Grimstar: Release DateDec 27, 2023 - Community AnnouncementsHello RTS fans! As you've probably noticed, we've pushed back the release date of Full Version to Q1 next year. My goal is to make the Full Version of the game better using all the feedback you provide. Aside from identifying the key issues and improving all aspects of the game, your input helps us greatly with optimizations and bug fixing. As you can guess all of this takes a lot of time (especially when only one guy develops a game (-;)), so we have to move the release date of the Full Version once more. I hope you understand that I strive for the highest quality possible when the Full Version is released. At the beginning of December, we released Version 1.3.0 of the Free Version, which includes all optimizations. Please test it and let me know what you think. As I mentioned, this would also be very helpful in improving the Full Version. Thank you for all your feedback during development! MORE ABOUT GRIMSTAR and THE RELEASE Welcome to the savage planet acts as a Prologue for Grimstar: Crystals are the New Oil! You can play the first five missions of the single player campaign. This prologue version will showcase a fresh cartoon graphic style which complements the gameplay mechanics. The following is a short summary of what I have changed for the final release version based on your feedback: New Cartoon Graphic Style I've switched to a cartoon graphic style since it appears much nicer and the maps are now much clearer. Alternate victory condition As an alternative to collecting all the crystals on the map, you can find and destroy all the enemies' caves. The amount of crystals you have at the end of each mission determines the experience reward. Leveling up, calling Bombers for support, and using a shield are among the things he can do. I use this Feedback to change some points of the core gameplay: Time Limit Removed I have removed the time limit in all missions and have replace it thought waves which getting heavier and heavier. Commander Unit is now a Hero Unit Also the commander unit, which is the only unit which can summon new units, is now a Hero Unit which you can call every time if you have enough Resources. More Enemies and Blood I have also raise the number of enemies in each level, but each enemy have less power than before. I do this to Increase action of the game. Play Test I start a new Play test Next Week, to get more Feedback about the changes of the gameplay. The Play test is open to all players. Any Kind of Feedback is welcome!
