Killing Floor Mod Defence Alliance 2

Killing Floor reaches the 'End of the Line' with new updateJul 2, 2014 - ShacknewsTripwire Interactive is well into development for next year's Killing Floor 2. But the studio hasn't forgotten the first Killing Floor and is planning a substantial update for later today. The End of the Line update will include a couple of paid DLC packs, as well as a new map pack that will be free for all players.Killing Floor spin-off Calamity hits OuyaDec 18, 2013 - ShacknewsNow that the Ouya has forever changed the face of gaming as we know it, you may find yourself wondering "So what am I to do with my Ouya now?" If you enjoy murdering monsters, here, dust off that Ouya and fire up Killing Floor: Calamity. Series creator Tripwire today released a top-down spin-off of its survival FPS, exclusively on Ouya, of all places.Killing Floor celebrates Twisted Christmas againDec 5, 2013 - ShacknewsIt's lucky that Christmas is coming, as otherwise nothing would be happening in the world of video games. Killing Floor developer Tripwire today announced the return of Twisted Christmas, an event which transforms the co-op survival FPS into a wintry horrorshow. This being the fourth such celebration, gosh, it's almost a Christmas tradition in itself.Killing Floor free for a week as Summer Sideshow introduces Objective ModeJul 4, 2013 - ShacknewsSummer has now truly begun, with the launch of Killing Floor's latest seasonal event. The free Summer Sideshow: Pier of Pain update introduces another map of steampunk carnival carnage, Steamland, which is the first of Tripwire's new Objective Mode maps. Oh, and the survival shooter is free for everyone to play until July 11. Come, join the festivities! Objective Mode introduces, as you've probably guessed, objectives, allowing for maps more complex than simply "kill all the monsters and don't die". Pier of Pain will have you repairing power boxes to open the fairground's gates, escorting Ringmaster Lockheart, and more. Also, as you'd hope, it's filled with little carnival games to play on the side. Earning all the Summer Sideshow achievements will unlock new character Steampunk Mrs. Foster. Tripwire's also selling a new DLC pack of four steampunk weapons made by the community, including a steam musket and absurd shotgun. It'll usually cost $7.99, but has launched at $3.99 because hey, Killing Floor and all its DLC are on sale for the event. Check the Summer Sideshow site for more, and run on over to Steam to start playing while it's free. You can buy Killing Floor to keep for only $3.99 (80% off!) if you take a shine to it, which you may well: it is jolly nice. Killing Floor Twisted Christmas event blasts off to the moonDec 12, 2012 - ShacknewsTripwire Interactive's support of Killing Floor has been jolly admirable, with regular free content updates and paid DLC releases which don't feel at all cheeky. After taking us to a frightful fairground for its summer event and a mutant hillbilly hideout at Halloween, the co-op survival shooter is blasting players to the Moon, of all places, in its latest 'Twisted Christmas' celebration. This year, monstrous Christmassy versions of Killing Floor's monsters have swarmed a moonbase, and it's up to you to explode their heads and watch bits of brain float away in low-gravity. Scattered around the moonbase are pieces of a superweapon you can assemble, and the update adds a new gun for the Medic class too. A new axe is up for grabs as well, if you either earn 40,000 gold in the free-to-play version of Dwarfs!? or own the full version. Plus, of course, this brings another opportunity to unlock the festive Baddest Santa skin. The update was supposed to hit on Tuesday, but was delayed by a last-minute bug discovery. It is out now, though, and is scheduled to end on January 3. Two new paid cosmetic DLC packs, offering a robotic player character and gold weapon skins, are supposed to launch alongside it. Check the official event page for more details. Killing Floor celebrates Halloween with hillbilliesOct 23, 2012 - ShacknewsWhen your game is already about killing mutated monstrosities, you really need to push the boat out for Halloween. Killing Floor has always handled events with gusto and this year is no different, with zombie hillbillies after your blood and delicious brains in a new map. The Hillbilly Horror update also adds four new weapons, and the game and its DLC are on sale t'boot. The Halloween fun takes place on a redneck homestead by a lake of glowing ooze, which has the unfortunate side-effect of turning the local population into brain-hungry fiends. Luckily, you're now armed with a nail gun, World War 2 trench shotgun firing incendiary rounds, vintage MKb42(h) assault rifle, and a medic grenade which heals chums while poisoning monsters. Completing new achievements can unlock a playable grim reaper skin, too. If you need even more firepower, a pack of four community-made weapons selected from Steam Workshop submissions is out now, packing a scythe, Tommy gun, flare-firing revolver, and buzzsaw-launching crossbow. It'll regularly cost $7.99, with money going to the creators, but is currently only $3.99 in the sale. The base game is now only $4.99, thanks to a 75% discount, while there's 50% off all DLC. This also includes the newly-cyborgified chicken man DLC character, The Chickenator. DLC! Hillbilly Horror and the sale run until November 6. Hit the event page for more information. Killing Floor Summer Sideshow returnsJul 5, 2012 - ShacknewsRoll up, roll up, for the carnival of carnage that is Killing Floor's Summer Sideshow. The eviscerating event has returned until July 23 with five new weapons, a new fairground map 'Hellride,' and, of course, more murderous carnival freaks. Steam will automatically download the free update. Once again, Killing Floor has been overrun with twisted sword-swallowers, chainsaw-wielding monkeys, vomit-spewing clowns, Siamese twins, and other mutated monstrosities. Fortunately, you have guns and swords. More guns now, in fact, now that the five weapons from the community-made IJC Pack are now officially part of the game, having been rebalanced a little. The 16 Sideshow Steam achievements are back, unlocking the Steampunk Mr. Foster character if you get them all, along with 9 new achievements. Tripwire has also released four new characters in the Urban Nightmare DLC pack. If you have more money than sense, you can also pay $5 for the money-spewing Harold Lott, based on 80s comedy character Loadsamoney. Hit Tripwire's Summer Sideshow page for more information. Look, a monkey! Killing Floor hits a million sales, discounted on SteamFeb 14, 2012 - ShacknewsTripwire Interactive announced that Killing Floor has crossed a million sales. In addition, almost 2 million downloadable content packs have been sold, and players have clocked 45 million hours in the game. Players have taken down 440 million zeds, including roughly 250K Christmas Santas. The zed massacre is still ongoing, being killed at a rate of roughly 20,000 per hour. "As a truly independent outfit who have funded ourselves all the way, we are particularly proud of the achievement," the company wrote in a statement. "Our thanks go to all the developers of the Killing Floor mod and everyone on the team here at Tripwire Interactive, who's continued support has made the game such a huge success. We would also like to thank all the members of the community who have made maps and other add-ons for the game, with the Killing Floor SDK. And, most importantly, we offer our thanks to all of the fans and everyone who has bought the game over the past two years and helped make Killing Floor the cultural phenomenon that it is today." The Killing Floor released in 2009, but has seen consistent support with new updates and promotions, including Summer Sideshow and Twisted Christmas events this past year. To celebrate, and no doubt to sell even more copies, Tripwire is offering the game for a whopping 85% off through Steam as the digital retailer's "Midweek Madness" sale. That brings it down to $2.99 through February 16. The Killing Floor bundle, which includes various character packs, is down to $4.78 through the same period. Killing Floor to get holiday-themed content, free weekendDec 6, 2011 - ShacknewsWhen the name of your game is Killing Floor and the premise is "kill everything that isn't you," a certain amount of holiday cheer is expected. Developer Tripwire Interactive has announced the return of its Twisted Christmas holiday event, which will add a new level, music, weapons, and achievements to the game for a limited time. The content is free to all owners of the game will be available from December 7 through January 4. Killing Floor will also be free to play via Steam this weekend, beginning December 8 through December 11. This year's event adds the level Ice Cave as well as seven brand new weapons. Another character DLC character pack is also in the works, entitled Steampunk 2, helping users "complete the set" of Steampunk-style characters introduced in previous DLC. For more information on the content, check out the game's official blog. Killing Floor is available on Steam, Direct2Drive, and other digital distribution services. Halloween horrors guide: Scream Fortress 2, Trains vs Zombies, and moreOct 28, 2011 - ShacknewsWith the scariest holiday on the calendar creeping near, a Hellish handful of vicious video ghouls (games) are hosting Halloween festivities. If you can't find the fishnet stockings needed to complete your Sexy Parking Meter costume, and will be staying, here's a few unspeakable ideas on how to amuse yourself this wicked weekend. You can seek the Bombinomicon in Team Fortress 2, fight Dracula and dress as Commander Chicken in Killing Floor, escape a zombie nightmare in Train Simulator 2012, and join in plenty of other spooky thrills. Once again, Team Fortress 2 is running the scariest show in town, with the Third Annual Scream Fortress Very Scary Halloween Special. After reading the fabulous new comic revealing the terrifying truth behind the Demonman's missing eye, you'll be ready to hunt the accursed orb. The map Viaduct has become the haunted Eyeaduct, where you'll face the twisted creature the Demoman's eye became, the Monoculus. Defeating it will grant rewards, while you can also find new and fantastic Hallowe'en costumes, buy chilling new Mann Store items, or get a cauldron of goodies just for playing. Check the TF2 wiki for more, and have a peek at Eyeaduct courtesy of Youtube user Niichts: Survival shooter Killing Floor is running the Halloween Sideshow, bringing back and spookifying the cast of the Summer Sideshow. Trains vs Zombies Bunch of Heroes is offering the spooky skins in the Horror Pack DLC for free on Steam over the weekend, after which you'll need to buy them. As ever, MMOs including World of Warcraft, Champions Online, DC Universe Online, Guild Wars, Aion, Free Realms, and oh so many more have their own Halloween festivities. And, of course, there are heaps o' Halloween sales going on, but we'll have more on that in our weekend digital deals roundup later today.
