PlayStation Plus October: Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2, and SuperhotSep 28, 2022 - VG247Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for October, and the games are Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2, and Superhot. PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium members can add these three titles to their game library from October 4 until October 31. Sony will announce the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog lineup for October later this month. Coming to PS4 and PS5 is the arcade sim Hot Wheels Unleashed that finds you collecting, building, and racing vehicles. You can race side by side with friends in two-player split-screen, or go up against 12 opponents in online challenges. Read more Netherrealm's DC superhero fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us is now an animated movieJul 21, 2021 - EurogamerFans of super-person pile-ons and animated stuff are in luck; developer Netherrealm's acclaimed superhero fighting series Injustice: Gods Among Us is getting the animated movie treatment courtesy of DC and Warner Bros. Animation. That's according to the Hollywood Reporter, which says the film - to be released under the DC Animated Movie banner - will draw inspiration from Netherrealm's video game titles as well as writer Tom Taylor's Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One, a comic book prequel to the games. Its animated action will reportedly unfold on an alternate version of Earth where the Joker has successfully managed to trick Superman into killing Lois Lane, sending the superhero on a rampage of destruction. "This unhinged Superman decides to take control of Earth for its own good," says the Hollywood Reporter, "leading Batman and his allies to attempt to stop him." Avalanche's neon-flecked sequel comes packed with "plenty of balls-to-the-wall action and beautifully distressed setpieces", as Eurogamer contributor Vikki Blake put it in her review, even if its blandly implemented open-world lets the side down. "Superficially, it clutters the map and makes it feel like you've plenty to do," said Vikki, "but you'll soon learn that they're chiefly repetitive tasks and as satisfying as Rage 2's combat is, it's surprising how quickly it'll grow stale - particularly as the vehicular combat isn't quite as satisfying as the devastation of your shotgun."
