Killers and Thieves Build Notes - June 14, 2017Jun 14, 2017 - Community AnnouncementsWe've pushed a new build of Killers and Thieves today, with many bug fixes as well as some balance adjustments. Thanks to everyone who sent in their feedback and shared bug reports with us, enabling us to make these fixes and improvements to the game! If you have any need for support you can post in our Bugs discussion thread, or reach out directly at [email protected]. Thank you! Build Notes - June 14, 2017 Updates: The title screen includes "How to Heist". Clicking this will take you to the youtube video. If you're having trouble with heists, please check this out! Pause is now space bar by default. Context toggle (used to be space bar) is now left-shift. Guards in Brinegates and Skardway are much less random in power, and will be a lot easier for your fighters to take down. Key remapping added to the options menu. Bug Fixes: Auto-escape during heists now only has a 15% chance that each thief will be captured (used to be 100%). Pressing the Eavesdrop hotkey (E) when your thief doesn't have the ability no longer activates it. Fixed various save game issues. Intro video now plays more smoothly and skipping does not create audio feedback. Fixed issue where in rare cases the mission marker would not appear after hard-closing the game. For existing games, this will apply to new recruits as they're generated, not thieves that were already in the recruiter list. Changing existing recruits would have created new issues, but all future thieves will have correctly randomized abilities. All stats now improve/appear correctly after training a thief. We know you have a lot of things you could be spending your money on, and we are honored that so many of you are supporting Killers and Thieves. However, we also recognize that it hasn’t been a problem-free launch. The whole team here at Stoic really appreciates all of your feedback about Killers and Thieves. Community feedback is vital for what we do, because it’s the main way we learn about issues that need addressing. We are paying attention to everything being shared with us, and that in turn is helping us to prioritize the updates and fixes that are most urgently needed. We look forward to sharing an improved Killers and Thieves experience very soon, which will address the most pressing concerns in the community. These will include: Clarifying the early-game player experience: - We’re adding a clear, updated, in-game tutorial panel. This will help to explain high-level gameplay goals and improve the early player experience. - We’re working with an expert Killers and Thieves player to record videos demonstrating effective ways to play. These videos will be accessible from the title screen and will outline strategies to help players pick up the key mechanics more easily, and will be subtitled. Adding extra functionality and fixes: - Pressing the spacebar will pause the action during a heist, in addition to the P key. - A fix will be added to improve accuracy of the “mission success chance”. - The scrolling speed of the loot menu will be fixed. - Store information will be laid out correctly against the screen edge. - Corrections will be made to in-game text. We are working on these vital updates and fixes right now, and they will be implemented as soon as possible. More updates will follow based on deeper consultation with the community over the next few days and will continue in the coming weeks. This is a different kind of game from their signature viking epic but shares a lot of its DNA. Killers and Thieves puts players into the role of the guildmaster, the shadowy figure lying at the heart of a medieval thieves’ guild. Recruit street rats, train them up into highly-skilled burglars and cutthroats, and then set them loose in a vast, living city. It’s available now! The heart of the game is the heist, featuring tactical real-time action as you control your crew as they break into buildings, dodge guard patrols, snatch everything valuable and then vanish into the shadows.
