within a month, towards middle of May. This update will include major improvements to the combat AI and some changes to the survival mode. Sorry for the delay in our update schedule for the past two months, but I`m happy to say that I`m back to work on more KW2 content and updates. The main focus of the new update was visual improvements on all levels that come through reworked light cycle and new weather effects. Game light is a lot more realistic and to effect gameplay less (like very dark rainy nights before). In addition I took a look at some source of the out-of-sync problems, that should make the situation a lot better now (game will also prohibit players from different version from starting the multiplayer game, to make sure everyone is updated to 1.17). Updates also includes quite a bit of balancing and other fixes for the Campaign levels. I`m hoping to have 18th update with more cool improvements ready within a month, towards middle of May. Update 16 - Major Holiday UpdateDec 18, 2021 - Community AnnouncementsHey Everyone, Wishing everyone great holidays ahead, and after taking some time away from KW2DE I`m back to actively updating the game, and you can expect some solid updates during the holiday season. We have a very solid update today that was long in the making. With this update we looked to address majority of recent reported issues with the game, from campaign saves, to survival mode, and issues with defeating elven players. There`s a long list of changes, and overall gameplay experience is a lot better now in all game modes. We`ll continue with another update later on this month. As a bonus the 16th update includes the last 4 chapters of the reworked campaign that has been greatly improved and is actually fun to play and much easier to complete now. We continue this week with updating our singleplayer campaign - with major rework on Chapter 2 and Chapter 1. We plan to complete rework of the campaign towards the end of March. This update also include some great fixes from performance to unit tasking and combat improvements. In addition we also worked on some art assets - including scaling units up, and last but not least balancing. Of note we made some very important fixes to the AI - and it will finally show proper use of siege equipment when attacking towns. In additions we worked on how the game world is perceived - with more up-close camera, smaller battalion flags and other changes to help player be closer to the action without as much visual distractions. We plan another update in February and two more updates in March, as we are just a quarter way through the planned improvements and fixes, that we hope to complete over the next 7 updates. Today`s lucky update is the major step forward in several directions - especially with regards to performance, AI, main menu approach and game flow. We have also worked on fixing various leftover bugs, and whatever player suggestions and reports we found. We are glad to see the player population is steadily increasing, and with the sale event starting in the second half of this month, we hope to finally see some multiplayer battles.
