Player characters will now in some cases be left with half a heart from attacks that would otherwise defeat them. The forward momentum of attacks is now scaled with the velocity of the player character. Monsters can now damage each other. Sometimes there might break out between monsters. Monsters can now alert each other of nearby player characters. Placement mode Player characters can now move while in placement mode. Direction that the placement mode spline pans is now based on whether the player character is picking up an item or dropping an item. Shops Shops now restock right away when a shop state is updated. The player no longer needs to go to sleep to get the latest added stock. Workorders Workorders now have a visual light beam to indicate that it is active. Some sneaky bugs managed to slip through the cracks despite all the testing we threw at it. We took that hard, but stepped up and have been hustling to squash those issues. On the upside, we've managed to roll out not one but two seasonal updates – Lystide during the 2023 Holiday season and, today, Lunar New Year. We really hope you're enjoying the new stuff and grabbing those goodies. Now, here's the real talk. It's clear to us that there are more improvements that we need to deliver, many inspired by the amazing feedback we have had from your guys. We have things we need to do to make sure the game really delivers on its potential. That's why we're holding off a bit on the PlayStation and Xbox releases. We're working on it and getting extremely close! The updates include significant improvements to usability (UX/UI), onboarding as well as more seasonal content! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42051469/2e71d0634450fd3d15d8315e8ce7b38b26fa7186.png We were hoping to announce a confirmed release date today, but we don't want to make promises until everything's locked down. Console releases are like putting together a complex puzzle, and we're making sure all the pieces fit just right. We know many of you will be super disappointed, but we're not about to deliver anything less than awesome. The improvements and new content we've thrown your way so far are just a glimpse of what's coming. Our aim is to launch on console with all the upgrades and cool stuff by the end of March. We will share a much more detailed breakdown of the improvements (coming to PC as well) and a confirmed release date in the next few weeks. With that said, here is the list of the current known issues - compiled with your help - we are working hard to fix at the moment (in the next announcement we will share more updates, by the way!): There is no visible GUI for "Rotate object". Please check the keybindings in settings to see what button is bound for “Rotate object” All friends are shown online In multiplayer for clients: Sometimes the Companion mood is shown as negative but if you listen to it - it's happy. We worked hard to implement the “Friends’ Pass”, which also functions as a demo! The “Friends’ Pass” allows a group of up to 4 players to play indefinitely on the host’s island, provided the host owns the game. We hope this fosters a sense of community and collaboration among players. We are not done with Ikonei Island yet - On December 14th, Ikonei is celebrating “Lystide”! We have seen a huge boost in activity since it was available for free on the Epic Store for a week in November. Over 5.9 million people claimed the game! We hope you enjoyed revisiting the world of Earthlock. Be sure to check out our comics on Steam and Epic if you want to delve further into the Earthlock lore. 🏜️ Earthlock 2 Updates {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42051469/edf30162d71cd0e1985c189d0cacde7ca2245b16.png For those of you who haven't heard about our other games, we're developing Earthlock 2! We're very proud to look back and see how the Earthlock IP has grown over the last few years. Our team made the choice to switch Earthlock 2 from Unity to Unreal Engine a couple of years ago. This has been a huge undertaking, and we have learned a lot about the engine, and the way we work as a studio. Another major challenge we have taken on is working on our first multiplayer game in Ikonei Island. We have grown as a studio tackling these challenges, but it has cost us more time than initially anticipated. However, for the last year, we have gone back to pre-production working on the core vision, and redesigned the main concept for the game. We feel we have something really good now, and we have been presenting this to publishers and investors lately. We even won an award for the most anticipated game at an investor event in Malta at the end of November. We are working on making this vision presentable to the community soon and will reveal the new launch date to you in the future.
