There are still known bugs on old cards or AMD/Radeon cards (DOF and light issue). We hope that new save system (for both episodes) is going to work for good from now. Major fixes are done for second episode. Ep1 still have to wait a little. Thank you once again for patience and have a nice time with a game. We will be thankfull for any feedback before setting those builds to default branch. Especially about save game. Before switch delete all game files and download again. Old save games are not going to work. Updated: -new save system for all platforms (win, osx, lin,) -dlc working on all platforms (at least on our machines ;) ) -skip first cut scene in ep 1 and dlc Once again. Old saves can not be loaded. If you would like to test a new save system and solution for dlc problem on OSX you can set the open_beta branch for your app. There are fresh builds. Those builds are going to delete your old save games so make sure to backup them. If launch problem occurs on OSX get rid of settings.txt in your app before launch. This should do the trick. Remember. This is beta branch and you are switching to it just for test or when you have nothing to lose . Windows users should not switch to betas for now. Best regards PDTUpdate and DLCFeb 1, 2014 - Community AnnouncementsHello everybody. After terrible marathon of work we are finaly able to set DLC and new update live. We are realy tired so let this announcement be quick. There are some facts we want to tell you: - Ep 1 is updated. We have done some optimizations.(Jack does not look normaly but we are going to fix this - he is not so bad now anyway ;) ) - DLC Welcome Home is available for download for Windows and OSX - IF YOU ARE OSX USER there is something you should check. It is for base game and dlc as well (one client ;)). Run the app normaly. Try to change graphic options and apply them. Quit the app. Relaunch and try to change resolution one more time. If it will be impossible then try this. Find game local files. Reveal content of HM.app . Find settings.txt and delete it. Then launch the app from a folder. Not from Steam library. Then try the trick with resolution from the begining one more time. If in second launch you will be able to change the resolution you are free to go. There is some kind of bug we have to debug on OSX. Problem is: IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET YOUR GRAPHIC SETTING WRITE CORRECTLY BY THIS TRICK, YOUR SAVE GAMES ARE NOT GOING TO WORK. Pity but true. -IF YOU ARE LINUX USER and you realy want to check this game. Switch the branch of the game to public_beta. There is new build there. Made for 32bit os. For now there is not possible to save your graphics options and write your save game (actualy it is but you will not be able to load it and even if you do, the results are not going to be nice). For correct working you will have to delete settings.txt before every session. Save game is useless. But we finaly managed to run steam plugin. I assume that as a linux user you are aware of dependencies like libstem_api.so (you can find it in game folder if you would need it) and all i386 standard libs for amd64 systems. - SAVE GAMES ARE ONLY LOCAL NOW no steam cloud untill we fix all save game issues. -IF YOU ARE NEW OR OLD USER and want to know what is going to happen next. We are going to put updates at least once a week. We are going to work harder and harder to fix as much bugs as we can (i doubt that we could fix all of that, that you will find, you are realy good in finding bugs :P ) and soon we will start work on next episode. Yeah, we have finished first episode with all great content that isn't available at the moment on Steam (cutscenes, voices, graphic optimisation and final gameplay scenario), BUT... we need to test it out before release and that is why you have to wait one week longer. Expect finished HM:Haunt November twenty second with possibility to pre-purhase HM:Welcome Home (which means episode 02). As we can see there is a lot of people that changes save file headline with game version. DO NOT! BLOCKED SAVE STATES AREN'T A BUG! We are changing game version and block older save states intentionally. Game core is still under development what affects save file structure. When save file is edited and you are loading outdated state you can expect one thing - BUGS! A lot of them. Game will receive tons of nulls what will result with: - a few pages in one location - a few items equipped at the time after load - crazy slendy (frozen in one place or haunting you a few times per second ;] ) - some triggers may not working, or they will work when shouldn't (if used earlier for example) - aaand so on... So, please - don't edit your save files. When game is updated - delete outdated save states and start new game. Make sure that "hm_Data/SaveStates" directory is created after game is updated. Yep - luck of that folder caused all problems. In case of Mac build let me quote our technical team member: "Files downloaded by steam as a game are simply nothing. OSX build is uploaded but client is not downloading correct files. Strange thing is that on developer account it works. I need some more time to fix this. I am realy sorry for that. It is late sunday night now in Poland so let me fix it tomorow. I think the biggest 'thing' that has place this week is Mac version - released today morning! Ok, release notes for version 0.8. FIXES: Collision issues fixed (global boundary, mesh colliders, small objects etc.) Mouse input improved Controller right stick sensitivity improved New save game system (all issues after game was loaded are fixed... at least we think so ;) ) Falling from great height now will kill you "Mark" AI improved Difficulty now affects stamina, start hour and battery capacity Pick-up range issue fixed Inventory now can't be opened during game pause (save menus etc.) Catch camera FX are softer ADDITIONS: Action indications (for example "I't locked...") Crosshair Foliage Quality Setting (HAS HUGE IMPACT ON PERFORMANCE!) First off thanks for downloading our game - even if you feel disappointed at the moment. As We can see a lot of you thought that this game is in his final stage or that there are maybe a few bugs... ... but it's not. It's not even a tested beta. Game is still work in progress and it will appear as Early Access untill game core will be finished and first episode gameplay will be polished as we want him to be. This episode is only an intro for further chapters, that is why you can find a lot of things that aren't useful at the moment (crowbar for example). So, why there are here? Cause we want to make sure that each part of game mechanics is working well before releasing next chapters. Our team counts seven people, where only two (ok, sometimes three) of us are working on HM. We don't have any beta testers or budget to hire professional company that will test HM for us. Idea was to give you early access, get reports, reward most active players, fix the game and make first stable release. But it seems to be a great food for haters and now I'm not sure if that way was a good one. Our game was always controversial - you love it or hate it, only a few remained indifferent. But what I saw in Community Center just after release (excpet of great bug reports - thank you!) totally turned me off. I don't mean bugs - there are here and we are waiting for reports to fix them. I mean huge incomprehension between our whole team and community - you, gamers. Today is a new day. Fresh air and clear sun in Poland helped me to keep a distance and turn engines on - again. Tomorrow I have a lot of things to do (to fix) and I will do so. For those that are still with us and are waiting for finished version of HM:Ep01...and further episodes ;) Being and indie isn't easy. I mean really indie, not an indie that has a budget below 500k$. But we are here, on Steam, thanks to you. I (We) hope, that thanks to you we will be able to make HM real top-notch indie horror game. We just want to say that HM Ep01: Haunt release date was moved from 30th September to 4th October. There are two reasons why we have decided to do so. First off Monday isn't a good day for premiere. Isn't it? We believe that there is nothing better than game released just before weekend starts. Second thing is xBox Controller support. At the moment it's possible to play with controller, but all game menus are controlled only by keyboard and mouse. We want to fix that feature before release. Thanks to that after download you will be able to sit comfy on your sofa and play without keboard and mouse on your side. We want you to know that there is no reason to be worried. First episode is done and all we need is good momentum and all features fully working.
