The game no longer crashes when you terminate a Top Priority Mission. Removed the reticle inside the Sight Magnifier that was displayed there by mistake. Improved precision of the Reflex Sight for G36 Handle – bullets no longer veer to the left. You can now use the button to break or close the shotgun while holding a cartridge taken from the shotgun’s cartridge belt in your other hand. The safety on Fort-17 pistol is now positioned correctly. Foregrips installed on weapons no longer occasionally stop working after a saveload. Helmets no longer have collision that made them interfere with weapons. Made the Forest location less dark. The death screen is no longer obstructed by objects in the game world. Player’s fingers are now tracked correctly when using Valve Index controllers. The required grip strength for the right hand is now equal to that of the left hand, rather than being significantly greater. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/69bf8a2ed2c2c854ceff61bdd5e61cafb208d7a3.pngUPDATE 0.13.0 GHOST TOWNApr 24, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers! A new location with unique traits and atmosphere, new weapons and attachments, numerous changes and features - all await you in our latest and greatest (definitely biggest) update to date. See you in the Radius! IMPORTANT NOTICE This update is not compatible with any previous saves! To experience all the changes, please start a new game, but beta testers will be able to transfer their saves from Betas 2 and 3 (not 1). KNOWN ISSUES The first launch after the update might be confusing, as shader compilation will take place during loading, but there won’t be any image visible in the headset. This is normal – the process just isn’t properly reflected in the UI yet. Foregrips may temporarily stop working after a saveload or transition between locations. Detach and reattach them to restore functionality. The reticle inside the Sight Magnifier is there by mistake and will be removed in an upcoming patch. In Co-op, the client may still hear the host's microphone after transitioning to a different location, even if the host's mic volume is set to 0%. Workaround: fully disable voice chat (Settings -> Audio -> Voice Chat ) and/or mute your teammate’s microphone on the Team tab in the pause menu. KEY FEATURES Player Body Improvements We added a new option for the player's body behavior when the player tilts their head – in the style of ITR1. The setting has been renamed to Body View and moved from the Gameplay to the Controls section in Settings. We also increased the accuracy of automatic height calibration. The player’s character has been made slightly shorter by default and the hands are now slightly smaller. Slightly adjusted the camera position relative to the body for improved comfort, and tuned the grip mechanics for all climbable objects for improved climbing comfort and ease of use. Physical crouching has also been improved: you can now crouch much lower and even lie down. For better visibility when crouching very low, the player's body becomes transparent so it doesn't block the view. Customizable Chest Rigs, Armor Vests, and Backpacks The weapon and item placement system got a complete overhaul – now, you’re able to not only use pre-configured Chest Rigs and Armor Vests but also reconfigure them and even create your own setup from scratch. You have near-complete control over which pouches and holsters you need, where and at what angle they will be placed, allowing you to fully customize your Chest Rigs, Plate Carriers, and Backpacks to fit your playstyle. All items in the game have received updated internal capacity parameters and their impact on the capacity of containers they are placed in, aligning with our current vision for the loadout system and its customization. Now, your overall loadout is determined only by the Loadout Points of the Helmet, Rig or Vest, Backpack you're wearing, and the weapon in your hands. It is also affected by the attachments on your Helmet and weapon. The heavier they are, the slower you move – regar...Dev Diary // The Ghost Town Update…and more!Apr 18, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers 👋 Beta testing of update 0.13 is in full swing. While we continue working on its completion, we’d like to discuss what’s happening with the game right now and what lies ahead of us. Betas of Update 0.13 First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone who has played and continues to play the beta versions, sharing their reactions, bug reports, and feedback! This greatly aids us in the development and evolution of the game. Beta 1 was released in February, introducing a complete overhaul of the loadout system (backpacks, chest rigs, and vests), now featuring numerous individual pouches and options, making it fully customizable. Additionally, the player’s body was refined, new variations of anomalies and enemies were added, locations and visual designs of various entities were improved, and the majority of annoying bugs from version 0.12 were fixed. It also included results from refactoring and optimizing multiple systems for both single-player and co-op modes. Beta 2, released in early April, added a new massive location (Pechorsk Outskirts) crafted in the urban style frequently requested and discussed. Alongside this, the entire in-game progression, settings, and balance of locations, anomalies, distortion zones, enemies, loot, weapons, and items were reworked. The Loadout Points system was simplified, tutorials, climbing mechanics, location audio, and Base design were refined, proximity chat was added to co-op mode, and both old and new bugs were fixed. Beta 3 was released just last week, containing even more fixes! Currently, we’re still focusing on bug fixing and minor adjustments, in preparation for 0.13’s full release. Progress Wipe But it’s not all sunshine and artifacts — with update 0.13, we’ll need to perform a wipe, meaning all existing save progress will be reset. Into the Radius 2 is still in Early Access, and periodic wipes are a natural part of that process. We know it’s not ideal, and we did our best to avoid them during the 9 months we’ve been in EA — which led many to think wipes weren’t going to happen at all. But that was never the intended norm. With update 0.13, a wipe has become unavoidable. The scope of changes (technical, progression-related, balance and location settings) is fundamentally incompatible with old save files. Supporting legacy saves would require significant resources — resources we’d rather invest in new features and content. The point of Early Access is to develop and evolve the game, and long-term save stability just isn’t something that can be guaranteed in this phase. Will there be another wipe in the future? Yes — at the very least when we launch the full version (1.0). Beyond that, it’s hard to say. It’ll depend on the nature of future changes. In any case, we’ll warn you in advance, just like we did starting with Beta 1. Scale and Significance of Update 0.13 Update 0.13 is a very large update by our standards, that doubles the game’s content and playtime. ITR2 hasn’t received such a su...Weeklong Deal 30% off until April 21st!Apr 14, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/ffa2d1aadc1c056c2dff951d41b17536eb01e4ba.pngUpdate 0.13.0 Beta 3 (HOTFIX)Apr 9, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers! Today’s update doesn’t require any save transfers from Beta 2 and doesn’t include a wipe. Just update your latest version and dive back Into the Radius. FIXES Fixed and improved the weapon sway while moving. The screen no longer becomes blurry when you hold a gun with a mounted scope in your field of view. Adjusted magazine insertion for handguns. Jamming is now functioning properly on all guns. Weapon silencers no longer stop functioning after transitioning between locations or loading a save. AK-74N with silencer no longer plays the shooting sound continuously after firing a single shot in auto mode. The sound of closing slider on M4A1 now plays correctly and gunstock textures no longer have issues. The safety on the GSh-18 now moves together with the trigger, as it should. Collision for underbarrel rail for IZh-27 now works correctly. Backpack no longer detaches from your back after loading if saved with backpack in hand. Backpack now displays correct capacity if you place items inside it before buying it in the Supply Depot. The Terminal no longer displays incorrect “Lost Items” mission status after transition between locations. Fixed numerous visual bugs with textures and materials on various objects around the Facility. Attachments no longer require overly precise aiming to trigger the item info popup at the Supply Depot. Unintended loot no longer spawns. Fixed the levitating objects on the Peninsula. Restored the missing climbable objects at the Pechorsk Outskirts. Staircase collisions in houses at the Pechorsk Outskirts now work correctly. Adjusted the location of certain Mission Items. Mission Artifact no longer spawns inside cliffs. The map markers are now in place and work correctly for the Equipment Delivery mission. Host no longer crashes when transitioning between locations. The client no longer crashes if the host drops an item while the client is connecting. Tide timing is no longer desynced between host and client when the host is asleep in bed and the client isn’t on the server. The computer at the Exchange Counter now correctly handles the items that cannot be sold. The weapon cleaning info no longer displays formatting symbols. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/4937bf2b79797d7a85c4a9dd9d679ece5a34e18a.png Latest Diary Entries 🔸 The Tips and Tricks 🔸 The End of the Year 🔸 Common Requests Socials 🔹 Follow on X 🔹 Join our Discord 🔹 Join our SubredditUpdate 0.13.0 (Beta 2)Apr 4, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers! This one took way longer than expected. But we hope the wait was worth it. Please enjoy. Important note: This beta version is not compatible with any previous saves! To experience all the changes, please start a new game. And once again – this will also apply when Update 0.13 is fully released. 💠 To access the beta go to Steam, Select Into the Radius 2 game, Manage>Properties>Betas> select “active-beta”. The beta has its own save folder *(%Documents%/My Games/IntoTheRadius2)* and the saves will be compatible with the live version, once 0.13.0 fully releases. You’ll need to copy your saves from the beta folder. 💠 Be sure to remove any installed mods before playing. The update adds foundational changes which will inadvertently break most mods. 💠 Make sure to use the Beta 0.13 sub forum to share your feedback! KEY FEATURES Introducing the new massive location, with the working title Pechorsk Outskirts! This is a comparatively late-game area, making it more challenging than previous locations, with new conditions, dangers, and trials awaiting all Explorers. Proper preparation, equipment, weapons, and supplies are essential before venturing in. In its current implementation, access to the new location is unlocked through the Top Priority Mission: Distorted Sample Delivery. The in-game progression has been completely reworked. Missions, loot, enemies, anomalies, and access to weapons and equipment have all been adjusted to ensure a gradual difficulty curve and progression, with the introduction of the new large location. The maximum Security Level has been increased to 4, with some equipment and weapons now unlocking only upon reaching it. Completely rebalanced loadout parameters for all weapons and gear. With these changes, the lighter your equipment, the heavier and bulkier weapons you can handle without being overloaded, and vice versa. Please note that Loadout Points do not represent weight but rather a synthetic parameter combining weight, size, and ease of use. The heavier they are, the slower you move – regardless of how much is stored in your Backpack, Chest Rig, or Vest (each of them has their own compatibility and capacity limits). With the addition of a new late-game location, the Forest location has been made less dangerous and difficult, as it was originally intended to be. The number and difficulty of enemies there have been reduced. The anomaly distribution across all Radius locations has been reworked. Some anomaly clusters have been removed, others have been modified or completely redesigned,...Spring Sale 30% off until March 20th!Mar 13, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/4c48099a91e7d4a5100aacf29a6e13a0bc1c73f4.pngWeeklong Deal 30% off until March 3rd!Feb 24, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/986024cef3bf7c37cbc803776d265c4b45cec5fc.pngUpdate 0.13.0 (Beta 1)Feb 20, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers! 👋 As we mentioned in our previous dev diary, this early beta of Update 0.13.0 is primarily intended for playtesting technical changes aimed at improving quality, stability, and optimization. Today’s beta won’t introduce the new location (expect it in beta 2 or 3), but it does bring important new content and improvements to existing ones. Please note that this beta won’t wipe your saves, but after the full release of Update 0.13.0, all progress across all versions of the game will be reset. 💠 To access the beta go to Steam, Select Into the Radius 2 game, Manage>Properties>Betas> select “active-beta”. Otherwise you might encounter issues due to incompatibility. 💠 Make sure to use the Beta 0.13 sub forum to share your feedback! CHANGES We added a new option for the player’s body behavior when the player tilts their head – in the style of ITR1. The setting has been renamed to Body View and moved from the Gameplay to the Controls section of Settings. Any feedback on this new option will be highly appreciated! It is set by default, but if you’re using your old saves, please select the new option and let us know what you think of it. The player’s character has been made slightly shorter by default. The player’s hands are now slightly smaller and their position can be displayed inaccurately when holding an item. This occurs because the poses haven’t fixed yet, but we will do that in the upcoming updates. Refactored the item grip system to optimize its functionality and simplify its future development. These changes should be seamless and not noticeable to the player. Optimized the Ammo Boxes: now bullets inside are rendered only when visible to the player. Improved the gunfire sounds for all weapons. Completely redesigned the weapon and item placement system – now, you can not only use pre-configured Chest Rigs, Armor Vests, and Backpacks but also reconfigure them and even create your own setup from scratch. You have near-complete control over which pouches and holsters you need, where and at what angle they will be placed, allowing you to fully customize your Chest Rigs, Plate Carriers, and Backpacks to fit your playstyle. Please also note the following known issues: - Old Chest Rigs and Backpacks look broken but still function as before. Please replace them with the new versions as soon as possible. All old Chest Rigs and Backpacks will be removed in the full 0.13 release as well as the saves from beta versions. - Due to the major overhaul of the weapon and item placement system, loadout points are not always calculated correctly. As a temporary measure, the weight and capacity parameters of many items have been significantly reduced. These values will be adjusted in future b...Dev Diary // The Tips & TricksFeb 7, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsHello, explorers 👋 Our team is actively working on the upcoming 0.13 update, and in February, we plan to launch its first beta. As we mentioned in our last dev diary, we’re changing our approach to beta versions, initially focusing on technical testing, with new content and features added gradually as they’re ready. So don’t expect the new location in the very first beta! We’ve been reading your comments and watching your videos, and today’s post is dedicated to a Tips & Tricks roundup, highlighting some mechanics that may not be obvious or are often overlooked. Feel free to share your own life hacks in the comments so we can build the ultimate ITR2 guide collection together! Weapons • Most firearms allow you to partially eject a magazine instead of dropping it completely. Hold A/X instead of just pressing it, and you’ll be able to pull the magazine out manually with your other hand. (Keep in mind - not all guns have this feature!) • While holding a gun with both hands, press Y/B on the supporting hand to hold your breath for a steadier shot. • You can transfer rounds between ammo boxes, not just from boxes to magazines. https://i.imgur.com/4mIYh2T.gif • Empty ammo boxes you no longer need can be disposed of in the trash container at your Base. The Committee’s maintenance crew will clear it out while you’re in the Radius. • Every firearm in the game—except for double-barrel shotguns—features a slide/bolt lock (even when not entirely realistic, it’s very useful). To engage it, pull the bolt back and press the fire mode switch button. The bolt will stay locked open. Pressing the same button again will release it. • Using the bolt lock, you can manually load a round directly into the chamber or quickly charge the weapon when swapping magazines. Items & Gear • Your backpack has more storage than you think—you can use the inside of the lid as well as certain outer sections for extra placement options. https://i.imgur.com/VGDBGk7.gif • To swap backpacks, first remove your current one the same way you remove a chest rig (hold A/X and press Grip on the same controller). Then, simply equip the new one. Alternatively, use a backpack stand at the Base—just hang up your old pack and put on a new one. • The headlamp can be worn on its own or attached to a Sfera Helmet. Other ballistic helmets feature rails where you can mount weapon attachments (such as weapon flashlights). • Attachments can only be mounted while holding the helmet in your hand—you can’t modify a helmet while wearing it. • To turn on a mounted flashlight, bring your hand close and press Trigger. https://i.imgur.com/wU66BXL.gif • You can store a turned-on flashlight in your thigh pocket, keeping both hands free while lighting your way in an emergency. • No need to bend down or reach far to grab items—use distance grip instead: point at an item, hold Trigger, then press Grip. https://i.imgur.com/a634yuL.gif • Health syringes differ in recovery speed, amount healed, rarity, and price: • Red Emer...Weeklong Deal 20% off until Jan 20th!Jan 13, 2025 - Community Announcements{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/adbcc2a289453cd8da484e38e92de57ae090b769.pngPATCH 0.12.3Jan 7, 2025 - Community AnnouncementsFIXES ⚙️ The Head Flashlight now functions correctly, with proper orientation and positioning on the head, and no longer slips. ⚙️ The Anti-Distortion Headgear no longer resets its charge after a save+load. ⚙️ The chocolate bar wrapper or used syringe no longer sticks to the body slot after being fully consumed. ⚙️ Cigarettes are now correctly positioned in the mouth. ⚙️ The Terminal in the Command Room now always accepts Mission Items on the first attempt. ⚙️ Fixed an issue where players could get stuck after reaching the artifact during the Artifact Extraction Mission at Forest. ⚙️ The sensor no longer clips through the roof in Top Priority Mission 7. ⚙️ The Creep Monster now consistently retains its animations. ⚙️ Fixed a crash when the player loads IZh-27 for the first time. ⚙️ The shotgun’s audio effects now play correctly for both shots for the client. ⚙️ The backpack no longer desyncs and falls when the client drops it in mid-air. ⚙️ The client no longer spawns under the ground after rejoining the game. ⚙️ Ammo boxes no longer become unusable. ⚙️ The shotgun cartridges being ejected by the host are now displayed correctly for the client. ⚙️ Items on the Supply Depot shelves are no longer missing for the client. ⚙️ The Anti-Distortion Headgear info window now displays the maximum protection time. ⚙️ The map now displays the bridge leading to the transition point from Peninsula to Forest. ⚙️ The objective marker in Top Priority Mission 5.1 (TOP: Field Testing) is now placed correctly on the map. KNOWN ISSUES ❗ Anomalies inside buildings may spawn in ways that block pathways or Mission Items. Wait for the Tide to refresh the anomaly positions. If this happens during the very first mission, reload an autosave that is made on entering the location. ❗ Weapons in Co-op still have shooting issues for client, though the situation has improved compared to earlier versions. We noticed that the AKS-74U, PP-19 Bizon, M4A1, and Groza (all their variations) perform the worst – it’s better to avoid using them. Other weapons seem to perform better but may still have issues. Unfortunately there is no easy fix and we are working hard on refactoring the system to eliminate the source of the problem. ❗ It is recommended not to close the game through Task Manager, as this may cause crashes when starting a new game with the same profile. In such cases, you will need to completely delete the Profile N -> Single folder to start a new game with the same profile. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44777179/7c5958ea70226c5bf151f9252a0e5adf31018b20.png Latest Diary Entries 🔸 Dev Diary // The End of the Year 🔸 The Upcoming Update and More 🔸 The Post Launch Feedback Socials 🔹 Follow on X 🔹 Join our Discord 🔹 Join our SubredditDev Diary // The End of the YearDec 20, 2024 - Community AnnouncementsHello explorers! ❄️ Today we’d like to highlight ITR2’s current state, and share a glimpse of what’s to come in the New Year. Calibration in standing mode sets the character’s height equal to the player’s height, while in seated mode, it sets the ratio between the seated player’s height and the set character’s height. Switching modes still triggers automatic recalibration as before. 🔸 A set of iron sights for the M4A1 has been added and is available starting at Security Level 1. 🔸 The gas block on the Stashed and Modified M4A1 has been replaced with a railed gas block. 🔸 Black AK-74 magazine is now available at Security Level 2. 🔸 Adjusted zeroing of the Eodeck Scope. 🔸 Added a new transition between the Peninsula and Forest, accessible after completing Top Priority Mission 5 (for new saves) or upon reaching Security Level 2 (for existing saves). 🔸 Adjusted the number of Security Points required to unlock Top Priority Missions. 🔸 Replaced quest items in Top Priority Missions 2, 5, and 5.1 with recolored versions to prevent confusion with identical items from other missions. We hope you enjoy the new features, content, and changes. Let us know what you think, and see you in the Radius :) KEY FEATURES Player body improvements To address several persistent issues, we revamped our approach to body handling. Height calibration is now more accurate (as long as your boundary is enabled and properly configured). Additionally, legs now scale to match the player’s height, but we don't scale the whole character to prevent issues with holsters becoming closer to each other and harder to grab for smaller people. We introduced a dedicated seated mode, the ability to choose between seated or standing mode during the height calibration tutorial step, and automatic height recalibration when switching between these modes. Body turning logic has been refined to better resemble ITR1. New armor equipment We added 3 ballistic helmets: ‘Sfera’, PASGT, and FAST. They protect you from impact until they completely wear out and become useless. The helmets vary in their parameters and features, including compatibility with Head Flashlights and may have or not have rails for attachments (please check Known Issues regarding the powering on the attachments if they are on the worn helmet). A separate slot for helmets/headgear has been added to all backpacks. https://i.imgur.com/gJjLAyc.gif New guns and a weapon set redesign We added 2 iconic guns – the AKM and M4A1 in several variations (by the way, the M4A1's telescopic stock length can be adjusted). To diversify the weapons in the game and make them appear more frequently in loot, we reworked the weapon set so that its variations fall into one of 3 new categories: 1) Stashed version – found in the Radius, with reduced stats and capabilities; 2) "Stock" version – acquired at the Supply Depot, with basic stats and capabilities, but limited attachment options; 3) Modified version – also acquired only at the Supply Depot, with enhanced stats and a wider range of attachment options. Configuration changes have affected all current weapons! Don’t be surprised if something is missing or new.
